When I used Clear Care for contacts it was great!! Then switched to total dailies which were perfect. I just had double cataract surgery with Symfony Lens implanted. No more glasses, contacts or drops! 🎉😀
Opti-free stings my eyes for first week and I can't wear my contacts longer maximun is 5hrs....what works for me is the Cliwell but it's hard to get. ...I want to see more options
I’ve been using biotrue for years, ever since it was introduced. Using it with my oasys lenses. I can wear my lenses for 12+ hours (bad, I know but I live a wild life) with no irritation or dryness. In fact I normally forget I even wear contacts. Never knew about the rubbing regime, though. Was never mentioned by my doc & I’ve been wearing contacts for 14 years! I just throw the lenses in the case and give it a little shake. I’m the worst taking care of my contacts but today I start a new chapter! Thanks for your informative vids
So happy to help Alyssa! Glad you have found a solution that works well for you. Biotrue is a good solution. Some time ago solutions would advertise that they were a NO RUB solution...but then they found bacteria was killed faster/better when people rubbed them so they stopped advertising that. Rubbing the lenses does great at breaking up protein deposits on the lenses which will allow your lenses to feel better longer...especially toward the end of their wear cycle.
I got off contacts for a few years then came back to them about a year ago and started using Opti Free Pure Moist and I swear it makes a big difference. I wear my contacts between 12-16 hours every day comfortably
Very informative video, thanks! I'm a 62 year old male and in my third week of wearing contacts (that I vowed for 48 years would never happen). I had some hard lessons to learn the first four weeks (one week I didn't wear them at all), the first week was just learning how to put them in and take them out (first set), the second week was trying to adjust to them (second set) and learned one was off (prescription) a bit, the third week reverted back to glasses waiting for new set, and finally this week (third set) learning the care and maintenance of the lenses. A LOT was left out of the orientation when converting from glasses to contacts. So thank you for a great video explaining proper maintenance, brand differences, and the do's/don'ts of caring for eyes and lenses!
To be quite honest I'm surprised that I'm not already blind. I'm not rubbing my contacts at all!! My eyes burn a lot in the morning but I thought that was due to lack of sleep. Now I think I might be needing to buy a new, not expired, bottle of solution.
Hi Doctor eye care. I wore soft contacts for 15 years, then encountered chronic conjunctivitis. I opted for RK because Lasix was in its infancy. I had 20-20 vision for 4 years. Then got presbyopia leading to hyperopia. I went back to glasses, used progressive lenses. As my prescription increased, my eyes started looking huge through the lenses. I realized that contacts had come a long way in the past 18 years and decided to try them again. After 3 attempts we settled on the Cooper Torics. I was getting a lot of glare and discomfort. Then one day I realized that I should be rubbing them and rinsing them and this changed everything. Magically I could see very well. I realized that I had higher level aberration and a doctor suggested lumify. It had the effect of lowering pressure in the eyes and making pupil just a little bit smaller which cut the nighttime glare remarkably. The lenses could still get dry and uncomfortable at times, so I started doing a late afternoon cleaning, which really helped. Then I had an epiphany, how would an ultra sound cleaner work? I realized that the more I handled the lenses the more chance of irritation my eyes when putting lenses in and the shorter the lenses would last. After going through several different brands I found one that worked remarkably well. It’s available on Amazon and eBay for around $20. It looks kind of like the sensitive eyes cleaning cases but with the addition of an ultra sound motor. No more rubbing was needed. I would run the motor through three cycles. Now I don’t do any afternoon cleanings or rarely do I need to. The lenses will last as long as six weeks. When I pull them out of the case in the morning I just put them directly into my eye and they’re perfect. Thanks for the tip on the laser. The ultrasound cleaner is truly a game changer. I can keep the lenses in my eyes for extended periods with minimal glare. They’re comfortable for a much longer period. I thought all solutions were equal until trying Bausch & Lomb solutions, which so far have worked really. I will look for it and try inserting the lenses as you suggested. Thanks for all the info. Just started using OptiFree Puremoist with my first pair of Acuvue Oasys bi-weekly lenses and I wear them over 12 hours a day. It is perfect for my eyes and very comfortable to work with. Honestly I didn't realize they came with such specific cleaning instructions! From now on I will definitely be doing that. Thank you always for your informative videos.
I got fitted today and they put them in with bio true . I’m sitting in the vision office and feeling like acid pour ed in my eyes . I turned red and just reared everywhere . Been laying here with swollen irritated eyes waiting to use my awesome contacts.

I haven’t noticed a difference between any of them. I use the multi purpose solution on a daily basis and the clear care about once a week because I feel like it’s a deeper clean
I am using B & L ReNu. It's fine, can't say I notice anything remarkable one way of the other. I wear Acuvue Oasys. I don't recall noticing Blink Revitalens (J & J) but I'll look for it and give it a try since that company makes the lenses I use. Excited to try the upcoming transition lenses...
I’ve been wearing them for 2 months now. They are pretty sweet. Definitely makes a difference without sunglasses, but the lenses combined with sunglasses is great. No squinting on sunny days.

Well, it's very interesting to see the comments and realise how different everyone's eyes are. I tried Biotrue but I absolutely hated it. My vision was blurry and I felt like the solution didn't clean the lenses properly. I swtiched to Opti-Free Pure Moist which I love so so much. It cleans the contact lenses perfectly, and I can wear them 12 hours a day without any problem or anything.
Im probably one of the outliers regarding this topic but I've spent way too much money, time and suffering trying all of the branded contact solutions so my eye specialist suggested that I try the generics available near me. Long story short- I found one! It's the only contact solution available from Winn-Dixie (transplant Floridian here) that specifically comes in the 4oz bottles.
I clean with the peroxide ( CostCo stuff ). I use 2-4 "sets" at the same time! I rotate the lens all of the time. Take one set out and use the next in line. All of the soak time is over one day! Many times I re-wash containers that traveled in the case all day. I can use the same lens "set" all day, and re-use for weeks. They stay nice and I forget they are in my eyes. Nice to have a ready fresh set for a "binge watch" session. For a long talk or session, I swap fresh lens for best feel and sight.
Just started this video and wanted to comment right away. Thank you Dr. Allen for your time and videos, it's easy to see you are passionate about proper eyecare. I've worn contacts for 25 plus years starting around 12 years of age. My eyesight is terrible and I've struggled through the years finding the right solution (pun intended) to correct my vision without problematic issues. I have very dry eyes and after an 8-10 hour work day I simply cannot come home to comfortable eyes. My eyes dry up within seconds of blinking and there is awful discomfort. I ended up spending around $500 of on some prescription Oakley frames and lenses simply to avoid contacts when indoors at home or when I do not want to use contact lenses. I chose Xtractive ESS Transition Lenses, Plutonite thin lenses, antiscratch, UV protection, and Oakley stealth pro options. They quickly added up in cost but I figured comfort and quality have no price when it comes to eye care. My glasses arrived a couple weeks ago and they are simply awesome, spending the extra money was well worth it compared to cheap frames and lenses I've owned previously. Anyways, I just wanted to say how much I appreciate your videos and enthusiasm to help others. It has actually made me think about returning to school and becoming an Optometrist because I know how valuable our health, namely our eye care is. Not being able to see correctly or comfortably is a terrible thing, and I think it's awesome to provide a service to help others regain higher quality life and living.
You know I couldn’t figure out why my contacts haven’t been comfortable lately. Several years ago I wore contacts and never had a problem with comfort. But I was using clear care, now I’m using an off brand 🤦🏻♀️. I’ve learned my lesson, I’m going to get more clear care!
Clear care plus. With a BL daily cleaner, BL saline rinse are my 3 goto care regimen for monthlies. Perfect comfort,clean and moist lenses with zero protein buildups.
My mom had a nasty eye infection that left her with a 3 day hospital stay and some vision loss. The infection was traced down to a dog who she helped treat in a vet clinic with a Pseudomonas ear infection. The dog shook its head when ear drops were applied and that's where the infection occurred. She then flew out to visit her brother and experienced irritation in her eye and visited a doctor. The doctor prescribed antibiotic eye drops and sent her back. Within the same day, she was back in the emergency room with extreme eye pain and discharge. The doctor commented that she should have used the eye drops, which she had been using more than religiously. She ended up with an antibiotic resistant Pseudomonas eye infection which left her with more permanent vision loss (she had been kicked by a horse in the face earlier in life, which had left her with less than perfect vision). I just got an infection with my contacts (which I abuse and wear much, much longer than I am supposed to) and was worried by her story. In addition, the Doc found an ulcer that had just sloughed off. Luckily, the antibiotic eye drops I was prescribed seem to be doing the trick and killing off the bacteria in my eye. I think I'm going to obey the instructions on the lenses from here forward to avoid having the vision my mother has. Thank goodness for small town eye docs knowing their stuff!!!
I use 110khz ultrasonic cleaner. Cleans the lens without having to rub it. I had Opti-Free But found Biotrue to be the best yet. Replicates tears and very comfortable.
I have RGP lenses for keratoconus and I was using Clear Care Plus. But after getting a pair of Boston XO's I switched to Boston Simplus as I find that I get better clarity and contrast from the lenses. Plus I find that the lenses are far more comfortable to wear. I'd love to see a version of this video for RGP users as I think we could use suggestions of this sort for the type of contacts that we wear.
I'm using Biotrue right now. I am looking forward to trying the transition contact lenses in a few weeks. I think i will try out matching the contact manufacturer and contact solution ^^
I had a bad case of pink eye that lasted upwards to 2 months. That was sure a learning experience how serious it is to confidently know I cleaned my contacts properly before considering putting them in. I wear Biofinity tori CooperVision contacts and use the Blink RevitaLens solution. I find Blink does okay but I have to put lubricating drops. Sure want to try that hydrogen peroxide solution you mentioned.
Thank you for doing this topic. I have often wondered if I was using the right solution with my dry eyes. I use clear care and the contacts I use are the Acuvue Vita. I like clear care because I wear makeup and lotions on my face which I am sure gets on my contacts and I feel like it cleans my contact really good. : )
@@DoctorEyeHealth I have been using the Vita for about six months now. To be honest I'm still not sure I like them. On one hand they're good for me because I tend to wear my contacts longer than I should. Once the month is up the contacts go bad so there is no way to wear then longer. On the other hand my eyes feel dry. I may go back to the acuvue oasys. I try to rule out things that I know cause my eyes to feel dry, such as being tired or temperature changes outside. I only wear my contacts for about 6 hours everyday. I REALLY hate glasses and only wear them at night. I am so happy I found you! I am learning a lot. I do ask questions at my eye exams but to be honest they never explain in detail the way you do. Your last video was REALLY GOOD. I use systane ultra eye drops and I wasn't aware of the systane complete which I plan on trying. : )

The moment when you realize you definitely haven't been cleaning your lenses correctly. I will definitely be purchasing the blink brand soon. I am actually a little disturbed I have been treating my eyes so poorly for all these years. Side note: I use the Blink contacts lubricating eye drops (in the green package) every morning when I put my contacts in (one drop in each lens before I put them in my eyes) and that has made the biggest difference with preventing my eyes from getting dry throughout the day.

They are my favorite lenses so far, probably partially because the lenses I wore for two years didn't fit my eye properly and moved every time I blinked. I switched eye doctors and got these new lenses close to a year ago and have felt so much better ever since!
I use Optifree & just started Clear Care Plus. Both have hydrogylde cause my contacts have them. so I use both, clear care to deep clean them once a week & optifree as my daily use, travel with and an emergency take with, clean them, put back in if I get dirt or irritation mid day.
I just started using contacts. Thanks for helping me understand how to use and care for them, Doc. This was a good video for me. It was careful, patient, methodical, and clear. That's why I subscribed. Good style. Oh, and I am tending more toward the ClearCare Hydroglide with the weird vertical case, btw. Have to leave it the full 6 hours, but it works pretty good. Peace

Can never have enough of Dr. Eye Health’s vids and teachings! I’d like to see more of Coopervision’s making solutions because they’ve got great lenses as well. On a side note, I’ve seen a solution based on Aloe Vera in Europe but never gave it try, though. Also, I hope Blinkist make it to Brazil soon.
I’m using Bio True and it does pretty well for me. I typically wear my Alcon Air Optix lenses 16 hours a day. Thinking I may try Opti Free Pure moist and see if that makes them even more comfortable.

I'm glad I follow your channel. I made the mistake of buying one of those target " with the same active ingredients" ones and I'm it was terrible. I had to throw the whole thing out because it's based on an old replica of the clear care solution without the hydraglyde. My wearing time became drastically shorter and I had persistent irritation. I tossed out the budget solution and I'm going back to clear care plus with hydraglyde.
The two that work best for me both Alcon's Opti-Free puremoist with HydraGlyde and the Clear Care Plus with HydraGlyde. I switch off between the two, depending on my schedule and if I feel like rubbing them or not lol. That being said, I also wear Alcon Air Optix Aqua Night & Day contact lenses. Best contacts/solution(s) combination for my eyes period. I even went back from daily lenses to the Air Optix Aqua Night & Day monthly lenses because they're that much better for me.
I used optic free pure moist my monthly contact lens are b&l softlens 59 At first, it’s work but two times three times later it didnt work I also felt the lens hard irritated my eyes. Now I choose to wear daily contact lens it’s the best for me. :)
I used to wear contact lenses while having chronic dry eye for years. When I went to the eye doctor, he said I have scars on my corneas. He didn’t say what may have caused the scars. I asked him if it had anything to do with my contact lenses feeling uncomfortable because of dry eye. He said dry eye shouldn’t matter that I can still wear them. So I disagreed with him and stopped wearing contact lenses altogether and went back to wearing glasses. For years, I have to rub my eyes a lot to get them open when I wake up in the morning. So after two years of not wearing contact lenses, the eye doctor said I had NO MORE new scars on my corneas. I seriously believe the contact lenses were the cause of the scars. What do you think?
Hi there , I'm not sure if the terminology has been used correctly by your doctor A scar does not resolve and stays permanently It sound more like patches of dryness on your cornea , scientific name it's Superficial punctate staining Opticians use a yellow dye to stain the cornea and it shows up patches/areas of dryness It may have been this that your doctor told you about I hope that helped you
I agree that true corneal scarring shouldn't improve on its own...however contact lenses can for sure cause scarring on the eye, but those are more common from rigid lenses or from contact lens related infections. Hopefully, I will have a video on Fuchs dystrophy sometime soon.
Doctor Eye Health thank you for your response. I did have the more rigid contact lenses at that time. Each time I took them out, they would be bone dry. My contact lenses would start feeling uncomfortable after one or two hours wearing them. I don’t think contact lenses and dry eyes are a good mix.
I use Acuve Oasys with Clear Care Triple Action and it's the best combo ever! I want to use Hydraglyde but it causes haziness for some reason; from my research it is common for some users. Have you ever experienced this with patients?

Yes way back when they used to make Solutions with thimerosal i was experiencing dryness and pain and bloodahot eyes and the technition was telling me that i probably was not taking care of my very expensive 300 dollar toric lenses and one night i felt like a needle was stuck in my eye and i went to the emergancy room and the doctor told me that i had a ulcer on my cornia. And he was the one that told me that i was allergic to the thimerasol in the contact solution and he gave me antibiotc drops and told me not to wear my contacts for at least 2 or 3 weeks and to change solutions . It was the best thing that happend. I wish the Eye Doctor and technician would have told me that stuff when i went in complaining of that stuff. That was 40 years ago. Thanks for all of your videos.
Clear Care says specifically to NOT PUT DIRECTLY IN EYE, so I didn't. But what I did do is drip it IN THE CONTACT and then put the contact into my eye. OMG. I thought I'd die! Definitely one of my most favorite solutions, ever, but I keep a shorter soak solutions on hand, as well.
I used to use Opti Free Puremoist with my Acuvue Oasys lenses but eventually my eyes got irritated by the solution and my contacts dried out quickly. Then I switched to Bio True and my contacts are much more comfortable with barely any dryness. But after watching this video, I'm thinking about switching to Revitalens because it is made by the same company as Acuvue. Maybe I'm missing out on some extra comfort that I could be having
Might be worth the try. But as I mentioned, there is no nonbiased studies confirming one solution is better than the other. Have you considered switching to daily lenses?
From your post, it sounds like your lenses and Bio True are a good combo. That's what I settled on after trying a bunch of solutions. (I wear Acuvue Oasys 2 week.) I tried Revitalens and it was ok. PureMoist and Opti-Free about the same as Revitalens. Then I tried the Bausch & Lomb solutions. First, Re-nu and found it to be much better than the others for me. Then I tried Bio True and what a dream! For each person it will be be different, but I definitely see a trend of Bio True being an excellent fit for many people.
Clear care is great! Cleans them well and keeps them hydrated when done right, but sometimes the 6 hours isn’t enough time, so go 7 instead of 6(it hurts like heck if it burns you like seriously) but other than that it keeps you healthy
Oh yeah! If you put it in too early it can cause a chemical burn to the eye. We see a good handful of people a year from that. Usually pretty minor though.
dude, I used a normal case with the clear care once without thinking about it. Miserable experience, i'm lucky I was able to quickly get the contact out of my eye quickly.
Wished I stumbled on this video before buying (to save me the agony of picking) but glad I ended up picking up one of the solutions you recommended 🙂 Will try others when I run out to compare which I prefer. Thanks for the information~
I used the clear care hydraglyde stuff.... and lord I will NEVER ever use it again. It gave me a chemical burn on my eye. My fault tho. But I will never do it again. After watching your video on the opti free solution, I have never gone back! Thanks!
I tried Blink and Biotrue solutions before and I find that Biotrue works really well for me. Not only makes my contacts clean, but it refreshes. The reason why is because it mimics the tear in your eyes.
I wear the acuvue vita and use optifree pure moist. I’ve never rubbed or rinsed my contacts. I also wear my contacts almost non stop. Sometimes I’ll wear them a week straight. Luckily have never had an issue.
Clear Care all the way, I can't stand any other type of solution. However the cases can wear out before the solution does so you may need to buy a new bottle before you run out.
Allergan was one of the best brands and another I can’t remember. I haven’t worn lenses in 15 years. It used a disk and do solution that activated to clean the protein off. Wonderful stuff. Worked great.
Clear Care plus with hydraglide and I add a drop or 2 of opti free pro moisturizing lens drops while the contacts sit overnight. Contacts I use are Biofinity toric.
@@DoctorEyeHealth actually it was the ophthalmologist who recommended this after I suffered a severe case of uveitis. It does help with the dryness. However, I cannot keep my contacts in for more than 8 hours since the infection. Not ideal but maybe Lasik someday
Iv been using Renu and Biotrue for a long time, but never have I ever cleaned my lens for 10 or 20 seconds 😂. I dont even rinse for 10 seconds (more like 2 seconds and let it sit in my palms for a few more). Also, iv been cleaning BEFORE I put them in my eye, not when I take them out. Yes im backwards but iv been doing it this way for 26 years with no issues. I need to retry the 3rd option you showed! I've only used it once many years ago. And I will try to clean it first before I put them in the case. Ill see how that works lol.
Beer works well as standby, it comes sealed and only a small amount is needed leaving the remainder of the container for quenching the thirst. The bubbles agitate the lenses and the alcohol has to be a plus point as alcohol wipes are use before injections right? I've worked around the world and beer can be substituted for so many things, drinking water for example.

I know you are going to judge me, but I rarely need a solution, because I wear PureVision 2 extended wear lenses for usually a month straight. So I just need it sometimes when I get some discomfort (which rarely happens) or if the lens falls out
I would be terrified if I wore contacts for that long. I’ve lost a lens in my eye once and it was the scariest 5 minutes of my life. 😂 it was a colored lens so I saw the little edge of it near my eyelid and slowly got it out.
I’ve been wearing Cooper Biofinity and all along have been using Revitalens Blink to clean them before putting them in Clear Care to disinfect. I do this on Sunday as I put my lenses in Monday morning & leave them in all week, taking them out on Sunday. I came from the early days when you had a little bottle of soap to clean the lenses, aerosol saline to rinse them then having to do the enzyme cleaner once a week. Clear care is awesome! I can’t handle preservatives like thimerisol, it’s very irritating to my eyes
Thanks for the video! I’ve got a question that perhaps you can answer. I have a very high prescription (-8.5). Every few months my daughter likes to go to the swimming pool. Traditionally I’ve worn my 2 week disposable contacts in the swimming pool so I can see and supervise her. After the swim I garbage the contacts and proceed with a new pair. Should I really avoid doing this? Suggestions?
Well any contact with water (even pool water) is ill-advised with contact lens wear as it greatly increases chance of infection. Best to consider a prescription pair of swim goggles. You can usually order these through a local optical.
Question: when you talk about rinsing the lenses for a certain amount of time, do you mean you’re squeezing the solution out over the lenses that whole time? Or do you pour some on them and let them sit for that amount of time?
Technically, you are supposed to spray the lenses with the solution from the bottle. If you actually follow the directions per the bottle...it ends up being a lot lol
When I wore typical 30-day contacts I only used the clear care solution. I loved the quick & easy use for it though on the day's I was up studying late I have been stung haha Do you have any videos or comments on the contact subscription services? I've tried 1 or 2 but my next eye appointment, next month, I'm going to see if they have Acuvue transitions which I'm very excited about!
There are some subscriptions services that I hear people like, however...although their prices sound good, if you calculate out how much you spend for the convenience...you often save more just buying a 1 year supply from an eye clinic using rebates. I hope to have full review videos some time soon.
I made the mistake of rinsing with the clear care. Burned so so bad. I didn't know and kept them in. After taking the contacts out my vision was severely hazy. I was so worried. Luckily after seeing my Dr and a few days of eyedrops things got better. FOLLOW DIRECTIONS PEOPLE I ALMOST BLINDED MYSELF!
The Clear Care Plus Hydraglyde made me laugh in a good way. This is because I actually grabbed it from Walmart wanting to try it, because I noticed that my contacts were making one of my eyes dry, just before watching this video that night. So the laugh was more of an ironic one because of the timing.
I use clear Care with Biofinity Toric works Really well I've tried some of the other solutions and my eyes don't get as dry or irritated with clear care.
I love hydrogen peroxide solution more than any other solution, especially the one he was holding. It is the best one I have used, and I have been wearing contacts for 19 years. With that being said, you BETTER let them sit in the case it came with for 6 hours because that burn will have you jumping up and down, trying to pull that contact out of your eye while your eye is involuntarily trying to close, and is something I don't want anybody to experience. The pain is no joke and your eye will be red the entire day.

I wear Bausch & Lomb’s Ultra w/ MoistureSeal. I use the same cleaning solution as you. I don’t feel my contacts are getting clean. What are your thoughts on protein removers?
I wore contacts a couple years back and opti free started burning my eyes when I would put my contacts on, I am stating to wear contacts again and I got a trial of opti free, so far no burning but I do make sure to try to knock off as much as I can off of it
I use biotrue. And I also appreciate that they include a lens case and a coupon within the package lol. I have no idea what brand makes my lenses because they are custom made since I have degenerative myopia and my vision is like -20/60 or something like that. I think one of my eyes is even worse
Honestly, it just rewetting them to rinse off or re-insert. Almost any of the basic multi-purpose solutions would work well. Clearcare would NOT work for that case. But Clearcare does have a rinsing/rewetting product too.

Hi Doc! Great video as usual! I recently went to my doctor because of some discomfort I felt while wearing contacts! He told me that years of wearing them made my eyes a bit dry and that he could see the damage after putting the colorant solution (I really don’t know what I’m talking about haha). He advised me to do a break for one month and gave me medications (anti inflammatory and hydrating) . I forgot to ask him, is this damage irreversible? I feel bad for the possibility of having damaged my eyes even just a little bit! I was too young when I started wearing them and didn’t understand the risk of overuse!!
As far as I understand you can become intolerant to certain contact lens material even after many years. Might be a bit late now - but have you considered switching lens solution? I,m sure the Doc will clarify this though :) Hope you can find something that works for you!
Robert Wells What my doctor said is that the overuse caused the quality of the tears to become poorer, so I don’t know if this is my case but I surely heard of that too! I haven’t tried changing liquid but anyways when I’ll go back to contacts I will make sure to change type and use products for drier eyes so that the issue is taken care for! Thank you so much for the advice cause I will still look into it and try speaking about it with the optician well I’ll get new contacts :)

If your able to go back to lenses I would ask your Doctor if you can try another lens to help with dryness and also perhaps consider switching to Clear Care. (if your in the US). If that does not get you back into wearing lenses you could try seeing another eye Doctor just for a second opinion
Robert Wells Yes that’s what he said. That it’s just a matter of finding the right moisturizing drops once I’ll be back to wearing them. For now he has put me on anti inflammatory because the eyes were irritated! I will surely take your advice into account because I need to change contacts for sure, I was told the ones I wore aren’t the most hydrating (the Acuvue 2)! I’m from Italy so I’ll try to find something that can compare to what you are talking about! The doubt I had is if these damaged areas that he saw will improve but we will see!! Thanks again!
@@chiaralombardo8380 It may be called something else. For example, in the UK it is marketed as AOsept Plus. But it is the same product. If you cannot find it in Italy just look for a hydrogen peroxide solution. Good luck!

When I used Clear Care for contacts it was great!! Then switched to total dailies which were perfect. I just had double cataract surgery with Symfony Lens implanted. No more glasses, contacts or drops! 🎉😀
Opti-free stings my eyes for first week and I can't wear my contacts longer maximun is 5hrs....what works for me is the Cliwell but it's hard to get. ...I want to see more options
I’ve been using biotrue for years, ever since it was introduced. Using it with my oasys lenses. I can wear my lenses for 12+ hours (bad, I know but I live a wild life) with no irritation or dryness. In fact I normally forget I even wear contacts.
Never knew about the rubbing regime, though. Was never mentioned by my doc & I’ve been wearing contacts for 14 years! I just throw the lenses in the case and give it a little shake. I’m the worst taking care of my contacts but today I start a new chapter! Thanks for your informative vids
So happy to help Alyssa! Glad you have found a solution that works well for you. Biotrue is a good solution. Some time ago solutions would advertise that they were a NO RUB solution...but then they found bacteria was killed faster/better when people rubbed them so they stopped advertising that. Rubbing the lenses does great at breaking up protein deposits on the lenses which will allow your lenses to feel better longer...especially toward the end of their wear cycle.
I got off contacts for a few years then came back to them about a year ago and started using Opti Free Pure Moist and I swear it makes a big difference. I wear my contacts between 12-16 hours every day comfortably

Very informative video, thanks! I'm a 62 year old male and in my third week of wearing contacts (that I vowed for 48 years would never happen). I had some hard lessons to learn the first four weeks (one week I didn't wear them at all), the first week was just learning how to put them in and take them out (first set), the second week was trying to adjust to them (second set) and learned one was off (prescription) a bit, the third week reverted back to glasses waiting for new set, and finally this week (third set) learning the care and maintenance of the lenses. A LOT was left out of the orientation when converting from glasses to contacts. So thank you for a great video explaining proper maintenance, brand differences, and the do's/don'ts of caring for eyes and lenses!

To be quite honest I'm surprised that I'm not already blind. I'm not rubbing my contacts at all!! My eyes burn a lot in the morning but I thought that was due to lack of sleep. Now I think I might be needing to buy a new, not expired, bottle of solution.
Hi Doctor eye care. I wore soft contacts for 15 years, then encountered chronic conjunctivitis. I opted for RK because Lasix was in its infancy. I had 20-20 vision for 4 years. Then got presbyopia leading to hyperopia. I went back to glasses, used progressive lenses. As my prescription increased, my eyes started looking huge through the lenses. I realized that contacts had come a long way in the past 18 years and decided to try them again. After 3 attempts we settled on the Cooper Torics. I was getting a lot of glare and discomfort. Then one day I realized that I should be rubbing them and rinsing them and this changed everything. Magically I could see very well. I realized that I had higher level aberration and a doctor suggested lumify. It had the effect of lowering pressure in the eyes and making pupil just a little bit smaller which cut the nighttime glare remarkably. The lenses could still get dry and uncomfortable at times, so I started doing a late afternoon cleaning, which really helped. Then I had an epiphany, how would an ultra sound cleaner work? I realized that the more I handled the lenses the more chance of irritation my eyes when putting lenses in and the shorter the lenses would last. After going through several different brands I found one that worked remarkably well. It’s available on Amazon and eBay for around $20. It looks kind of like the sensitive eyes cleaning cases but with the addition of an ultra sound motor. No more rubbing was needed. I would run the motor through three cycles. Now I don’t do any afternoon cleanings or rarely do I need to. The lenses will last as long as six weeks. When I pull them out of the case in the morning I just put them directly into my eye and they’re perfect. Thanks for the tip on the laser. The ultrasound cleaner is truly a game changer. I can keep the lenses in my eyes for extended periods with minimal glare. They’re comfortable for a much longer period. I thought all solutions were equal until trying Bausch & Lomb solutions, which so far have worked really. I will look for it and try inserting the lenses as you suggested. Thanks for all the info. Keep up the great work.
I use the BioTrue solution because it's comfortable with no burning and I have no dryness for the full 16 hrs.! I don't always wear them that long!

Just started using OptiFree Puremoist with my first pair of Acuvue Oasys bi-weekly lenses and I wear them over 12 hours a day. It is perfect for my eyes and very comfortable to work with. Honestly I didn't realize they came with such specific cleaning instructions! From now on I will definitely be doing that. Thank you always for your informative videos.
I got fitted today and they put them in with bio true . I’m sitting in the vision office and feeling like acid pour ed in my eyes . I turned red and just reared everywhere . Been laying here with swollen irritated eyes waiting to use my awesome contacts.
I had that experience with biotrue also!
After following these tips I have improved my experience and I now love my lenses thanks doc.

I use the multi purpose solution on a daily basis and the clear care about once a week because I feel like it’s a deeper clean
I am using B & L ReNu. It's fine, can't say I notice anything remarkable one way of the other. I wear Acuvue Oasys. I don't recall noticing Blink Revitalens (J & J) but I'll look for it and give it a try since that company makes the lenses I use. Excited to try the upcoming transition lenses...
I’ve been wearing them for 2 months now. They are pretty sweet. Definitely makes a difference without sunglasses, but the lenses combined with sunglasses is great. No squinting on sunny days.

Biotrue works the best for comfort and dry eye. I've tried all of these. Optifree is okay. But nothing beats biotrue
Well, it's very interesting to see the comments and realise how different everyone's eyes are. I tried Biotrue but I absolutely hated it. My vision was blurry and I felt like the solution didn't clean the lenses properly. I swtiched to Opti-Free Pure Moist which I love so so much. It cleans the contact lenses perfectly, and I can wear them 12 hours a day without any problem or anything.
Im probably one of the outliers regarding this topic but I've spent way too much money, time and suffering trying all of the branded contact solutions so my eye specialist suggested that I try the generics available near me. Long story short- I found one! It's the only contact solution available from Winn-Dixie (transplant Floridian here) that specifically comes in the 4oz bottles.

I clean with the peroxide ( CostCo stuff ). I use 2-4 "sets" at the same time! I rotate the lens all of the time. Take one set out and use the next in line. All of the soak time is over one day! Many times I re-wash containers that traveled in the case all day. I can use the same lens "set" all day, and re-use for weeks. They stay nice and I forget they are in my eyes. Nice to have a ready fresh set for a "binge watch" session. For a long talk or session, I swap fresh lens for best feel and sight.
Just started this video and wanted to comment right away. Thank you Dr. Allen for your time and videos, it's easy to see you are passionate about proper eyecare. I've worn contacts for 25 plus years starting around 12 years of age. My eyesight is terrible and I've struggled through the years finding the right solution (pun intended) to correct my vision without problematic issues. I have very dry eyes and after an 8-10 hour work day I simply cannot come home to comfortable eyes. My eyes dry up within seconds of blinking and there is awful discomfort. I ended up spending around $500 of on some prescription Oakley frames and lenses simply to avoid contacts when indoors at home or when I do not want to use contact lenses. I chose Xtractive ESS Transition Lenses, Plutonite thin lenses, antiscratch, UV protection, and Oakley stealth pro options. They quickly added up in cost but I figured comfort and quality have no price when it comes to eye care. My glasses arrived a couple weeks ago and they are simply awesome, spending the extra money was well worth it compared to cheap frames and lenses I've owned previously. Anyways, I just wanted to say how much I appreciate your videos and enthusiasm to help others. It has actually made me think about returning to school and becoming an Optometrist because I know how valuable our health, namely our eye care is. Not being able to see correctly or comfortably is a terrible thing, and I think it's awesome to provide a service to help others regain higher quality life and living.
You know I couldn’t figure out why my contacts haven’t been comfortable lately. Several years ago I wore contacts and never had a problem with comfort. But I was using clear care, now I’m using an off brand 🤦🏻♀️. I’ve learned my lesson, I’m going to get more clear care!
Clear care plus. With a BL daily cleaner, BL saline rinse are my 3 goto care regimen for monthlies. Perfect comfort,clean and moist lenses with zero protein buildups.

I use Opti-Free with my Biofinity lenses and it's the best combination I have had so far!
My mom had a nasty eye infection that left her with a 3 day hospital stay and some vision loss. The infection was traced down to a dog who she helped treat in a vet clinic with a Pseudomonas ear infection. The dog shook its head when ear drops were applied and that's where the infection occurred. She then flew out to visit her brother and experienced irritation in her eye and visited a doctor. The doctor prescribed antibiotic eye drops and sent her back. Within the same day, she was back in the emergency room with extreme eye pain and discharge. The doctor commented that she should have used the eye drops, which she had been using more than religiously. She ended up with an antibiotic resistant Pseudomonas eye infection which left her with more permanent vision loss (she had been kicked by a horse in the face earlier in life, which had left her with less than perfect vision). I just got an infection with my contacts (which I abuse and wear much, much longer than I am supposed to) and was worried by her story. In addition, the Doc found an ulcer that had just sloughed off. Luckily, the antibiotic eye drops I was prescribed seem to be doing the trick and killing off the bacteria in my eye. I think I'm going to obey the instructions on the lenses from here forward to avoid having the vision my mother has. Thank goodness for small town eye docs knowing their stuff!!!
I use 110khz ultrasonic cleaner. Cleans the lens without having to rub it. I had Opti-Free But found Biotrue to be the best yet. Replicates tears and very comfortable.
I have RGP lenses for keratoconus and I was using Clear Care Plus. But after getting a pair of Boston XO's I switched to Boston Simplus as I find that I get better clarity and contrast from the lenses. Plus I find that the lenses are far more comfortable to wear. I'd love to see a version of this video for RGP users as I think we could use suggestions of this sort for the type of contacts that we wear.
I to wear Boston xo2 multifocals and i love rgp lenses ...vision is so much sharper.

I had a bad case of pink eye that lasted upwards to 2 months. That was sure a learning experience how serious it is to confidently know I cleaned my contacts properly before considering putting them in.
I wear Biofinity tori CooperVision contacts and use the Blink RevitaLens solution. I find Blink does okay but I have to put lubricating drops. Sure want to try that hydrogen peroxide solution you mentioned.

Thank you for doing this topic. I have often wondered if I was using the right solution with my dry eyes. I use clear care and the contacts I use are the Acuvue Vita. I like clear care because I wear makeup and lotions on my face which I am sure gets on my contacts and I feel like it cleans my contact really good. : )
Yeah I see a lot of people with makeup floating the in the tear film. I think clearcare works really well. How do you like the Acuvue Vita?
@@DoctorEyeHealth I have been using the Vita for about six months now. To be honest I'm still not sure I like them. On one hand they're good for me because I tend to wear my contacts longer than I should. Once the month is up the contacts go bad so there is no way to wear then longer. On the other hand my eyes feel dry. I may go back to the acuvue oasys. I try to rule out things that I know cause my eyes to feel dry, such as being tired or temperature changes outside. I only wear my contacts for about 6 hours everyday. I REALLY hate glasses and only wear them at night. I am so happy I found you! I am learning a lot. I do ask questions at my eye exams but to be honest they never explain in detail the way you do. Your last video was REALLY GOOD. I use systane ultra eye drops and I wasn't aware of the systane complete which I plan on trying. : )

The moment when you realize you definitely haven't been cleaning your lenses correctly. I will definitely be purchasing the blink brand soon. I am actually a little disturbed I have been treating my eyes so poorly for all these years. Side note: I use the Blink contacts lubricating eye drops (in the green package) every morning when I put my contacts in (one drop in each lens before I put them in my eyes) and that has made the biggest difference with preventing my eyes from getting dry throughout the day.
Thats great to hear your dryness isnt as bad with the drops. Out of curiosity, which brand of lenses do you wear?

They are my favorite lenses so far, probably partially because the lenses I wore for two years didn't fit my eye properly and moved every time I blinked. I switched eye doctors and got these new lenses close to a year ago and have felt so much better ever since!
I use Optifree & just started Clear Care Plus. Both have hydrogylde cause my contacts have them. so I use both, clear care to deep clean them once a week & optifree as my daily use, travel with and an emergency take with, clean them, put back in if I get dirt or irritation mid day.

I just started using contacts. Thanks for helping me understand how to use and care for them, Doc. This was a good video for me. It was careful, patient, methodical, and clear. That's why I subscribed. Good style. Oh, and I am tending more toward the ClearCare Hydroglide with the weird vertical case, btw. Have to leave it the full 6 hours, but it works pretty good. Peace

I’m using Bio True and it does pretty well for me. I typically wear my Alcon Air Optix lenses 16 hours a day. Thinking I may try Opti Free Pure moist and see if that makes them even more comfortable.

I'm glad I follow your channel. I made the mistake of buying one of those target " with the same active ingredients" ones and I'm it was terrible. I had to throw the whole thing out because it's based on an old replica of the clear care solution without the hydraglyde. My wearing time became drastically shorter and I had persistent irritation. I tossed out the budget solution and I'm going back to clear care plus with hydraglyde.
Sorry it didn’t work out, but hopefully your eyes will love the switch back!
The two that work best for me both Alcon's Opti-Free puremoist with HydraGlyde and the Clear Care Plus with HydraGlyde.
I switch off between the two, depending on my schedule and if I feel like rubbing them or not lol.
That being said, I also wear Alcon Air Optix Aqua Night & Day contact lenses. Best contacts/solution(s) combination for my eyes period. I even went back from daily lenses to the Air Optix Aqua Night & Day monthly lenses because they're that much better for me.
I used optic free pure moist my monthly contact lens are b&l softlens 59 At first, it’s work but two times three times later it didnt work I also felt the lens hard irritated my eyes. Now I choose to wear daily contact lens it’s the best for me. :)
I used to wear contact lenses while having chronic dry eye for years. When I went to the eye doctor, he said I have scars on my corneas. He didn’t say what may have caused the scars. I asked him if it had anything to do with my contact lenses feeling uncomfortable because of dry eye. He said dry eye shouldn’t matter that I can still wear them. So I disagreed with him and stopped wearing contact lenses altogether and went back to wearing glasses. For years, I have to rub my eyes a lot to get them open when I wake up in the morning. So after two years of not wearing contact lenses, the eye doctor said I had NO MORE new scars on my corneas. I seriously believe the contact lenses were the cause of the scars. What do you think?

A scar does not resolve and stays permanently
It sound more like patches of dryness on your cornea , scientific name it's Superficial punctate staining
Opticians use a yellow dye to stain the cornea and it shows up patches/areas of dryness
It may have been this that your doctor told you about

Oni Akuma the doctor called it “Fuchs Syndrome.” The doctor said I had no NEW scars. But the old ones are still there.
@@RevElaineNjerveZack7 Fuch's is a genetic, progreasive cornea condition. It does not attribute to dry eye and not a result of contact wear.
I agree that true corneal scarring shouldn't improve on its own...however contact lenses can for sure cause scarring on the eye, but those are more common from rigid lenses or from contact lens related infections. Hopefully, I will have a video on Fuchs dystrophy sometime soon.
Doctor Eye Health thank you for your response. I did have the more rigid contact lenses at that time. Each time I took them out, they would be bone dry. My contact lenses would start feeling uncomfortable after one or two hours wearing them. I don’t think contact lenses and dry eyes are a good mix.

Yes way back when they used to make Solutions with thimerosal i was experiencing dryness and pain and bloodahot eyes and the technition was telling me that i probably was not taking care of my very expensive 300 dollar toric lenses and one night i felt like a needle was stuck in my eye and i went to the emergancy room and the doctor told me that i had a ulcer on my cornia. And he was the one that told me that i was allergic to the thimerasol in the contact solution and he gave me antibiotc drops and told me not to wear my contacts for at least 2 or 3 weeks and to change solutions . It was the best thing that happend. I wish the Eye Doctor and technician would have told me that stuff when i went in complaining of that stuff. That was 40 years ago. Thanks for all of your videos.
Clear Care says specifically to NOT PUT DIRECTLY IN EYE, so I didn't. But what I did do is drip it IN THE CONTACT and then put the contact into my eye. OMG. I thought I'd die! Definitely one of my most favorite solutions, ever, but I keep a shorter soak solutions on hand, as well.
I have worn Accuvue monthly for many years. After watching your videos I ordered Accuvue 1 day lenses and am waiting for the mail delivery as I type
I used to use Opti Free Puremoist with my Acuvue Oasys lenses but eventually my eyes got irritated by the solution and my contacts dried out quickly. Then I switched to Bio True and my contacts are much more comfortable with barely any dryness. But after watching this video, I'm thinking about switching to Revitalens because it is made by the same company as Acuvue. Maybe I'm missing out on some extra comfort that I could be having
Might be worth the try. But as I mentioned, there is no nonbiased studies confirming one solution is better than the other. Have you considered switching to daily lenses?
From your post, it sounds like your lenses and Bio True are a good combo. That's what I settled on after trying a bunch of solutions. (I wear Acuvue Oasys 2 week.) I tried Revitalens and it was ok. PureMoist and Opti-Free about the same as Revitalens. Then I tried the Bausch & Lomb solutions. First, Re-nu and found it to be much better than the others for me. Then I tried Bio True and what a dream! For each person it will be be different, but I definitely see a trend of Bio True being an excellent fit for many people.
Clear care is great! Cleans them well and keeps them hydrated when done right, but sometimes the 6 hours isn’t enough time, so go 7 instead of 6(it hurts like heck if it burns you like seriously) but other than that it keeps you healthy
Oh yeah! If you put it in too early it can cause a chemical burn to the eye. We see a good handful of people a year from that. Usually pretty minor though.
dude, I used a normal case with the clear care once without thinking about it. Miserable experience, i'm lucky I was able to quickly get the contact out of my eye quickly.

I tried Blink and Biotrue solutions before and I find that Biotrue works really well for me. Not only makes my contacts clean, but it refreshes. The reason why is because it mimics the tear in your eyes.
I wear the acuvue vita and use optifree pure moist. I’ve never rubbed or rinsed my contacts. I also wear my contacts almost non stop. Sometimes I’ll wear them a week straight. Luckily have never had an issue.
Lucky! I have seen people get an ulcer off of just wearing a lens for 1 day! you must have some tough corneas.

Clear Care all the way, I can't stand any other type of solution. However the cases can wear out before the solution does so you may need to buy a new bottle before you run out.
That is true, you do need to replace the case.
That's odd. I have never had a container wear out before the bottle was empty and I've been using it for several years.
@@onemorecast3913 I may not always do the rinsing step before hand. Also the Walmart off brand works well but it runs into this issue more often.
Allergan was one of the best brands and another I can’t remember. I haven’t worn lenses in 15 years. It used a disk and do solution that activated to clean the protein off. Wonderful stuff. Worked great.
Clear Care plus with hydraglide and I add a drop or 2 of opti free pro moisturizing lens drops while the contacts sit overnight. Contacts I use are Biofinity toric.
thats interesting. Is there a reason you add the opti free? Did you come up with that on your own or did someone tell you to do that?
@@DoctorEyeHealth actually it was the ophthalmologist who recommended this after I suffered a severe case of uveitis. It does help with the dryness. However, I cannot keep my contacts in for more than 8 hours since the infection. Not ideal but maybe Lasik someday
I like pure moist. Not sure what brand my pro clear contact lenses are but it’s been working for me. I haven’t been rubbing them. I only soak them.

Iv been using Renu and Biotrue for a long time, but never have I ever cleaned my lens for 10 or 20 seconds 😂. I dont even rinse for 10 seconds (more like 2 seconds and let it sit in my palms for a few more). Also, iv been cleaning BEFORE I put them in my eye, not when I take them out. Yes im backwards but iv been doing it this way for 26 years with no issues.
I need to retry the 3rd option you showed! I've only used it once many years ago. And I will try to clean it first before I put them in the case. Ill see how that works lol.
Beer works well as standby, it comes sealed and only a small amount is needed leaving the remainder of the container for quenching the thirst. The bubbles agitate the lenses and the alcohol has to be a plus point as alcohol wipes are use before injections right? I've worked around the world and beer can be substituted for so many things, drinking water for example.

I know you are going to judge me, but I rarely need a solution, because I wear PureVision 2 extended wear lenses for usually a month straight. So I just need it sometimes when I get some discomfort (which rarely happens) or if the lens falls out
I would be terrified if I wore contacts for that long. I’ve lost a lens in my eye once and it was the scariest 5 minutes of my life. 😂 it was a colored lens so I saw the little edge of it near my eyelid and slowly got it out.
You must have some really tough corneas...and very lucky.
Looks like the Blink Revitalens was rebranded as Acuvue Revitalens. It's a bit hard to find
I’ve been wearing Cooper Biofinity and all along have been using Revitalens Blink to clean them before putting them in Clear Care to disinfect. I do this on Sunday as I put my lenses in Monday morning & leave them in all week, taking them out on Sunday. I came from the early days when you had a little bottle of soap to clean the lenses, aerosol saline to rinse them then having to do the enzyme cleaner once a week. Clear care is awesome! I can’t handle preservatives like thimerisol, it’s very irritating to my eyes
Thanks for the video! I’ve got a question that perhaps you can answer. I have a very high prescription (-8.5). Every few months my daughter likes to go to the swimming pool. Traditionally I’ve worn my 2 week disposable contacts in the swimming pool so I can see and supervise her. After the swim I garbage the contacts and proceed with a new pair. Should I really avoid doing this? Suggestions?
Well any contact with water (even pool water) is ill-advised with contact lens wear as it greatly increases chance of infection. Best to consider a prescription pair of swim goggles. You can usually order these through a local optical.
Question: when you talk about rinsing the lenses for a certain amount of time, do you mean you’re squeezing the solution out over the lenses that whole time? Or do you pour some on them and let them sit for that amount of time?
Technically, you are supposed to spray the lenses with the solution from the bottle. If you actually follow the directions per the bottle...it ends up being a lot lol
When I wore typical 30-day contacts I only used the clear care solution. I loved the quick & easy use for it though on the day's I was up studying late I have been stung haha Do you have any videos or comments on the contact subscription services? I've tried 1 or 2 but my next eye appointment, next month, I'm going to see if they have Acuvue transitions which I'm very excited about!
There are some subscriptions services that I hear people like, however...although their prices sound good, if you calculate out how much you spend for the convenience...you often save more just buying a 1 year supply from an eye clinic using rebates. I hope to have full review videos some time soon.

I made the mistake of rinsing with the clear care. Burned so so bad. I didn't know and kept them in. After taking the contacts out my vision was severely hazy. I was so worried. Luckily after seeing my Dr and a few days of eyedrops things got better. FOLLOW DIRECTIONS PEOPLE I ALMOST BLINDED MYSELF!

The Clear Care Plus Hydraglyde made me laugh in a good way. This is because I actually grabbed it from Walmart wanting to try it, because I noticed that my contacts were making one of my eyes dry, just before watching this video that night. So the laugh was more of an ironic one because of the timing.
I use clear Care with Biofinity Toric works Really well I've tried some of the other solutions and my eyes don't get as dry or irritated with clear care.
I love hydrogen peroxide solution more than any other solution, especially the one he was holding. It is the best one I have used, and I have been wearing contacts for 19 years. With that being said, you BETTER let them sit in the case it came with for 6 hours because that burn will have you jumping up and down, trying to pull that contact out of your eye while your eye is involuntarily trying to close, and is something I don't want anybody to experience. The pain is no joke and your eye will be red the entire day.

Hmmm, I think so. I think it is the plastic wrap as you describe. But it may depend on the brand of the solution.
I wear Bausch & Lomb’s Ultra w/ MoistureSeal. I use the same cleaning solution as you. I don’t feel my contacts are getting clean. What are your thoughts on protein removers?
I wore contacts a couple years back and opti free started burning my eyes when I would put my contacts on, I am stating to wear contacts again and I got a trial of opti free, so far no burning but I do make sure to try to knock off as much as I can off of it
I use biotrue. And I also appreciate that they include a lens case and a coupon within the package lol. I have no idea what brand makes my lenses because they are custom made since I have degenerative myopia and my vision is like -20/60 or something like that. I think one of my eyes is even worse
It is nice that Biotrue includes a coupon. I usually try to hand out new CL solution samples to all my contact patients.

Honestly, it just rewetting them to rinse off or re-insert. Almost any of the basic multi-purpose solutions would work well. Clearcare would NOT work for that case. But Clearcare does have a rinsing/rewetting product too.

I recently went to my doctor because of some discomfort I felt while wearing contacts! He told me that years of wearing them made my eyes a bit dry and that he could see the damage after putting the colorant solution (I really don’t know what I’m talking about haha). He advised me to do a break for one month and gave me medications (anti inflammatory and hydrating) . I forgot to ask him, is this damage irreversible? I feel bad for the possibility of having damaged my eyes even just a little bit! I was too young when I started wearing them and didn’t understand the risk of overuse!!
As far as I understand you can become intolerant to certain contact lens material even after many years. Might be a bit late now - but have you considered switching lens solution? I,m sure the Doc will clarify this though :) Hope you can find something that works for you!
Robert Wells What my doctor said is that the overuse caused the quality of the tears to become poorer, so I don’t know if this is my case but I surely heard of that too! I haven’t tried changing liquid but anyways when I’ll go back to contacts I will make sure to change type and use products for drier eyes so that the issue is taken care for! Thank you so much for the advice cause I will still look into it and try speaking about it with the optician well I’ll get new contacts :)
@@chiaralombardo8380 it sounds as if the drops would clear this issue up? But of course I am just giving my unprofessional opinion. If your able to go back to lenses I would ask your Doctor if you can try another lens to help with dryness and also perhaps consider switching to Clear Care. (if your in the US). If that does not get you back into wearing lenses you could try seeing another eye Doctor just for a second opinion
Robert Wells Yes that’s what he said. That it’s just a matter of finding the right moisturizing drops once I’ll be back to wearing them. For now he has put me on anti inflammatory because the eyes were irritated! I will surely take your advice into account because I need to change contacts for sure, I was told the ones I wore aren’t the most hydrating (the Acuvue 2)! I’m from Italy so I’ll try to find something that can compare to what you are talking about! The doubt I had is if these damaged areas that he saw will improve but we will see!! Thanks again!
@@chiaralombardo8380 It may be called something else. For example, in the UK it is marketed as AOsept Plus. But it is the same product. If you cannot find it in Italy just look for a hydrogen peroxide solution. Good luck!
