I saw one of the other comments and I completely forgot the increased carrying capacity mutation existed, that’s gonna be so fun to use on almost all creatures imo since I play solo carnivores a lot lol, especially ptera and things like deino or carno. Really any carnivores. Hunting beipis and herras with ptera just feels so fun lol, you feel like a mocking bird or any type of territorial bird fighting off and killing other species for food 🤣 so fun

The increased carrying compacity will be awesome. I'm trying to figure out how to unlock it. Maybe by walking enough with a heavy corpse? Dragging it until you stam is completely out?
That's what I'm going to try once I find a goat somewhere where no players are around haha.
      I love hunting with pteranodon.
It is super rewarding as it's not easy. For me I a feel like a vulture or an eagle, flying above everything until you spot your next hunt, swooping down going for head shots, or a 1 shot 1 kill on babies. Haha. Very satisfying!

Hey, I'm a ptera main. Watched your videos on it, knew it all already but still enjoyed. It's great that you're bringing new players to play ptera. :)
First time I played it I died from starvation because I didn't know how to find food at all ahah. Then learned from another youtuber how to fly efficiently but they explained it a little bit differently: you need to hold W slightly above the horizon as soon as your ptera starts flapping wings. The lower the pitch angle, the less stamina you will use on gaining height. But I use tap method also occasionally when I really close to the ground or need to look around. But holding W is easier when I need to go far so I won't be bothered with constant tapping.
Right now I have only two problems with ptera gameplay:
    1) You can't snatch pieces of meat and organs from corpses on the flight. That makes hunting beipi very unprofitable because most of the time you kill them in water and you can't drag their body out of it to eat. Or make ptera be able to launch from water but snatching would be much more fun.
    2) You hardly can see at night and you can't hear AI (or anything at all) at storms. So when there is night storm you're screwed. For other dinos storms give more opportunity to ambush or be unnoticeable but for ptera it's just boring. Especially with how much it rains in game. Like every third day you just can't do anything over than just sit and wait.
Anyways, hope devs will give some love to ptera and more people will play it. It's sad that oftenly I'm an only one ptera on the server. :)

      Edit
Thanks for having a look anyway. :) And for me, holding W has no value other then for my dives and a smoother control, as having free motion and incrementally tapping disregards that horizontal line thing completely. (I seen that video only recently), so you can gain altitude without having a forward focus.
I think you should try your own experiment with free motion and just tapping, as that will always keep Ptera at horizontal anyway.
I tried it after i had seen that video and the method i use seems to use the same amount of stam but you have free motion to look anywhere.
But try it for yourself as I play with a controller.
Also its funny you say that, because I said the exact same thing about snatching organs/meat.
I would also like to be able to use momentum to gain altitude as well. so from a dive and a pull up doesn't burn stam and you lose momentum as you pull higher, kinda like a stall in a plane, but I read somewhere kissin mentioning afterburner? which may be that.
I would also like to be able to close my wings to shoot gaps/ fall through sky when ever you like.
      and agreed about N/V
      Your Beipi point,
This is why I don't suggest hunting things bigger then you can carry, unless they are alone and you have a safe area to chow down.. I am pretty sure we can carry half our body weight, so 22kg when full grown, and i mean carry in flight.
But there is a mutation that gives you a larger carrying capacity, which I'm excited to try when the update is released. :)

Oh, I was tired of soloing Ptera haha, I want some wingman! and people were complaining about problems I just don't have, and I have had discussions with many people in comment sections about it.

@@soulfullcreations7308 Just had a thought that it would be cool if pteras flight was similar to flying on elytras in Minecraft but probably this would require reworking the entire flight movement system.
I heard about carrying mutation. Seems useless for other dinos but perfect for ptera. I hope getting it won't require doing something really hard like NV one. Better NV mutation also looks perfect for ptera but even good players will struggle to kill 10 people at night with current ptera NV (and it also gets worse as soon as you start flying for some reason).

@@eskelhaito I haven't played mine craft to know its flying mechanics. So I'd have to watch someone maybe?
And for me night time hunts are even easier as NV highlights bright skins like a Christmas tree haha. While at day they can easily disappear in the long grass.
Of a night I can get easily 3 to 4 kills a night, possibly more if I just hunt to kill and not for meals. Which really just creates more lag lol.
A tip for night time hunting would be have perfect diet, as that gives you really good buffs. People think perfect diet is only good for growth. But it's the buffs that it's great for. 20% night vision goes a long way as ptera. And the added stam buffs too plus fall damage etc.
I it's only difficult when it's a heavy storm and then you are really limited and will need a full belly to survive it really. Which is a bit shit.
Flying to high, or over a centre of a lake will lead to confusion with where you are. But if you fly low enough to see the ground or the river banks Night time isn't really that bad.
Avoid migration that is a headache of a night time too.
You should practice your PVP, when goat was on pteras diet it was great for practicing your attacks. As it's a good size, not too big, not too fast and won't attack you if you accidentally hit the ground like a boar does.
But if you can swoop and snatch frogs and pteradactylus then you are accurate enough to go for some head shots.
Babies are only 1 to 5 shots, which is quite easily done with some practice.
But I suspect you will have to drag a body for an extended amount of time to get that mutation, going off how the other mutation had seemed to work. Not sure though!. I can't wait for this next update!!!

Is pt your favorite dino im getting back into game and am looking for fun dino to play

    • @soulfullcreations7308

It is my favourite Dino :).
It can be hard to master, but is worth it! A whole lot of fun once you get the feel of it.
If you are kinda new I think it's best to start with Pt as you can get a lay of the land.
And when your adult you can really really be underestimated which puts a lot of situations in your favour.
Other Dinos that are fun for me would be Troodon, herbal and raptor.
      For herbi,
Galli is great for exploring. And I like to play pachy too occasionally.
Sometimes when I feel like a slow challenge I'll play stegosaurus. :).
What do you like to play? What mood are you in? Haha my mood usually sets me up for the Dino I'd prefer to play.

      Thanks for the sub :).
If you decide to watch some of my videos of actually playing you will see quite a few hunts. I mostly survive on players.
Glad to see another competent flyer :).
I watched your latest ptera vid,
And at the end when you burnt your stamina with the raptor, I new death was approaching haha.
Sometimes I get too caught up in the hunt and do the same thing. Haha.
