- This is the range where the OFB tests each of its ARs, pistols and shotguns before they are despatched to customers. I've literally seen a thousand rounds being shot here in the short time that I was here. The first batch of 20 7.62X51 ARs are being proof tested here.

I still have huge amounts of military surplus ammunition from 20 years ago but commercial ammo seems to be coming down a bit in price lately. Nothing is cheap anymore.

We can actually make modern rifles like G3 , M15 etc. at a much cheaper price than the junk they are producing , we just need better negotiators & some honest people there in the defence sector. Our budget is 8 times that of Pakistan but they have better equipments , training & ammunition , how is that happening ? Corruption is what it is. Sub- par equipments & supplies at a much higher price just so that our corrupt can thrive. It's Pathetic.

Hi Sandeep, why not just improve SLR ? why mix two different gun designs cross breading AK with SLR, instead just improve SLR with minor changes like pikatiny rail and three firing mode selection

Hi Sandeep why do some guns have a stainless steel top while others don't. Can you also show footage of automatic mode?. With your experience since you also shot, how was the recoil for a 7.62 × 51?
Some have stainless steel and others don't because of design variants
7.62 × 51 has very high recoil.
It's technically a pseudo hunting caliber
It's a start..but a looong way to go.. specially that rocking action magazine input needs to be changed..and with that heavy recoil, it won't be able to be fired in full auto...

why people not knowing anything about guns and gun manufacturing commenting on this video like any thing, please don't comment rubbish. indian guns are one of the best in the world and the gun manufacturing unit is updated as required, manufacturing does not happens in swanky air conditioned offices, obviously the video was shooted in the firing range area. Obviously they cannot show you the manufacturing unit. It's wise not to show the actual manufacturing facility.
What do u think Mr. Unnithan are these rifles are based on old Russian ak design or ofb developed it in-house completely , I have doubt over it because the loading & locking mechanism is same like aks or insas . What's your opinions over it, will this rifle can give a competition to other battle rifles like iwi galil ace , Beretta arx-200, fn scar in army trials.
AK and INSAS inspired no doubt. but where is the shame in that? IMI literally reverse engineered the AKM for their Galil...SiG did the same for the SiG-551. If you can't beat them...copy them. As for the competition with other battle rifles...its like pitting a child against seasoned athletes...all those weapons have stabilised after over a decade of use. We've got to give this IDDM rifle a shot.

those who are commenting that factory looks like toilet or toilet cleaner of a certain company knows more about guns than icchapore personnel ..have u ever visited a factory ..the pictures and videos u see on you tube are edited ones .visit a factory and see the condition this is the normal state of the factory ..generally any company which is involved in manufacturing outsources their housekeeping activity ..the govt ones also follows same procedure..u cannot expect the floors , work benches to be shining in a factory ,where oil , lubricant , grese and metal crop out are produced due to manufacturing .
