Very nice gameplay :) Some mistakes that I think you made are: -you can't barricade in a room with zombies -line of sight doesn't go further than 1 room. So you can't shoot the sniper or any other weapon further than 1 room. -Zombies can't see you further than 1 room so they should follow noise.
Hi Yaman, thanks for your comment. About some of the mistakes I made -- It's been a while since I recorded this, so I'll go by memory... - Can't barricade in a room while zombies are there ➤ Damn, you're right! 😂 - Line of sight doesn't go further than 1 room ➤ as a general rule you're absolutely right, but if I use Lili's "+1 to max Range" ability, I think that's okay... - Zombies can't see you further than 1 room so they should follow noise ➤ Yeah... you're right! We've been playing it wrong for a while at my house! It makes the game more difficult for sure. I don't know what it is about the rulebook, there are just some parts in it that hurt my brain. Thanks for pointing out my goofs -- it shows that some of you are actually watching me play! 😉
@@TheMountainGamer I know its an older Video but about the skill from Lili: She can hit in one additional zone (range of weapon +1) but she can’t see further than 1 zone inside (line of sight stays to only 1). So the skill can only do something if she is outside.
For lower survivor count (less than 6) I usually go with 1 spawn point per 2 survivors, so for this scenario I would have only used 2 zombie spawn markers.
Another thought (for any player count) might be to roll a die for each spawned zombie. If the result is higher than the number of players, that single zombie does not spawn. Might be too random… Will test.
A little late to the party here but really dig this playthrough. A neat idea/way to make 2nd edition harder and doable solo. Going to try this for sure. One of my house rules is the pathing for Zs. I use dice to decide when there is a split required. Makes it more random and less driven by my ego ;) 1-3 they split, 4-6 they stay in a clump. 1-3 they go left, 4-6 they go right.
Curious as to what others think. I never use noise tokens, each survivor essentially acts as their own noise token so it's always fairly obvious what direction the zombies will move. I find the noise tokens to be unnecessarily fiddly.
I totally agree with you. I’ve never come across a situation where noise tokens became a deciding factor in terms of zombie movement. My take is that you can 100% ignore the rule and just play - and still have fun without breaking the game.
This is true only if you are playing with the optional « dark zones » rule (on page 33 of the rule book; shooting in a dark room requires a roll of 6+) - but I wasn’t playing with that particular rule.
@17:43, the abomination wouldn't have gotten that extra action/move because all of your characters are still in the blue adrenaline zone and the abomination card has a x0 for the blue section.
Solo player here so defo like the idea of only playing 4 characters. I might also also houserule that a big bad abomination should be able to tear down barricades for its action if its blocking him getting to adjacent survivors. I know its hard enough with just 4 survivors, but it does seem more realistic to allow them to do that...and yeah Im a glutton for punishment lol
Sounds like a good & thematic idea. But be aware -- even though you lile punishment -- that with only 4 heroes, some scenarios will rip you a new one! Enjoy!😂
Yeah, you’re right… Thanks for pointing it out. I’ve played probably 15 times so far, and every time, I spot something I misunderstood in the rules. 🤦🏻♂️ * Here’s the official quote from the Zombicide wiki: SLIPPERY: The Survivor does not spend extra Actions when he performs a Move Action through a Zone containing Zombies. Entering a Zone containing Zombies ends the Survivor’s Move Action. * I believe the original rules were in French, which would account for the bad rulebook.
Not sure if second edition rules are different on this, but Fatties always spawn with 2 walkers in the original version. It doesn't say that on the card, but it says that in the rulebook under fatties.
If the game isn't stressful and you're not overrun with zombies, are you even playing Zombicide? :) The 4 survivor count seems like an interesting variant to keep you on your toes.
After shooting this video, I can't totally recommend the 4-survivor variant. I'm sure it works out fine for some scenarios (making them more stressful, but still winnable), but I'm also pretty sure that some others will be near impossible to win.
@@TheMountainGamer I play with 4 survivor quite a lot (on black plague) and just choose one random spawn point each turn that doesn't spawn zombies, seems to work quite well. I also do friendly fire only happens on rolls of one. Which with my rolling still happens a lot anyway xD
Hi there! You might be right but it's been a while since I've made this video. 😅 In order to better answer you, could you provide me with the timestamp showing apx when this happens? Thanks! 🙂
Yes, at 21:20. I place a pin on Josh’s #3 slot but I should’ve placed it on #2. That’s my bad. I should’ve started the game with every character’s pins on #3, and then move them down each time they received a wound. If I had done that, as you pointed out, Josh’s pin would indeed need to be at #2 (not #3). Good catch !
Thanks for your comment John. It's been a while since I've published this video.... Could you refresh my memory by letting me know at which *timestamp* this happens?
@@TheMountainGamer yup that would've been helpful. 29:08 is where you were planning what to do, and said Josh could baracade the door but would then be trapped inside. Just wondering if the game rules allowed you to baracade the door from the outside. Don't know if this would have been the best call though. 😁😁
I check at 7:19... The rules for this scenario say that you can put a barricade down if you are “adjacent to a door”, so.... yeah! Technically I could’ve run outside and *then* barricaded the door! I hadn’t even thought of that! 😂😂😂
@@TheMountainGamer From the luxury of my arm chair and time to ponder it can be easy to spot things you might have missed😋, I'll try to remember this option when I get round to playing that mission. That sounds like the rules as written, actually. As soon as you open the door to a building, every dark room connected to that door (and connected to each other) will spawn zombies. If you watch the play through you’ll see that this is the way I play the game; because that’s the way the rules are written.
You cant search more than once even as free action, you must use free search action out of you 3 actions. Only Ostara can do so thanks to that specific blue skill
@@TheMountainGamer hi! It wasn't an missplay, you just said that rule in the begining of the video where you were explaining the actions of the heroes you picked and as I saw in rulebook you can't perform multiple search actions even if it is a free search action. You're totally right: a character cannot perform more than 1 Search action each turn -- even if it's a Free Action; you just basically do the Search, but it doesn't cost you one of your Actions. The only character (in the base game) that is bale to break that rule is the little girl, Ostara: she ignores the "search only once per turn" rule.

If you have a time stamp showing me goof about doors, please post it here and I’ll address it. 🙂 Thanks for watching!
Yeah you’re right : because I decided to treat all the doors as “flimsy” and flip them over to their “opened” side as a reminder, I then forgot (at 44:56) to have my girl use up an action to actually open the door! 🤦🏻♂️ Total goof on my part - thanks for pointing it out to me!
Fun fact: Zombicide barricade tokens do exist. They were in classic and they were double sided actually. It SIX actions to put up one barricade, but it would block zombies entirely unless they get an extra activation. Plopping down an objective token with just a couple actions sounds WAY easier in comparison.
You got a lot of rules wrong that significantly made everything easier. Nice that you caught some prior, but man did you get others wrong and added small rule additions that made your game easier. I mean, it's okay. Zombicide is supposed to be a very moddable game, but you can't say it's so easy when you set things up to be easy on purpose and by accident, at the same time.
