The pitches of "oceans rise, empires fall" are swapped for NO REASON and that makes me IRRATIONALLY MAD.

I am playing this at school in Concert Band! I am 2nd B Flat Clarinet! It sounds awesome!! Especially with the trumpet!!
during the school year my schools concert band played this as a somewhat project for a student teacher who was doing work as a teacher and we did a lot of work on this song as he taught it to us and directed it on the night of the concert. I wish i got a chance to thank him more than i did before he had to leave. he was an amazing teacher.

Hope Johnson I agree. This show really isn't meant for instrumental ensembles. Too many of the melodies are spoke-sang or rapped.

I mean some of the songs are rapped and don't make sense instrumentally but they are in no way skipped by anybody

I'm playing this for my last concert in 8th grade. Everything is great, except the trumpets or super loud. They've always been super loud, and super annoying. I'm a clarinet, and they moved behind me. I didn't stop jumping every time they started playing for a month. They are so loud. The rest of the band can barely hear themselves. But our teacher was pregnant so she went off a while ago and a retired High School band teacher took over and he doesn't deal with their shit . It's awesome
end of the line lmao it’s completely different for our band. The clarinets and alto saxes are really loud and you can hardly hear the trumpets.
@@lillexandchan7590 really? Wow. How many trumpets and Altos and clarinets did you have? That could have been it, because as far as I know, us clarinets sound horrible when we play super loud. We had to be reminded to play loud. But then again we had to be heard over the trumpets. And clarinets have a naturally soft tone. We had 6 clarinets and 3 alto saxs. Saxes?

love hamilton, and our director is most likely gonna do this piece, which would be nice but me being in a percussion section with several other people when theres an actual total of about 4 individual parts where any part thats not set or mallets is about enough notes to count on your hands for this is reaaalllllyyy killing my excitement for this
Didn’t really like/know Hamilton when our band teacher told us we were going to play this for concert band last spring. Ended up loving this piece, and our teacher left which makes it even more memorable 🥲

ARE YOU FLIPPING KIDDING ME? I have only heard of this Hamilton, but I am totally BLOWN AWAY by the scoring of this suite, especially for a concert band. I simply have no clue what is going on in this suite; this may as well be a grade 4 or even a grade 5 piece, because I am completely unfamiliar with this show named Hamilton.
What happened to the 3rd trombone for like the 2/3 of the way into the piece like in the middle end of shots and not coming back in until the last song

Why is the 3rd trombone silent for so long? The composer could’ve given it the other trombone parts during Dear Theodosia but it’s literally the only wind instrument that doesn’t play. Idk it kind of bothers me :\

I LOVE Hamilton. Not a fan of this. The style of the show just doesn't translate well to instrumental ensembles.
my band is huge. we have four different bands. two concert, one symphonic, and wind ensemble. well, I'm in one of the concert bands and we were picking music for our spring concert, I suggested this but my b.d. said the other concert band already called it. And now... all those kids in the other concert band are COMPLAINING ABOUT THE DIFFICULTY AND HOW IT'S BORING!!! They picked it not the b.d. and ughhhh.....so yea Band is great
