- The Ordnance Factory Board designed-produced 'Amogh' carbine was bested by the DRDO's MSMC carbine some years ago. Both are now developing the MSMC as the Joint Venture Protective Carbine (JVPC) for the Indian Army. But while the JVPC is still in trials, the 'Amogh' (resolute) is in limited series production having bagged orders from Indian police and paramilitary organisations. But the MSMC/JVPC could have a few aces up its sleeve...watch out for it.
One error in the video-- the Amogh is a fully automatic CQB carbine and does not have the INSAS' 3-round burst mode. Hence, the three settings should be-- Safety, single shot and full auto. It is ambidextrous, which is a good thing. The Amogh is the compact version of the INSAS-1B, the Excalibur.

You're actually doing a lot of PR for OFB, DRDO, I know they may not care about it, but I think it's benefiting them.
Its about Indian firearms, In other words he is doing a lot of Indian PR, but Indians may not care about it, but I think it's benefiting them...
I hope it benefits in some positive way. Small arms design and manufacture are the preserve of the DRDO/OFB. Hopefully this could change in the future and we could see some robust competition from the Indian private sector.
Indeed, if OFB, ARDE models go to waste, hopefully those experts will take their ideas to private firms. Punj Llyod seems to be the only one recently with a assembly plant with IWI, but it's only a matter of time before outside OEMs team up with more local Indian companies to raise small arms plants, infrastructure. And it's only a matter of time before these same firms want to produce their own IP. And I do think what you're doing helps, even indirectly helping someone eventually. It's better to not be completely in the dark about things, with regards to small arms and India, it's dark as it gets. Put things in motion.
The Indian Arms Sector should invest in the U.S civilian market. There is a lot of competition currently between domestic arms manufacturers for civilian sales in the United States. Indian arms would do well on the U.S market with it's newer designs if offered at a competitive price. Also, civilians in the U.S are allowed to own semi-automatic variants of military rifles.
Import lobby indian army rejected this for commission and bribe from foreign vendors....🤣 Government must reduce defence budget of indian army to reduce their pro import ...Increase budget for navy as well as air force
Simple logic: foreign companies have invested heavily in R&D and have made good quality weapons. On the other hand, the lazy government employees in DRDO etc have been slacking off and eating taxpayer money and have not produced any world class armaments so far.
@@yj9032 idiot, DRDO and ISRO are best govt owned companies. OFB and HAL is the worst public sector companies. OFB and HAL should privatize as soon as possible
@@sreejithsreelal2756 HAL has performed way better than OFB so no comparison of these 2. Also HAL isn't a loss making company and neither their aircraft have faced frequent maintenance issues or require a lot of maintenance like russian aircraft. ALH Dhruv is an example of how good HAL is, 300 units have already been built with very few crashes (please exclude crashes caused due to hitting wires that came in the path of the chopper)
Finally India talks about guns!! Subscribed :))
Every gun so far that I’ve seen on this channel are guns that I honestly WISH I could own
I really wish that there were civilian variants of these guns
Great round. Remington .221 Fireball -- designed after the .223, for shorter barrel lengths _(up to 16")._ Same performance, less recoil.
5.56x30 French GIAT, 5.56x30 Colt MARS, 5.56x30 MINSAS. -- the .300 whisper, Blackout, etc are the same thing necked up to .30 caliber.
Is there a chance to have a "semi-auto only" version of this carbine?
We, in Brazil, would be pleased to buy it.
Why are you willing to buy unreliable outdated weapon?

How long until we see another, very interesting video on this Indian development? I think this is one of the most exciting platforms of 2017, and Mr. Unnithan's presentation is a very thorough format unlike most on Internet.

Very nice, thanks for Indian gun videos.. watching from California.i myself own a 11 round semi-auto Glock 17 gen 3 as a civilian for home defense...stay safe
That 5.56x30 round seems interesting...It makes sense when applied under the concept of the 5.7mm round. Although in my opinion it’s neither fish nor fowl. That is, neither a service carbine nor a true PDW. Would love to hear the opinions of you Indian service members who have experience with this platform.
I am an NRI resident in Canada. I have seen scores of channels dealing with firearms from the US, but, never one from India.:):)

Now we expect your all videos to be in similar descriptive format. looking forward for your comments on DRDO's MSMC.
The ammunition is very promising "IF" it is backed by good quality hardware...
Need upgradation version ASAP,it's a good gun
nice video Sandeep.heard that coast guards are happy with this smg.did u get a chance to try shooting this ? if yes do share the link pls.I strongly think MSMC/Amogh should replace 9 mm mp5 within our forces
DRDO amd OFB should thanks you for bringing this weapons in details to world,
Otherwise lala company never bother about it!
Sandeep, I am new to your channel. My second one that I saw. Very good presentation. I keep viewing non Indian such videos. This one is lot better in explanation, content. Great sir.
Sandeep, thank you for very muchh for much sought review of indigenous weapons. Please try to also provide video of firing, accuracy if possible :)

Your channel is unique as not many people can get access to theses weapons and make a video of it for YT

This rifle looks good, Thanks for info buddy 👍 👍👍
Sandeep Sir, that's a very nice initiative of you to present the products of OFB and DRDO. Please continue to make these videos covering all the products of OFB, whose efforts unfortunately go unappreciated because of the corrupt armed forces officials and lack of investments / upgradation of capital goods (plant and machinery).
You have a unique opportunity to showcase Indian made firearms. You should take the time to take the guns apart if possible.
Credit were credit is due, it is a good idea and looks pretty good too.
This gun is too big for shooting a small cartridge .
It has a bigger barrel so it will have a better firing range!
The bullet is small so it's velocity will be less. It's effective range will be less than 200 meters.
it is ok for that kind of gun.but it is less compact than jvpc or mp7 .
I hope in the next video you demostrate it's firing capabilities
This is very nice vedio Sir.
thank you

nice bro. can't wait for msmc video. thanks
please give review about mciws
Wow , I love your videos .
Keep it up .
Sir, how the neutralising power (stopping capability) of 5.56 minsas round is compared to 9×19 round??
No comparison between the 5.56 Minsas round and 9x19 mm parabellum. One is a high-velocity round, the other is a subsonic pistol round. I have personally witnessed the 5.56 MINSAS round penetrate a 3.5 mm steel plate on a 50 m range. (you can see the firing video on this channel) I'm told it can effortlessly penetrate 20 standard layers of Kevlar at 200 metres. The 9x19 round is a subsonic pistol round...can barely penetrate doors leave alone bulletproof jackets/ steel plates. It has its advantages tho-- is favoured by close protection / hostage rescue because the bullet doesn't ricochet.
Roger......
Awesome channel wow I di covered it today only
Its used by Indian navy special force MARCOS....
Could you post a video or something of Amogh firing sir,
I have seen JVPC fire thru your channel, wish to see Amogh too.
Can we get international buyers in absense of its videos. We dont care for marketing. Our vision is limited. to develop things only for our needs keep us away from success. We must develop different guns for the same purpose. It will bring us inti business. Best of luck sandeep.
very good! but this would be EXCELLENT if you reduced the weight and added the AKB-1 recoil balance system, and maybe neck up the cartridge to 6.5mm
all the videos r very good
Looks like an INSAS and AK had a baby.
looks like the Swedish Ak5 good for CQB and rear echelon troops like vehicle crew members and support infantry.
There is 5.56 x 28 round available, which is used in FN P90 and other PDW and other guns. Looks like Mini Insaas.
I have only seen the Police and the Indian coast guard use this gun!
Pleasure to watch a man with good trigger discipline. Anyone know how the rifle fares under stress?
thanks. hope to see it on a range soon
Ofb should try to make it more compact and they need to change those polymer magzines. They really don't look good.
Please sir we wanna see OFB R2 rifle.. more shooting video of it
Mr. Unnithan tavor x-95 also can fire minsas rounds used by crpf. I think army already reject this gun with Excalibur, it's looking bulky and old designed compared to msmc. As per idrw reported earlier in a report msmc is one of the contender of army's carbine race.
The Tavor X-95 was to have been license-made at the OFB as the 'Zitara'. this however fell through in the wake of the 2006 Sudipta Ghosh bribery scandal where Israel's IWI was one company accused of bribing Ghosh.
Pushpendra Rai
X95 doesn't fire minsas rounds gets your facts correct it fires standard 5.56 rounds and with conversion kit it can fire 9mm
Kid minsas is 5.56*30 mm round. Now check your facts and Google it then u know more about minsas rounds.
Pushpendra Rai
Read my comment again, x95 aka Tar21 doesn't fire 5.56 x 30 mm but 5.56 x 45mm
Hitesh Rawat stop arguing and just check Wikipedia u will get your answer.
The position of Charging handle in Amogh can be seen as a solution to INSAS's design problem in terms of modularity.
OFB should restart its Anamika SMG (MP5 Clone) as there is a huge demand for such a SMG with Indian Police forces.
@gulag master.. Logistics cannot be ignored.
If State Police forces adopt OFB's 9mm Pistol as their standard Handgun then its logistically sensible to adopt a 9mm SMG due to commonality of Ammunition.
In comparison to MP5 there are hardly any benefits of adopting JVPC for any police force.
@gulag master.... 9mm SMG like MP5 is more compact than Excalibur systems.
Then there comes the issue of logistics.
Prototype vs Production versions are meant to different.
OFB's Anamika Aesthetics are supposed to protect it from Copy right issues by H&K.
And, versions of MP5 like MP5K are good options for VIP duties which a Police force has to provide every now & then.
MP5 versions be it MP5A3 or MP5K are really good for Vehicle carry.
In comparison to INSAS its better to consider Excalibur.
In comparison to JVPC its better to consider MP5.
In comparison to bolt action rifles it's better to opt for OFB's SLR(for rural areas).
@gulag master... The issue is over penetration by the ammunition.
AK's 7.62x39R or INSAS's 5.56x45 or SLR's 7.62x51mm have more penetration power than MP5's 9mm.
Police forces cannot use such high penetration ammunition due to the threat to Civilian Population.
But Special Units like SWAT, ATS etc must be armed with Ak-203 or TAR rather than any foreign Rifle.
BSF also uses 9mm SMGs as it also gets involved in VIP protection but it also uses it as a Carbine.
CRPF is the only CAPF that should replace all its INSAS with Ak-203 or TAR in the near future due to its heavy involvement in counter insurgency operations.
Ak's 7.62x39R has a very limited target range.
Though it's ideal for CQB ops.
SLR is more ideal for BSF due to its long target range & higher penetration +stopping power.
@gulag master....OFB products like 9mm pistols, TAR, Ghatak etc are the most cost effective solutions for State Police forces.
Since, Bolt action rifles were chambered in 7.62x51 or .303 that's why SLR may be a good replacement in rural areas where the need for Range and protection against Animals becomes a major requirement.
I love that gun
A Carbine vs Personal Defence Weapon (PDW) is completely different things. maybe the Indians are trying to make best of both weapons in One.
It looks like IMI GALIL micro assault rifle also.. Anyway, looks good and hope it's effective in hard times. 👍🏻👍🏻
Hello from America
Give them the Gold Medal for wasting public money ! 👺
The question is why didn't OFB created a AKS-74U like carbine for 5.56MINSAS??
Or
An MP5 Clone chambered for 5.56MINSAS.
If we compare the Among Carbine with MP5 then it's quite clear that Amogh carbine is bigger in length which questions its capability in CQB ops in comparison to MP5 especially for Police forces.
But even the Sterling SMG manufactured by OFB is still enough for Indian Police forces but the question is Why hasn't OFB Developed clones of the following Small Arms:-
(1) RPK chambered for 7.62x39R To complement Ghatak(Ak47 clone)
(2) RPG-7 to boost the Capabilities of CAPFs for COIN operations as both RCL Mk2 & 3 are way too heavy for COIN operations.
(3) PKM clone chambered either in 7.62x54R or 7.62x51
These 3 small arms can entirely transform the capabilities of Indian State Police forces and CPAFs.
Great job.
Please post video of Amogh in firing. Thank you!
Indian security forces especially Police forces would benefit more from a 9x19mm SMG like MP5 or Vityaz-Sn.
If the question is Why??
Then the answer is clear... Basic Logistics.
State Police forces uses 9x19mm within Browning Hi-Power which is the standard pistol of Indian Police forces.
Same type of ammunition can reduce the need to buy additional rounds & hence saving money t o a great extent.
what is the basic difference between both of them?
@@atulkumar347.. Difference between What & Whom??
@@sk8899 9x19mm browning hi power and SMG round
@@atulkumar347.... Browning Hi-Power is a Pistol with a smaller barrel & only Semi-auto mode.
SMG is sub-machine gun with a longer barrel allowing a longer range & with both Semi-auto & Full-Auto modes.
It's not plastic it's polymer furniture and HK mp9 already chambered in this round and many more firearms in America
Very nice
This is very Nice video sir ,i liked the way you presenting the guns to us..... i have a question sir why dont OFB make an standard assault rifle to offer our police personnel they are still using world war era rifles like .303 rifles etc ...
thank you. The OFB is making a version of the AK rifle called the "Ghaatak". the INSAS 1C met all the army's requirements but was unfortunately shelved because the army wanted a 7.62 NATO caliber. I think this could be a good alternative to replace older variants of the INSAS.
I heard that 5.07 22mm is the smallest carbine caliber use in P-90 and manufacturing by Belgium.
India need to make their own weapons because be a powerful country but importing rifles and guns not a good at all. Happy to see also India make their own assault rifles.
AR barrel?
Nice video Sandeep, by the way do you have any idea why OFB or DRDO not going for a bullpup design for Caribes or PDW ??
thanks. complexities involved I guess. but they are onto something radical with the JVPC

The front grip looks like something straight out of an 80s Mithun movie. If the MSMC/JVPC won the army's carbine trial, why hasn't there been any further progress on this? Any update?
No automatic burst? Only 3 round burst?
Sir please make a video on mciws rifel

Why hasn't Indian armed forces commissioned this carbine yet?

Why aren't the police armed with AMOGH carbine?
They are Assam police, coast guards are armed with it. Some paramilitary unit's also
When will they learn how to rather equip the gun with the button release for mags instead of this rocking mechanism
Please shot it in shooting range
Sir are you gonna make a video on SSS Defence's P72 carbine in future.
OFB should make an AR 15 type rifle.
Why do I feel when he puts back the Magazine, it isnt locked perfectly? No locking or clicking sound? Is that normal in rifles?
i can see the obvious reasons why it was never adopted.
Sundeepe indian armykk eppoza indegenous gun kitta ?
That doesn't look like a Carbine. Carbine supposed to have a shorter barrel and it looks like a battle rifle with a 13-inch barrel.
Nice video sir, I have a question what's the status of Ghatak rifle or Indian variant of Ak47 rifle plz make a video on that if it is possible. we are looking for at least prototype of its variant pics Thank you...
India Forever Ghatak has completely different working than AK to begin with.
2nd it's in use and is seen in j&k
I will rate Indian small arms 0 in terms of human engineering...so poor in ergonomics. Also why couldn't they just put a full length picatinny rail system...
There should have have been picatinny rail in the bottom as well as on the sides for fitment of laser sights, flashlight , veritcal grips etc.
And they have done it again..put the sling mount on the barrel..this is a WW2 era design and definitely hampers accuracy ( minimal in nature but can be so easily rectified).
Also I feel Indian arms should be on sale in countries like USA etc for civilian use like other companies do...this way competition will improve our products and will also give them some additional profits
