I remember in the 70s we just dumped it and everything else in the 55 gallon drums, we don't even know what was in them, we dumped everything into the old Erie Canal. Then it was covered with dirt and today high priced housing developments sit on top of the sites I am sure it's fine
@@standingbear998 The towns dumped their trash trucks and the people who owned the property took payment from anyone else who wanted to dump in them. Same thing happened with the sink holes that were actually caves and they filled them up with trash of all types. I worked for the city where I lived, for DPW. We drove our trucks a couple miles outside town to the Erie Canal and dumped there. The local hospitals all dumped there as well. It stopped in the late 80s.
Omg New York can keep its own shyte! They got the benefits of it now they can deal with the leftovers! It's not our mess. And that waste company taking those shipments needs investigated. It doesn't sound like they have any emergency plans in place. WHO APPROVED THAT PLACE???
This waste belongs to the Federal Government, not the state it was abandoned in. It is residue from the project that created the atom bomb. It’s okay to reject the waste. But, Wayne Disposal has been accepting radioactive material for years and it shouldn’t be a surprise.
If the company is that confident, they should provide a multibillion-dollar guarantee covered by a surety bond or similar. Otherwise, their assurances are mostly worthless.
It's very low level, I saw the load specs. The loads were not paying all that great. Send it to Texas atleast that will drive up the rates so some truckers will make a few dollars.
Does it make sense to take radioactive material from one site to another. Just like dame removal disturbing sediments from 1950 with all kinds of nasty PESTICIDES like DDT PCB

Also in San Francisco bay.
Grows 3rd eye.
who is this we? I certainly did not do this. there is a huge difference of when people did not know the harm and when they do? don't cover for it.

So the Mayor has been complete unaware that Wayne Disposal has been doing this for years?
Same can be said for the brain-dead people in the comment section here.
Dump it in San Francisco.
Maybe dump it in their own backyard… And maybe you shouldn't be such a dumb Trump supporter

But your state built the waste disposal facility. You people approved it. LOL!

Garbage is shipped from Canada to Michigan. It's a dump site I guess.
u should have to dispose of it in your own states.

Uhhhhh yeah send it to Michigan that is surrounded by a huge chunk of the worlds fresh drinking water.
Who's idea was this! SAY NO MICHIGAN
It was Michigan's idea to build a waste disposal facility. 😂😂
😂😂😂😂 Keep it out!!! Geez. It took a Mayor to stop TWENTY FIVE TRUCKS???
Manhattan Project waste?
Send it back to Manhattan!
"If you can make it in New York, you can make it anywhere!"
Keep it in New York
No risk? Are we that stupid or what?? Pay a corporation tons of money to dump, don’t monitor the dump site? And dump it near a huge water source! 💩💩💩
Radioactive material was responsible for creating our wonderful three-eyed Oregon fish! I'm sure it'll be great for Michigan.
Who’s old enough to remember “too cheap to meter “?
Stay strong 💪, don't let that in Michigan
Wow, they put it in the ocean too.
They need to stay where the company made them for profit! Wake up people
I'm from WNY and I don't blame them.
keep that crap in your own state and stop creating it
Clean energy
Send it to the Texas Governor's house.
Why?
Just like a scrapyard full of ev' s nobody wants it
New York should clean up after themselves for once.
Clean your own up first
@@Iwqrxtwuvk23547 you!
@@Iwqrxtwuvk23547🤣 found the dirty New Yorker.

Best idea is to store it in the desert by Nevada.
Only some of it is reusable right now.
What lies. N
Send it all to the southern border and use it to mix concrete for the border wall. Build the border wall as a maze.
Is Mexico still paying for it 😅😂😅😂

How stupid can people be to use the electricity than cry like a bunch of hippies when they try to move it to a safe storage site.
So you wouldn't mind if the safe storage site was near you? Let them know where that is!
