What these idiot don't care about is once they destroy the public trust like this it can't be restored. Not only that but it's not just that one cop or department that can't be trusted, it's all police officers in all departments. All cops wear the same uniform, essentially. They all have all removed the American flag from their uniforms and with that action told us that they don't stand for us any longer. They've then put on *thier* flag, the thin blue line flag. Yup, we get it, you stand for your brothers in blue and will lie, cheat, and steal to protect them and the hell with us.

Superbly stated. They have also chosen sides. The last group of people who actually supported them is turning from them in droves but they still don’t care. Why? Because they have a seat at any political table they want because they are the hammer that drives the political nails. Politicians need them desperately and cops have been bought off. We The People no longer matter to them. They will turn on their family if they get in the way of their master’s wishes. They are mercenaries.

@@pvdg3515 "how is that relevant to the video and what the cops did?" I know what you mean. It shouldn't be relevant, but this just goes to show what courts let LEOs get away with.
At the end of the video seems they changed the story and said they detained him because he was walking on the wrong side. You and I know it is not relevant, yet for courts it is.
Once they took him in they realized they had messed up, that they couldn't arrest just for failure to ID since that is a secondary charge. If they continued with intoxication they knew it wasn't going to fly cause obvious the kid was sober. Then they got all their piggie heads together and came up with a violation they could actually stick him with. There is a good chance there is an ordinance/statute that says you have to walk against flow of traffic when no sidewalks are present.
Auditors often get arrested for "failure to ID", but when they are released the actually end up being charged with something totally different.
In courts they play the "cops are allowed to lie", and I believe courts have decided that LEOs don't really have to tell you what they are investigating or why they arresting you. Hence even though at no time during the original contact they mentioned walking on the wrong side of the street, they can still use that excuse after the fact as to why he was arrested.

I guarantee you would not see this type of behavior anymore after a few cases were ruled and cops no longer having qualified immunity, were held accountable for their actions like everyone else would be! There are a very few instances where qualified immunity makes sense however the blanket they have with it is absolutely why they STILL flex their ego on people even knowing they are being filmed it’s ridiculous! The three cops in this video are disgusting! They were punks in high school and were probably bullied and picked on for the 4 years there so once they get out of school they decide to become a LEO in order to get back at people once they get their badge and super powers that follow! They go through a pretty thorough psychological examination before being hired but when the ones who are doing the hiring are the same exact way these guys are, they only continue with this type of talent pool in the academy. The lady cop should have said something as well to the other bad cops but because she’d most likely be fired for it she chose to stay quiet and allow them to be tyrants! Something NEEDS to change this was tough to watch and MAD PROPS to the patriot for standing your ground even with all the threats and nobody else doing the right thing in the department that took some balls! At the end he was a straight up victim of kidnapping and every officer including the girl who sat there and watched and chuckled at times should be facing felony charges just like ANYONE else would be facing had they done this to an innocent person! GET RID OF QUALIFIED IMMUNITY AND THIS BEHAVIOR WILL STOP! Our freedom is a joke to the police. They literally admitted to wanting to throw this man in jail for 3 months for no reason at all. and then they threaten to assault him in the jail. Police are nothing but criminals and this must be stopped.

They should never be able to wear a badge and especially a gun ever again!!!!

All those "officers" should be fired and charged with kidnapping.

If this is how the officers acted knowing they were being recorded just imagine what they would have done if they where not being recorded. Disgusting, they should all lose their qualified immunity and be fired. I really hope there is an update on this video!

There is absolutely no difference between a pair of criminals or these police officers

Outstanding way to stand up to tyranny.
    Be like Mason.

And end up dead. All he had to do was comply. If he had come upon two huge dogs he would have tried to walk around them. There is a time to comply and get through a situation.

@@joemiller95 Why comply with non-existent "laws"? These guys had no crimes to investigate and they get eager to break up the monotony. That combined with power tripping makes for crappy interactions with the public. There was nothing to see here but they tried to make it into something. Arrested for tripping on a clump of grass or a rock or your own sandals (if that even happened and wasn't just made up.) I once got pulled over for swerving around a dead animal on the road.

@@Spiritof_76 Why comply in this situation? Because he'd save a lot of time and energy. And plenty of times this would have gone very badly for him. There was no point to making so much out of it.
As for whether the police should behave like this? No. Obviously not. But this kid won't change them. He'll only mess up his own life.

@@joemiller95 Sunshine is a great disinfectant. Police across the US have been getting away with bullying forever, but now the video evidence can result in changes. There should be civilian oversight of police, not just internal affairs. Qualified immunity should be curtailed. The us-versus-them attitude needs to go away.

Threatening to punch suapect in the face knowing there are several cameras recording the threat is beyond stupid. The sad part is the local citizens are going to have to pay the compensation when Mason wins his case in court.

I'd fire them, have them arrested for false imprisonment, and threatening a civilian that they are sworn to protect. Make it so they cannot get any retirement benefits or pension
