    God, I love that shot of Paulie and Nucci sitting on the couch, quietly sharing a few moments together. Having just recently been diagnosed with cancer, Paulie is frightened out of his mind, so he goes to the only person who will offer him unconditional love and comfort, his Ma. It's a very emotional scene. 😢

    Hard to know if this was intentional, but the color symbolism perhaps foreshadowed that Livia's resistance to Green Grove. Her name is derived from the Latin word for Blue (which mirrored her deep sadness and depression) would clash with green symbolizing hope and renewal. And it would seem with as much mayhem she dragged in with her she was determined to make Green Grove reflect her own morbid personality. I always thought that her request to Tony to "leave some [cookies] for the lunatics" captured her intent to create chaos. Ironically, Livia always appeared to wish for death in her own dark dated home but rebelled against Green Grove as a place where everyone was sent to die according to her. I could never grok this one...

    My Dad took one look at GreenGrove during the series and said he dreaded ever ending up there, singing songs by the Piano etc. He passed away in 2021 so he got his wish. Not that I would have put him or my ma in a nursing home I mean retirement home. Plus with Paulie killing Min, he was worried someone would come and whack him.

    • @SopranosBlueprint
      @SopranosBlueprint  8 месяцев назад +4

      Right. Yeah I included it because of the fact that the whole reason Paulie was at Minn’s home was because of their little Green Grove group issues, which led Paulie to want to accompany them on outings to make sure Nucci was okay/not being bullied, then hearing about the money under the mattress and…well, we know the rest is history 😆

      Ehh nursing homes have their value. My grandfather required 24/7 care basically and the one he went to was actually really nice. Yeah if my mother holds up health wise she is never going but if worse come to worse a good nursing home is perfectly fine

      @@MossB87 I have no issues with nursing homes myself, just relaying what my dad said and felt on them when we watched Sopranos together. He meant it more in jest, but I could tell that he really didn't want to end up being in a home and doing stuff like singing at a piano.
