Nice tip. I sometimes put the square in my chuck and run the drill slowly for really long runs of wrapping. Keep the tips and tricks coming. Be safe and stay healthy 😷⚒
When wrapping 3 square wires with half round, my 3 square wires often don't stay flat against each other, and sometimes stack up against each other into more like a pile rather than lying flat. What am I doing wrong, what can I do to prevent this. Thank you so much for your videos, you are a great teacher. You can clearly see what you are doing and you really explain things well. Plus you don't rush so there is time to really absorb what you are doing. Thank you so much.
In terms of the weaving wire, you really only need to use this technique with half round as round wire will not get twisted on you if you try to wrap it around the other way
Hi Oxana. Thank you so much for your videos -- I have gotten so much out of them. I hope this question is not a repeat somewhere. I am a little embarrassed asking this too. I am 62 years old and my eyes are not what they used to be. They are, frankly, pretty bad. I use magnifiers but I still have a problem identifying the round side from the flat side. I know, it's crazy. When it is wrapped on a spool, is the round side on the top showing, or on the underside, not showing?
I've actually had the spools come both ways, so it is not always positioned a certain way. Maybe if you size up from 24 gauge half-round to the 22 gauge half-round, it'll be a slightly bigger wire and perhaps more clear to see. Alternatively, you can use a round wire and weave a pattern with it to hold the square wires together. I'll try to make a video about it soon.
@@OxanaCrafts Thank you for your response. I'm embarrassed to say, I am already working with the 22 gauge! 😳 I have done some round wire weaving but I just love the way the half-round looks! I had great eyesight when I was young. This makes what I love to do so difficult and frustrating! Ah well, I guess maybe I should look at it as not a big deal, just another deal. Thanks again!
Hello.. I just subscribed to your channel. You are vey talented. I am interested in knowing how to wrap my heart shaped cabochons. And also how make my own earring wire rather than buying them.
Thank you! 1) Heart shaped cabochon wrap: ruclips.net/video/lHQ4AxtvRc8/видео.html 2) Earring hook making about 20 minutes into this video: ruclips.net/video/hindW3ISnfU/видео.html
A few days ago I saw a resin/wire wrapping video on ring making. It was a Japanese video, so I couldn't ask my question, but I am sure you will know what I am asking... When I try to do something like that, my wire, regardless of the gauge, never holds its shape. What kind of wire should I look for that is strong enough to use for rings, etc? I have been getting wire from Michaels... It has discouraged me so much that I have basically quit before I started. ☹️
I usually find 20 gauge and thicker to be good for ring base wires, but you have to remember wire wrapping wire needs to be soft enough for us to bend with our hands so any ring made with it will be able to be distorted if squeezed hard enough
I couldn't understand how people wrapped without cutting the wire. Then I watched you doing it the "wrong" way, and I immediately was like just twist the base wires..... then I facepalmed because the answer was so obvious and I'm dense🤦♀️🤦♀️ Whoopsies lol
So I have two Questions. First one is I’ve noticed in past videos you have a spica thumb splint which I’m guessing is from Tendinitis is there any tips or tricks so you have to be able to continue to wrap without having that entire tendon flare up? I really want to be able to continue to do this hobby, but I also hate getting the cortisone shots. Next question is how in the heck are u able to keep ur natural nails so long. By time I finish one piece my nails are split and cracked. Sorry I know this isn’t actually about wire wrapping but if anyone had knowledge about this I know it’s u!! Thanks in advance
I had a splint a while back because I hurt my wrist hammering too much, and that was the only type of splint I could find at the time to wear. As for my thumb, it is called Hitchhiker's Thumb when one's thumb can bend back like that and it is present in about 30% of the population, but it causes no pain or complications of any kind. As for my nails, I don't wire wrap every day, as I currently have a full time job, I only wire wrap a little here and there which is not enough to damage my nails, but when I was doing it more often I'd get a dent where the wire would rub. The only thing I can think of is that cushin-y medical tape they have, maybe putting that around finger tips would help.
For your nails...try using Spirulina. Once I started using it to help my blood sugar levels, my nails got so strong I have trouble using nail clippers on them. Six per day and within three months, your nails should be so much stronger!
Oh my! So THAT’S why my half round keeps twisting?! 😂. This was so helpful, Oxana!
The easiest solutions...make you feel so dumb when someone shows you something like this! Myself feeling like I have double digit IQ! 😳
i guess Im pretty off topic but does anyone know of a good website to watch new tv shows online?
@Danny Thiago I watch on FlixZone. Just google for it =)
@Danny Thiago i use FlixZone. You can find it on google =)

Thank you so much for helping me get a better understanding of what it is, how to best work with it, I mean you helped me a lot. Again, THANK YOU
Did I ever tell you your my hero? 😂 I was having a time (not good) trying to do it the wrong way! Thanks for this tip it will come in handy ✌️❤️
so glad I could help!

if you cant grip the base wires hard enough use your pliers! or unwrap your first few wraps (my first two or three are never perfectly tight)
perhaps you can hold the base wires together with a spring clamp, or some painters tape
Wow! This makes complete sense! Thank you for sharing this tip!
You're so welcome!
Excellent! Thanks for doing this video!
Such a good channel and so helpful.thanks for sharing❤️👍
You are so welcome!
Gosto muito do seu trabalho um like aqui do Brasil valeu.
Gracias por la explicación,es más rápido y fácil saludos.
Thanks Oxana.
Wow. Ingenious!!! Thanks
Thank you. I haven't had a chance to us half round yet, but I can afford to waste wire. So it's good to know how to do it the right way. Lol
Glad it was helpful!
Does this technique only work for half round when wrapping or any type of wire? Square, round, etc.?

Hi!
Does it work to wrap the half round wire around circle wires?
yes it does
