Marvel Studios' Thor: Love and Thunder arrives only in theaters July 8.
The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced - a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who - to Thor’s surprise - inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late. Directed by Waititi (“Thor: Ragnarok,” “Jojo Rabbit”) and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, “Thor: Love and Thunder” opens in theaters July 8, 2022.

The movie might have sucked, but I remember going through a dark episode in my life when this trailer dropped. Watching Thor working out and trying to get his life together inspired me to improve myself. I've been going to the gym 9 months now thanks to this.

Yea, getting real tired of seeing the whole movie in a 3 min trailer. But they'll do it with this one too. After all, this is just the teaser to the trailer. Because those are things now
Remember the original Matrix trailer? They showed you what they wanted to show you; inclusion of spoilers isn't just a faux pa, it's a statement, IMO.
Many productions do an interesting thing where they have a few teasers, and each teaser reveals a main theme, often from the meat of the same clips. They give you a wider net, and tease out more depth from a very shallow time frame.
Generation of speculation is one thing, hitting curious prospective audience members where they feel it is a real snap shot to take. In this case you don't get where in lay the conflict, but if you know Thor, you already know where it lay.

Disney wasted Hulk like a bag of dung. It would’ve been nice if they did world destroyer hulk right when Thanos defeated him on the Asgard cargo ship and having Heimdall cast hulk into another planet nearby for safety which is “Planet hulk”

Weren’t Loki’s last words “I assure you brother the sun will shine on us again.” And here we see the sun shining brightly
I never thought that statement was by accident nor was Loki's death final. It may not happen in this movie but I think we all know that the brothers from Asgard will reunite.

Thor's character development from an egostical God who thought he could defeat anyone to having human qualities is amazing. Can't wait for this movie.
I don't think it was a particularly well done character arc, He had a good beginning, but then they made him boring and two dimensional in the avengers, and he stayed that way until Ragnarok. He did have good character growth after that, but for half his time in the MCU he didn't evolve.

Yeah I heard on the radio a while back that when Chris first auditioned for Thor he botched it. They wanted Liam, but Liam told them to give Chris another shot because he knew how much his brother really wanted the role. Chris came back and redid the audition and I guess won them over from there!

Thor is such a strong character. Not just physical but also emotional as well. He has endured so much and yet he still find ways to be happy and optimistic. He keeps pulling himself back up.

I think the guy that recently played Jack Reacher, I forget his name, anyway I think he could have pulled it off, the physical look anyways. I think it would have been much harder for him to show the depth and range in the character as Hemsworth has shown which is why Hemsworth was a perfect choice. I'm sure they're many huge, blonde Joe Blows out there that physically fit the Thor character, but can they act convincingly as Thor. That's the million-dollar question!

It’s not hard to write a character like Thor. You can argue that Polkadot man is a better character.
First, they used Thor to show that grief and depression can affect even a god. Now, instead of just timeskiping to the former muscular guy they show him working out and in a philosophical search of himself.

Everybody's talking about how feel good this trailer is, and I agree, but is anyone picking up on some serious melancholy vibes from this? I feel like this movie is gonna hit us out of left field with some serious tearjerking moments.

With Taika involved it ought to have that distinctive blend of pathos and humor.

Genuinely, the vibe I'm getting from it, is like this is his last appearance in the MCU
knowing taika (whose staple is disarm them with comedy, punch them with reality) this is gonna leave some of us crying in the theater and I'm so excited for it

@Michael Aronson Yes they all are. Loki from the tv show is a different version so it technically doesn’t count, and the only OG Avengers who are still alive is Bruce, Clint who he barely knows and Steve who’s retired now.

I look up to Thor so much because he’s been through so much and has lost so much, and he’s always working on himself. He is def one of my absolute faves❤️ This trailer gets me everytime and makes me cry like a baby, especially when Starlord says “just remember what I told you, whenever you feel lost, just look into the eyes of the people that you love” and then Thor makes me laugh with his face😭😂

Like I wanna watch that movie where Thor’s at the end of his journey and has to discover who he is when there is no one left to fight. I thought the story we got was interesting but the execution unfortunately wasn’t good. Thor and the “asguardian” kids lead the battle against Gorr. Then Gorr’s daughter stays with Thor because love compels all. It’s beautiful. This could’ve been such a great Thor movie.
I liked the character of Thor from the first film from 2011.

Thor 4 is definitely my favorite film in Phase 4. Loved the cinematography, mythic theme, how Korg's narrations delivered why the movie is Love & Thunder.
No matter what the critics say it's my top film in MCU.
