All of these snakes are caught locally, where people live. They help keep the population under control so that the locals don't feel the need to wipe them out completely.
That is only a very small portion of the population. Without the roundup, the population would be untenable, and people would simply pump a mixture of gas, and diesel into their dins and kill them all.
