Hahaha yes that's true.. This product is for me one of the useless stuff 2019. I have a small skateboard dolly and I never find good conditions to use it.. But this skate dolly was 15 USD
I was gonna say that $700 for the set is too much. Turns out it's just for the base? I liked the concept but I don't believe it delivers enough to justify the price. I'd pay $200 tops just for the dolly base with those results.
@@98JamesNixon Not all filmmakers are cheap you know, this industry is far from the budget perspective RUclips loves to promote. This is an extremely useful tool for those that do commercial product work.

Edelkrone is one of the most innovative companies out there for filmmakers. I have yet to see a bad product from them, they're very consistent with their quality!
You mentioned in your video that you couldn’t use a slider to get the effect because the slider would get in the way. Have you checked out the Edelkrone slider V2? I believe that the way it works on a tripod would allow you to get that forward moving shot. On a tripod when the slider moves forward/sideways, the slider retracts on itself. Just a thought...
Great video! Very interesting product. May I suggest (at least for smaller distances needed to be covered), going to a flooring business and asking for a small reminant of vinyl linoleum flooring. I think a 3 to 4 foot area of such material could be rolled up and easily taken on a shoot.
Does it detect the edge of a surface? How good is it's repeatability? What is a type of shot that you could get with the dolly and the pan head? These questions i would like to know.
Hi Justin, DollyONE doesn't have an edge detection since it won't fall off unless you intentionally drive the system off the table. It only moves as much as the users want it to move and immediately stops if there's a disconnection between the phone/app and DollyONE. As for repeatability, slight variances in position changes occur. With this bundle, you may set up a huge linear slide that is not possible with a regular slider and add a head movement. Our best, Asude
how much better is the 150 flex tilt head than its $20-30 counter parts? even if the off brands need tightened each time its moved, that would be worth the savings if you arent in a rush. if the off brands CAN be tightened that is
You didnt tell, when using in interview mode, if you can make it go back-forward in a infinite loop... and what the comparison between their mini dolly. Thx !
Can the motion control repeat its movement over and over? would like to know if it's a viable option for FX shots. Can I do a number of accurate repeated movement passes with the head, not the dolly?
Hey Griffin, Would it be possible to bring some kind of smooth, rollable surface with you to help even out street bumps? Or would the underlying bumps still make the footage too jittery? Thanks!
The whole point of this dolly is so you’re not bound by a slider. If you’re going to limit yourself with a track that needs to be mounted between 2 tripods, then wouldn’t you be better off just getting a slider?
@@MrPhilbautista The track would be to negate the adverse effects of uneven/adverse terrain so you can still get ueber smooth dolly shots. That was the biggest criticism of the dolly in the vid (that sub-optimal terrain makes it difficult to get useable shots). Better off getting a slider? If the budget is real tight most likely. But if you want the hands-off remote control aspect of this dolly then not so much.
@@sprocketblvd6758 There are sliders that are remote controlled. Edelkrone has one too, and it ain't for tight budgets. And it can be mounted on one tripod. Just like many other remote controlled sliders. Many of which are cheaper than this dolly. Seriously, if you're looking to be lugging a track around with it, along with two tripods to support that track, that's your business and I won't try to convince you otherwise. Nice to see a review of this device Griffin. Personally, I think its rather expensive. But I`d love for you to review follow focus systems for the GH5/GH5s.
Hi. I'm wondering if you still have this around to test and, if so, have you tried running it over the smooth side of a yoga mat? It should be portable enough to bring with you to a shoot but I don't know how well it would take the weight of the DollyONE with a camera on it.
Hi Rafael, DollyONE won't fall off unless you intentionally drive the system off the table because it moves as much as the users want it to move and it immediately stops when there's a disconnection between the phone/app and DollyONE. We invite you to learn more about it at edel.kr/qJ. Our best, Asude
The DollyOne has potential if you could control it with the app with programmable motions like making a circle or arch with variable amounts. I think it is overpriced in my opinion! It needs a smooth surface, using it outside I wish you tried Posterboard, It's lightweight, easy to carry if you roll it up. This is just a thought or 2mm PVA foam or rolled corkboard as a surface would still be much lighter than a traditional slider!
Hi Julian! Yes, you may use it with HeadPLUS! You may even purchase DollyONE & HeadPLUS bundle at edel.kr/qI for up to 15% off right now. Our best, Asude!
I never understand tabletop sliders. Any time I use a slider I want to pick an exact spot and height to set the tripod. Not just set it on a table and go 😅 I mean every once in a while a tabletop slider could work but just the base of this costs as much as a professional edelkrone slider..
Right now, for what this whole system costs (1198$) I could rather buy: a Wiral LITE (389€), the Neewer 80 cm motorized slider with turn function (240€), a Bugs 3 Pro drone + case and 2 batteries (170€), motorized turntable (43€), a FeiyuTech AK2000 (314€), and a cheap aluminium tripod plus some accessories for the rest. As the gimbal and the Wiral even can do timelapses, outside as well, that means for 1156€ you get very much more flexibility than with this system for the price. I.e. this is not good value.

it´s nice but expensive for what it can do. And it never can replace a slider because you always need a smooth surface to put it on to. That´s not very practical.
