Me and my wife of almost 30 years now he's to drive to the Colorado sand dunes listening to this. It will forever remind me of endless stretches of untouched sand dunes. We would go hike the dunes at night under a full moon because it got too hot in the daytime. This was before cellphones. We brought the boom box with fresh batteries. We dances on top of the highest dune bumping this cd. It just came out and it caught my ear. We dances until the batteries were dead. It was one of the most beautiful experience of my life. We met Super Mario earlier that night, he hooked us up with some power ups if you feel me. It was magic! Thank you for posting this album! I was pretty young, this was a life changing moment. I can walk anymore so it's bittersweet. A song can hold so much!!! Highest blessings to anyone that took the time to read this. Make memories, life is too short not to!
Like outcast said NOTHING last forever. Good memories. Too bad women are after money, not love. I would have spent the rest of my life with her. I still believe in love.aybe I just brought the wrong one to heaven. She wasn't ready to fly... I hope I return there some day.
When I was a really little kid, like I’m talking 3 or 4 years old. My Mum would drive her, my sister, and I all to our favourite beach on hot sunny days. She used to play this all the way to the beach. Even being so small when she did, I can still remember everytime this was played in our old car. When I was learning to talk and stuff I would call this my bubble music, because it always sounded bubbly to me, it still does. Or sometimes she would play it while we were doing arts and crafts at our old kitchen table surrounded by windows with the sun streaming in. I miss my old house very much and listening to this just reminds me of there and our favourite beach. It’s such optimistic music. I love it. 🥲
I believe this was once on Spotify, or does my memory fail me? I was blown away by this stuff when i first heard it as i was just getting into dub... Otherworldly music. It's like you're in a jungle, underwater and in space all at the same time. It trips me out, no drugs needed! 😊
One of my favorite albums from Bill Laswell's many collaborations. Many crossover band members from Tabla Beat Science, plus Jah Wobble's own flavor. This was one of my go-to road trip albums for a long time. Listening to this reminds me of driving across the desert at night, under the moonlight............
nice. I think whatever music cloaks you on your drive across the desert night ends up being always transportive. I can see this here, headed to Joshua Tree soon and will try it out! I feel it intensely with Mile's Tribute to Jack Johnson, try that one under the desert sky sometime.
Wobble and Bill Laswell were my two favourite bass players in the late 80s/early 90s... having been priviledged enough to have seen him live with Painkiller when ´Buried secrets` came out . Put it like this : I fancied myself as a bassist , after having witnessed what that guy did during an entirely improvised set I left the hall questioning what the hell was a ´bass` used for . The gifts these people have been presented with , it´s incredible , some guy which goes pretty low profile, yet , has probably featured in some of your favourite records , namely Nicky Skopelitis - once you begin listening to this proper ... what that guy is doing here is truly remarkable . What an album .
My favs' fav will always remain the classic "Third Power" (Material). But anything by these people, really.. So big and yet so low profile... remarkable
now 7 years later, i'am very happy to be here (* 1953). Jah (* 1958), Bill (* 1955). Have a good time and see you later - jawohl evtl.
Trop bon !
A CD I like to pop in on my drive to Napa / Jah Wobble and Bill Laswell . A very Hip groove during my ride . I start in my carport and depending on the traffic it's finished when I arrive in Napa . Another favorite is " Imaginary Cuba ."
I love this like everyone here. I have it on cd, but in storage. For some reason Amazon doesn't have it, strange how some are missing. So RUclips is the resource these days. Timeless 🕉 space dub 🌟 ⭐️ 🌠 💫
Check out Bill's new album "Nammu" out 2022. A collaborative record with Swedish musician Ulf Ivarsson. Its really nice, some similarities to this but differences too, saxophone on some and ambient sounds.
Lots more collaborations too. Check out Ginger Baker "Middle Passage", Nicky Skopelitis "Ekstasis" and the fairly recent collab "Realm of Spells" too. All brilliant. Also "Solaris- live in concert".

I once had a dream: I was in a smoky loft apartment in NYC. I was supposed to be making tea for Bill Laswell but was lost in my thoughts. Next thing Bill was nearby leaning to one side giving me one of those "Are YOU OK?" looks but not saying anything. I don't know why but I suddenly felt angry and said "I don't know WHY I have to be the one making tea all the time - like I'm your bitch or something!". He remained unfazed and replied in a sort of sad, considerate tone: "Well, if you don't like it here, you're free to leave.". There was some 'fuzziness' and then I woke up. Later that morning I thought "Damn! I couldda been Bill Laswell's bitch!!" LMFAO!

Thank you for this. Where and when we encounter a particular piece of music seems to shape the music itself.
Oh man. Another blast from the past! The world needs more Bill Laswell collabs. Those dub explorations were incredible
Exquisite - multi-layered, smooth and deep... Chill Out perfection.
One of Laswell's collaborative masterpieces w/ bassist Jah Wobble.

Fantastic. I just randomly discovered this. I was wondering why Jah Wobble never collaberated with Bill Laswell and BOOM! My answer

What language is this song?
Ahmaric, the language of Ethiopia. Gigi-Ejigayehu Shibabaw-is one of the top contemporary singers from Ethiopia, and is married to Bill Laswell.
grrrrrr
Wobble. Laswell. Dunbar. Too much dub to process.
