    • @RandomNepaliReal
      @RandomNepaliReal 5 лет назад +5

      @shashank shrestha bro, we have the rules, laws and everything. The problem is lack of resources for its implementation and the mentality of the society itself. When one perpetrator gets away with this because we don't speak up, the victim doesn't speak up or even the parents keep them silent, then the perpetrator only gets stronger. Therefore, I think, we need to speakup and also put up mechanisms to ensure that when one does speak up we have evidence to use, else, law alone cannot help.

    I too being as a man feel disgusted to hear the ground reality of public vehicles.
    Gov should offer alternative solutions to this problem .
    maybe bring like
    1)those little battery based autos
    2) two storey buses to reduce traffic of people in bus
    3) cc cameras in bus
    4) promote EV and reduce its added tax
    5) educate people on this mentality through diff medias possible
    6) fines/punishments etc
    there r so more solutions to this but first Gov should think this as a real problem .

    Don't question your guts! If you feel uncomfortable, move right away.
    And know that under no circumstance it is your fault. Most of us dont confront them because we fear retaliation & that nobody would support us. So, please don't feel bad about not being able to take action immediately. You are not alone. I hope you all have better days you deserve.
    Also, if someone has decided to share you their story, please be mindful and never ever try to guilt trip them. Because you dont know what its like to be viewed as sexual object rather than an actual human being.

    Saying "public vehicle ma eklai janai hudaina" still makes it sound like it was the woman's fault when its NOT. The issue here to solve is how to make public vehicles safe for all women whether they are alone or in groups, the solution shouldn't be 'whenever you ride a public vehicle ride it with with someone because harassment just happens all the time'.

    And nobody talked about changing the whole mindset of men in the country! You could install all sorts of cctv, have police in the bus, reduce the amount of passengers boys/men will continue to do so. The root cause being lack of awareness and the mindset about sexual assault! Sexual abuse, domestic violence, lack of concept of marital rape and mental health are all part of a spectrum that comes down to the way of thought processes men and women (both) have in our society. There is a bigger picture here.

      Extremely well said! The rhetoric in Nepal needs to change and men in Nepal need to be held accountable for things like this. Given the patriarchal societal structure in Nepal, and the sense of security men have had for centuries they feel like they can get away with anything -- because more often than not, they do. There is so much complacency in Nepali men. Men need to call other men out instead of being defensive and saying things like "just because this one man is like that not all men are like that". If you witness and are generally aware of sexual abuse, domestic violence, rape and mental health related problems men need to speak up. These are cases where if you're not helping, you're hurting.

    • @apurwaprasad2344
      @apurwaprasad2344 5 лет назад +2

      @@womkka That's so true! Men and women both need to call out. I have seen mothers protecting their sons, sisters protecting their brothers. In any case of wrong, life would be better if we start standing up for the right. Well what's right is an individual opinion, but we can gear towards changing the perspective.

  • @mimkii8369
    @mimkii8369 5 лет назад

    Thanks for raising this topic and creating awareness @Paradygm TV. I feel so pathetic about these many cases of rapes and sexual harassment going on in Nepal. One thought has been crossing my mind over and over "We don't want to be 2nd India". India, having so many extreme cases of rapes and known worldwide for being a totally unsafe place for women, it seems like it won't take any longer for Nepal to have similar image worldwide.
    Also, we need to take a stand together and support the victim when she is actually brave enough to speak out loud about being harassed in a public place. Just that takes so much courage, and if people are just watching and not saying/doing anything against the predator, it is a big shame for everyone.

And it’s very much disgusting and disheartening to even know like these kind of things is prevailing. Men are doing this for fun or anything which do not make any sense and which I say is very very much inappropriate. Also adding to the point as our Binayak dai have said “we Nepalese are proud to say that Buddha was born in Nepal. But Buddha fucking not teach you to masturbate on a public vehicle “ which is very much shameful and unreal to believe.

    A problem should be treated as a whole. Like a body. Everybody is only talking about the problem. Solution lies in EveryOne realising our comunity as a body. Nobody wants to destroy their own body. If u have a defective part in ur body u treat it, u heal it, u dnt cut it away.. the fundamental problem is people think they are Seperate. They talk like its hapening out of their body so it doesnot effect them directly. But it affects directly in million different ways to everyone..

      @@kishorshrestha9501 Out of that 98, only 10% can be taken as intensional. Public bus is very difficult to travel, I think you know that. Many times accidental touches are misinterpreted by girls. Boys also have to go through the same accidental touches but we don't care much about that. But women are very sensitive to that kind of things, so they misinterpret.

    And it's not just CCTV cameras. The mindset of people needs to change radically. Victim blaming should NOT be an option ever. And the girls (and guys surrounding such incidents) should be encouraged to slap/shame such guys on the spot.
    I've been in such disgusting situations myself and even my own folks did not seem to understand my demands for a bike when I was younger. But the logic of the matter is that the public spaces ought to be safer. Period.
