  • Ferrari is making big moves for the future of its F1 team and tangibly progressing on track - but its recent wave of momentum has been blunted by two weekends in which not just Red Bull but a resurgent McLaren defeated it.
So what is the upgraded SF-24 still missing?

As a Tifosi I love Ferrari's improvement under Vasseur. Nothing too extreme like McLaren's Magic bullet they discovered before Austria last year. The team is not relying in anything jackpot-like. Just continuous improvement, at a steady pace, each week becoming a better organization. I have never seen this before at Ferrari. It is looking very good for us. Forza Ferrari!

It’s hard to comprehend that with the resources that Ferrari have enjoyed since 1950, they have not won more races and constructor titles! Be that as it may, I think part of the problem is the Italian mindset involved ie they think with their hearts and not their heads..they need a a healthy dose of todt and Braun again!!!

Ferrari were on the right track when they had Arrivabene.
They had revolutionary cars and were constantly coming up with radical interesting developments that Merc and Redbull copied from.
But Binotto and Elkman had to go and screw that up and make Ferrari a midfield team.
Vasseur is a good replacement so far but Ferrari need to start challenging for the title next season.

What Ferrari are missing are those final 3-4 kph down the straights. That's what is holding them up in qualy and it's also the only area where they are losing in race pace. Despite constantly losing in sector 1, Leclerc was often able to match Verstappen and Norris on lap time.

D'Ambrosio and Serra are typical Italian surnames (I know in this case the two are not Italians by nationality), and they substitute Laurent Mekies and David Sanchez, respectively, typical of France and Spain.

Is anyone here is paying attention to what I'm paying attention to?
Three Teams who bring massive upgrades and revisions to their get spot on, them being:
    1. Mclaren
    2. Ferrari
    3. Alpine
What is surprising you may ask? It is that these are the only three teams whose upgrades work spot on. Why you ask? It is coz' it is only these three teams on the entire grid that can beat the F1 Budget Cap. How you ask? My answer is as follows:
    1. Mclaren runs an Indy Team which is not governed by F1 Budget cap allowing them to hire technical staff under that umbrella, develop parts, especially suspension geometries and aeros. They can do so unlimitedly.
    2. Ferrari and Alpine run an LMP teams in World Endurance Championships, under which they can hire technical personnel and work on just about everything including the ground effects and venturi tunnels etc. which they can do so unlimitedly as well.
Even Alpine has gained from last to mid field team after its upgrade it hasn't broken through the ranks since it's LMP car is rather technologically ordinary, hence, relatively, their improvement have been rather moderate. But where Sauber and Williams are struggling to make their upgrades works and even Aston Martin who bring massive upgrades and revisions are still lost at sea, it is Alpine who makes its upgrades work.
Teams like Mercedes, Haas, Racing Bulls and even the mighty Redbull's upgrades don't seamlessly integrate efficiently as Mclaren's, Ferrari's and Alpine's.
This is something that needs investigation.

Mclaren´Indy team is completly irrelevant for their F1 program. Is a spec series, the tracks are completly different, there is refueling, different tyre manufacturer, no floor effect aero...
More of the same for Ferrari and Alpine. Both their operations in WEC are under different organizations that have nohing to do with their F1 teams. Ferrari WEC program is under the AF Corse infraestructure, and Alpine´s under Signatech. Also the cars are completly different and share absolutly nothing in common with the F1 cars, no floor effect, different engine, different tyres, chassis... Also the cars are built for a completly different task. What you said doesnt make much sense, is like claiming that Mercedes has an advantage for their GT3 program...

Very interested to see if the SF-24 EVO has been better understood by the time we reach Monaco and if they can fully optimise what they’ve got because an obvious weak spot currently is firing up the tyres in qualifying trim.

Ferrari often have bad first weekends with major upgrades. Spain last year was pretty much a disaster. But Canada was where the season turned around.
