- Paradygm TV is back with yet another show called 'We Asked' where we collect the opinions of the public on contemporary issues, the show gets uploaded on Sundays 7pm. Our hosts Avash Ghimire and Binayak Kuikel not just goes out on public to get the opinions of people but also comes up with smart solutions to solve the problem with the dose of witty humor and fun.

Lol that's y they earn 40k to 70k a month with less distance...n they got problems..... 1ltr ko 10km n cost 114 n ridin a taxi for 2km it cost 300.... wow they got problems.....
Lol they say they put 30 to 40lakhs when they know there's is a lot of taxi now n did they put those amount to earn it in a yr or so or it is for their whole life in these bizz....lol.....so meter paid is not rised wtf lol n not since now these drivers do these it follows for the very yr taxi was introduced in nepal they ask for more than the meter without oning the meter.....
Thry want to recover the money they put in it in 3 yrs or so lol.....ppl take more these 3 yrs to earn in nepal n aboard....

This is great media/journalism. Nepal don't need pranks, fashion and stupid entertainment when the country is drowned in dust, debt and corruption. This is what NEPALESE PEOPLE NEED. Interviewing real people in the street firsthand to get a clear sense of where the country is headed and call out all the corrupted and old politicians.

I always fascinated to do topic based opinion centric shows,though my experience was on a radio show but I always feels and think about the show what you guys doing now,going to individuals taking there opinion and including experts opinion too,its just perfectly executed witty and worthy coverage. Woo Paradygm Team.
Once i asked a taxi driver.. what should be done so every taxi driver will agree riding on a meter, he replied.. per kilometer rate should be 50 rupees per kilometer, right now it is about 36 rupees something.
Km/50 n for 3km 300 isn't it way off....so think it is juz their sayin these drivers r fakes...... frm way before they have scam customers ..... not only now before like way back frm 2k to 2k19 is the way of doin it..... even my time too scam customers..

It's applaudable that you guys are raising the issues of everyday life of Nepalese.Just a piece of advice for upcoming episodes.
1. Add insights of experts related to the discussed topic. It's crucial to hear the opinions of the people working in a particular industry. For example the Ministry of Transportation, Commerce, law, etc. This way it adds value to the topic and gives viewers an opportunity to understand the issue from a different angle.
I have seen LOT of Nepalese journalists/youtubers trying to master of all subject areas lacking proper research, insights and in-depth knowledge.
2. Use infographics to tell the story if it is data( for example the number of the taxi, tax paid yearly, etc)Infographics compliments the visual storytelling.
3. Please give credit to the pictures and footages.
4. Do not blaim or claim someone for the fault instead present in such a way that it leaves a question to the viewers. Let them analyze and understand from their perspective. This way program will be less be biased.(By the way, I do not mean that the program is biased.)

Taxi ko man pari is a big issue, there is no doubt about it tara ek tarika le herne ho vaney esma taxi wala haruko pani kei galti chaina jasto lagyo malai, we should blame government for this not them....rahayo kura sambandit nikaye ma kura garnu ko they wont give a damn about it, car prices in Nepal is so high that taxi drivers has to get some marginal numbers of passengers in a day to pay their interest and all and when they don't get enough the issue arises so rather than complaining they try to get as much passengers as possible to run their homes....This thing can easily be resolved if government bring few rules but hey its Nepal and u gotta live with that...Peace

I once asked a taxi driver to go as per meter which he obviously denied. From durbar high school to teku he quoted around 350rs. i did bargain. i was willing to pay upto 200/250. there were around i think 6-7 taxis or more parked there. They were in a kind of pact. Not one of them was willing to go, let alone agree to bargained amount. There were 2 traffic police men standing there, ignoring as if it didn't concern them. I went up to them, asked them to help me get one of those taxi drivers to agree. They said they couldn't do anything. I asked them where else i can get help. they pointed towards a flex board at the back of the wall that said "dial 103" or something. i contacted them and they told me that i should ask them "khali ho?" first, not answer them where i need to go, so they can't disagree. they also asked me taxi number plate number but it didn't matter. Anyways, my whole point is the help i didn't get from those useless traffic policemen who were just chatting.

I often use taxi n have conversation with Drivers like this , and as we know there are both aspect of their disagreement all am doing is firstly ask them kindly to run in meter if not then start bargain like , “turn on meter n will pay you additional 50 rps ...... if not then.. .. .. ... .. 100 .. .. . Like this ! Its all becoz eve time i find them fighting with this system like we all do for Hospital,schools , rents, gas , n on n on these all r so common for all people n aslo the most effective problem is the Time lapses coz by the Trafic jam,,

Avash, I used to ask these questions to the cab drivers.
One driver had a very good point (also covered in your video).
"Sambandhit nikaya" ma gayera vanda the kind of responses they get is laughable. A driver got response like "Timro bachha buchhi lai sarkari school ma padhau" (an out right derogatory version of 'live below your means').
I agree that the problem in taxi meters exist. And taxi drivers have always been notorious for not agreeing to go by meters. But that doesn't give the "sambandhit nikaya"s to ask a cab driver to send his kids to govt schools.
Perhaps a good solution for them is to tie up with tech enabled platforms like Pathao and Tootle to take advantage of their GPS enabled technology to leverage the ride network for a win-win pricing mechanism and a steady volume of rides throughout the day for the drivers.
