Since I like to fondle my gold, I stack Eagles (and other .916/.900) coins exclusively. Theres just nothing like that jingle of 30-40 large in your hands!
The American Gold Eagle coin was redesigned in 2021 as the Type 2 and its obverse now has only 46 stars representing the States of the Union which means that New Mexico, Arizona, Alaska and Hawaii have been omitted. On the other hand, the obverse of American Gold Eagle coins from 1986 until 2021 known as the Type 1, there are 50 stars that represent all of the States of the Union which is the same as the 50 stars on the Flag of the United States of America.
I’m glad that you explained how the Buffalo and the Eagle BOTH contain one full ounce of pure 24K gold. Many good folks who stack still don’t fully understand that key concept and somehow believe that a Buffalo contains “more gold” because it’s 24K vs. the 22K Eagle. People forget about the *added* silver-copper alloy that increases the weight of the Eagle to 1.09 ozt. (As for myself, although I love the Buffalo, I prefer the added durability of the Eagle for my stack.)
@@NKMK7they both contain the exact same amount of pure gold because the Eagle weighs more due to the silver and copper added for durability, but contains exactly a full ounce of pure 24k gold.
Apparently the reason the buffalos were only produced in fractional sizes for one year (2008) is due to the time each one takes and the difficulty of producing them in small sizes. We've heard from lots of customers they'd love buffalos in fractional sizes, but it sounds like there are some operational difficulties to making that happen.
@@apmexand seeing how little concern the US mint has towards quality control and innovation in 2023 is probably a good thing. They will completely destroy the buffalo
I had 40oz a few years back when gold was at $1600/oz, I dollar cost avg, so about once a month, I liquidated most of it to buy a Rolex (outperformed Gold and Stock Market/Real Estate last 10 years) and a car. Now I’m back to stacking (6oz currently) but I can only buy by the half oz now. I sprung for a 1oz 40th ave Ghostbusters coin from Apemx, one of only 140 minted, and I got a couple 1/4ozs and a 1/10th, 15g in bars
I only have gold Maples, AGEs, and a few Britannias in my gold stack. I don't buy gold Buffaloes because I don't care for the design. Not sure why but it just never appealed to me. Purity isn't any kind of an issue for me, so 22k and 24k are the same to me, both containing a full Troy oz. of gold. I do like the fractionals, though, because of their smaller sizes allowing me to sell less than an oz. of gold at one time. This could become very important during times of high inflation, where I would want to sell them for just enough currency to pay bills and not too much more than that. Because of this, I also have 1/4 oz. and 1/2 oz. gold coins. I skip the 1/10 oz. gold coins due to their high premium per oz. of gold. The 1/4 oz. and 1/2 oz. coins also cost more per oz. of gold but the extra cost is reasonable and I am getting additional flexibility for my "money".
Where's these at spot prices Apmex advertising for Black Friday. I was up early 7am when it all started, but I have not seen one item at spot. Sale items but not at spot
Hello! We've had two deals at spot today so far. There was one at 7 AM CST for a 10 oz silver bar secondary market and there was another at 11 AM CST for gold at spot. That deal was for a 20 franc gold rooster. We have another silver at spot deal going later today as well. I'm sorry you missed the first two, but stick around - the deals rotate every hour!
Buffalos are .9999% Gold where as Eagles are only 91.67% pure gold, or 22 karats. Numismatics is for coin colletors, personally I like the pureness of Buffalos for a store of wealth.
Best part of video is him calling the replica a indian head nickle but its a native American in the picture. That statement makes no sence. Lolol great video. I love both coins theres amazing there absolutely beautiful.
The buffalos look like crap to me. The rough field, the old buffalo nickel design and the color (yes I know thats pure 24k) just looks like the gold foiled chocolate coins. Too many advancements in the making of coins to be reverting back to old crappier looking coin designs.

God dang, I could only do that for silver. Gold, can only get 5 maximum.
I do the exact same while working on my laptop lol motivation
Fractional are the way to go for me. I'm a fan of the buffs. But I'll grab gold in any form. 😊
Fractional gold's utility for smaller purchases is underrated for how useful it is
@@apmex very true
@@apmexpurchases? Nobody buys gold to buy stuff.
Man i really wish i could afford a gold buffalo. I love the textured field on buffalos.

I really like both. The ASE fits more into my budget because I can purchase them in fractions. Thanks for sharing.
Wish I could afford even a single one. Either one would do.

_Wait, what? so does that mean we only got 46 stars now on the American flag?_
I like both, but the AGE’s 3% silver makes it stand out when put next to gold/copper only mixes.

I love your videos/advise. I look forward to each one and take everything you say into consideration. Thanks from Ontario Canada
Thank you, we're glad you like them!
I own both eagles tend to be a tad more durable due to the copper in them but hey i like the look of both
i would really like the mint to make gold buffalo coins like they do the gold eagle. also bring back fractional buffalos.

Fractional eagles are king for me. I exclusively buy them over any other coin. Premiums are real though

That's a weird opinion but ok
Gold buffalos all day everyday! Gold Eagle is pale and looks washed out vs the Buffalo
