    (Maybe it's a little bit late to get your attention toward my comment) I'm truly blessed to know your channel, and more grateful because I'm fluent in English. I'm Vietnamese, born and raised here, but I spend a lot of time researching the aching aftermath of the Vietnam War as well as trying to know more about Viet Kieu from all around the world. Kyle, I live in LA and have lots of family in OC, and I recently came across your channel. I've enjoyed the several genres of videos (family reunions, the Viet Kieu experience in various countries, and local happenings like what Recess is doing during the pandemic. Thank you for making these wonderfully produced stories! They truly inspire me! I should add that I was born in VN in 1975, along with my family was a failed "boat person" (with Dad in re-education), received political asylum from France, and then moved to the United States two years later. I've been back to VN just once, in 2005, and your videos have helped me see how much the country has changed, and how much more I can learn by spending more time there.

    One more thing Kyle, i want to say that i really appreciate the work that u're doing, i don't think any youtuber have that big of motivation and passion to do the same thing, so again i wish you the best, for you job, for your life, for the support that i hope your parents will give to you. This kind of video is just insane.
    oh and one more thing haha, i hope this vid has Vietsub, because i know so many Vietnamese people that want to know about this but they do not know English, really want it to have Vietsub so i can share to more people on Facebook

    • @kyleledotnet
      @kyleledotnet  6 лет назад +1

      +GiaoDinh if this was easy then
      another Vietnamese person would have done this years before me. I'm sure you know how entrepreneurial and Innovative many Vietnamese people abroad are so I'm sure some other Viet kieu would have done this. I'm glad you can see the effort into a project like this. I wish I could do more of these all the time but it's just impossible. But I'm happy to bring this kind of content because it really allows me to not only make something watchable but I get to spend time with some really cool people. The thing about Vietnamese subbing is that's the physical act of putting subtitling onto a video is very time consuming and I'm not even talking about translating from English to Vietnamese which I can do orally but writing I'm not the best at and it would just simply be too much time as I've already put in way too much time on editing. If I spell one word wrong I would have to go back change it and then render the whole thing again and while I render my laptop cannot function for anything else besides basic web browsing so I can't really continue editing or work on other stuff.. I also want to limit words on the bottom because they tend to take away from the image. I don't want every single video to just always have subtitles.

      yeah i think it's understandable, but i think you should and can have someone do it for you, i mean the captions on RUclips only, i do not know much about it, just a suggestion. But anyway man, again, thanks for the hardwork :)

      +GiaoDinh yes this was one of the most expensive and time consuming videos to make simply because Switzerland was very expensive and I had to abide by everyone's schedule and everything had to fall into place which I think in the end it did and I'm happy with the results. I had enough footage to do three separate 15 minute videos each but for Creative purposes I condensed down to just one video

    Great video man! 👏
    Maybe Duy can start up his own Vietnam tour business.
    I know a man in my city that hosts classes to teach people about sushi, and also travels to Japan around 8 times every year.
    As long as he bring along 12 travelers with him to Japan each time, Japan pays for his flight and hotel.
    He gets a lot of requests, so he usually limit it to only 20 travelers per trip.
    He has been doing this for 10 years, and has taken more than 60 trips to Japan.
    Maybe Duy can do something similar, and take people from Switzerland to Vietnam, and travel together.

    A step up above the rest. No narration from you but the story telling on its own speaks for itself. Tam is more Vietnamese than he looks. I bet the farmers are surprised when he first showed up as Vietnamese from the diaspora. He's doing a lot for the farmers and his ecorice business. A lot of farmers get ripped off in countries like Vietnam where they work hard but are still poor. By cutting out a lot of middlemen he helps to raise the standard of living of farmers by paying them what they are worth. I've been to Switzerland many years ago and it's a mostly white country. Not sure how it is now but if you are of Vietnamese extraction and look around and not see too many people like you then one wants to search to find his roots. BTW Switzerland has a 4th language that easily gets overlooked; it's Romansh. It's spoken in the southeastern Swiss canton of Grisons. With three of the languages directly related to three countries one wonders how they get along.
