3:30 Idk man, if i see Oumaji border the 2nd Swordsman Gambit Opening is hella tempting. 1st Swordsman : "Prepare for trouble.. " 2nd Swordsman : ".. Make it double."
I always prioritized relics over cities of I spot them. I almost never prioritize riding towards the beginning and found it interesting you had such a emphasis on it woth a few civs. I fluctuate between 1550-1650 elo and thought it was interesting that we have different playstyles
Cymanti can also train a warrior turn 0 and boost it Not sure how it compares to turn 0 fungi but it's another option if you want to explore more early game, which can help with how aggressive cymanti is
Hey, GullYY, maybe you'll make a video about Zebasi being new meta? Because they were buffed by the fact that burn forest ability was moved into construction, which allows them to spam high level windmills and markets very early in the game.
Thanks for the vid Gully, I have never even thought about going for riders right away with luxidoor. Been a fan of you for years and I love that your posting more regularly. Keep at it bro your awesome!
Cool to see that I already did most of these openings myself. And for the ones I didn't, I hadn't known them before and I learned how to use them better. Coolio
We appreciate ur work & dedication. I love ur voice, personality & knowledge. U helped me a lot in the past, even now to be a good poly player. Thank you. 🙏
Zebasi meta sleeper strat: Go Construction as your first upgrade, then riders, roads, and then markets late game for the most broken economy thanks to burning forests to make farms to boost windmills to increase markets. @@PhilTheThrill87 not really i would still even take yadakk over oumaji even after roads bein 3 stars, kickoo, bardur, imperius just to name a few are better than oumaji
as a yadakk player, this helps a lot, thanks. I never considered starting with a road, I always go organisation first, even delaying getting another warrior

Great video, a cool idea for another series would be to review replays that people send to you and break them down, kind of like what you did with some of your own replays in the past. I had a crazy archipelago game where I won because of aquatism (no, seriously) and I think you might like it 😃
Please, make a video breaking down the decision making process in some common situations for each important tech. Would be very useful and interesting ^^
Xinxi: warrior t0, meditation T2 actually makes sense on medium map or larger. I was very sceptical, but it really does work against slower tribes. Oumaji: double rider is risky. Often it's better to do a warrior because you will lvl up village quicker.
With barter on small maps i will upgrade the city then go for archery for a swift attack, works better than riders a lot of the time And on bigger maps i go for forestry, big citys tend to work with me well
Cymanti opening misses one key point. On turn 3 you pock second fungi which will do capital level up start of next turn and will give you your 5 stars back so you can continue with tech research pre-capture
For Xin-xi, I actually upgrade mountain temple thingy to get the altar of peace so that I can upgrade the city for workshop nd hold for atleast 3 turns to get the Mind Bender tech and by 5th turn I get the mining tech and the altar for both and get the 2nd city for myself
Regarding Cymanti, IMO better oppening is to go for 2x warrior and keep shaman safe near the capital. 1st tech should be riding, to start spamming with hexapods. At this point you should already have 2-3 cities and upgraded capital
@gullyy the T0 tribes can usually train a third warrior and upgrade a tech before capturing the first city AND then upgrade that city. Do you usually do that? The video makes it look like you only train two warriors
Elyrion is wack. Idk when to only make one polytaur. Should I be poly pushing towards ruins or favor going to the center? Also, they’ve got awful resource rates, so upgrading cities is so slow but idk if there’s a workaround. Typically I just use sanctuaries on turn 5-6 and start to snowball my economy from there.
I always open with 2 swordsmen on turn 0 with Vengir. The pair can easily take villages and cities from any nearby enemies. Warriors are almost useless for combat and are not worth the 2 stars. For economy, I buy hunting and go from there. ⚔
hey gully the imperius opening is not good also the zebasi one that you just showed imperius most of the time opens with three warriors riding before getting the city and upgrading the city the same turn. I think generally 2 warriors plus explorer (on smaller or more crowded maps) accomplishes the same thing.
yeah thats also how i play cymanti
DEFINITELY want a how-to-guide for deciding what techs to pick and when. Great vid btw
Essentially:
Use what you have and expand quick
Hey, GullYY, maybe you'll make a video about Zebasi being new meta? Because they were buffed by the fact that burn forest ability was moved into construction, which allows them to spam high level windmills and markets very early in the game.
Don't think Zebasi is new meta just because of this buff. Solid, but not true meta.

Hey gullyy why do you not move warriors towards the corner so that they reveal 5 tiles instead of 3
It's better to move towards resources as you have a higher chance of finding a village, even if you're only revealing 3 tiles
Can you make a cymanti counter video now that roads are nerfed. I really struggle against them. Even when I counter them well, they just out-econ me
