Thank you so much! When I mean editing I'm mostly talking about sticking clips together and cutting clips etc. I don't want people to watch me stare into space at times 😂
Don't apologise for being your own true self. That's why we follow you, because you're exactly the opposite of the perfect slick "presenters" that are clearly in it for the money & we can't identify with. Have a great break & thank you ❤
Jim, I love your videos and your natural style - talking to us as if we're just next to you having a natter. So excited to see what you do with your plots but in the meantime it makes sense to slow things down and spend more time with your family during the dark winter days. Don't forget to video your construction projects as they're useful. Please don't edit as I for one prefer to see your true self. Take care of yourself Jim and hope you get rid of that cold soon
Hiya Jim. You do deserve a well earned rest. You’ve have a busy year and now is the perfect time to take your foot off the RUclips pedal a little. Take care. Mags.
James you deserve a break, you have a great channel, Your always honest about everything, all your subscribers will understand you taking a winter break, and we all look forward to your next video. the raised beds look fab.they make gardening a lot easier, I have 5 smaller raised beds that are hugelkulture but filled them with fallen branches from my local wood, the mycelium is all over the beds, nice healthy beds, another great video James take care and look forward to your next video, Steve
I really enjoy your channel James and appreciate the effort you put in to your videos. I have wondered how a younger guy with a family and a job manages it all. Your work ethic is obviously phenomenal. Stepping back a little for the winter is a great idea. Go hibernate, you like your garden, need a rest.
Thank you for your kind comment. Thankfully the garden allows us to work more at our own pace in the winter and it's much more forgiving. We can really press the pause button and just slowly focus on the projects over the winter. Happy gardening 💚
You sound full of it 😂😂 a cold 🤧 🤒 I mean. Fun to watch you no matter what James because we are interested in you and the channel too. I think your doing awesome your real and down to earth. Yes I’m always in awe of people like yourself who shuffle and jiggle so much. Don’t ever change and take a break as needed we will be here when your ready. Have a great weekend look after yourself, Ali 🌧️🥶🇨🇦
Thank you Ali. Honestly it's always at this time of year. My sinuses always become inflamed. I think sometimes it's best to just crack on at the plot instead of trying to film everything. That's what I'll be doing over the winter. I hope you have a fab weekend! Storm Bert for us this weekend 🌧️ 🌬️ 😂
Hi Jim, 1st time I've posted (sorry). I enjoy your content and think it caters for all. Carry on what you are doing you should be proud of what you produce. Enjoy your break.
great videO. Sometimes it's time to rake stock of our lives and assess our gealth and what is important. I think you are very wise to make the decision to step down a bit- as you say - a perfect time to do so, and get ready and refreshed for the new growing season. Happy growing 🙂
Hey Jim. Enjoy your break. I think you're great and what youre doing at your plot is fascinating. Will look forward to the up dates when you can, no pressure at all though.
Hope your feeling better soon, you need a rest and time with your family. Looking forward to any videos you make but don’t do too much. Like you I have taken on a second allotment recently and have lots of ideas but after recent emergency surgery and the terrible UK weather things will take time. Gardening is not a race it’s a wonderful journey 😁🌺🌸
It's amazing to see how your channel has grown! I remember when you were just trying to reach 1000 subs. 🥰 I found your channel a few years ago because of your video on tomato blight! (I've researched in books and watched lots of YT on blight, but your video is still the best info I've found on the subject. Might be worth a revisit in spring now that you have so many subscribers!) 😂. And I absolutely 100% agree... take some down time! Take all the down time you can, when you can. Your batteries will be fully recharged next year 👍❤👍
Thank you! It's nice to have a comment from someone who has been a loyal viewer since the very beginning. The channel has had some good growth! As always though I like to stay humble. We are only just beginning 😊 happy gardening 💚
Hope you enjoy a fun and restful Christmas and New Year break, and just throw up a video whenever you feel like it! I will be taking my foot of the pedal at the plot over these next couple of months of extreme cold, as will most UK gardeners I imagine. I've got some big plans for my plot next year though, and I'm looking forward to watching how you get on with your big plans too!
That's the most difficult thing. I suppose that's why we see a lot of retired folk with allotments. Although they're becoming increasingly popular amongst the younger generation now. Cheers!
HI James, looking forward to see how you get on with the raised beds next year, After the trouble with the horse manure you had this year i thought you were not going to use it again.
Thank you! Some great harvests to come from them hopefully! Yes quite right, and I'm being very careful with it. I'm just using some of it to fill the bottom of some of the beds. It's the dark, well rotted stuff that's been on the site for well over a year. The pile which had the suspected herbicide was a different pile at the other end of the site which was off a different supplier and full of shavings. This stuff is different. Although I'm not spreading it like I have in previous years. Simply just a bulk material to help fill some of the beds
My garden some years freezes, when it doesn't have a list of jobs to do to improve, replacing bed sides, have jobs to do when it does freeze especially sorting the shed out ha ha!!! I follow a few gardeners who never edit.
Yes I agree it's good to have some jobs to do when you can't work outside! Tidying the shed and greenhouse is a good one! I've done mine already. When I mean editing, I mean trimming clips and stitching clips together for the most part. So the viewer isn't stuck watching me twiddle my thumbs 😂
Ime 58 , i love my gardening, just collecting leaves at the moment for the compost pile/ leaf mould, having a break for two month from early December to early February,we all need a break no shame in that my friend
Cant wait to see you sort the strawberries out as i have just bought s fruit cage and want to have it just for my strawberries , and want to absolutely fill it as much as possible so any good ideas, maybe vertical gsrdening ideas, but any tips to get as many strawberry plants in as possible would be great !
I'm planting mine in 30 litre buckets. I'll probably plant 3 strawberry plants in each. The cage I have built is 10 x 10 ft in size. I can fit 24 buckets in and have enough room to walk around. So that's 72 strawberry plants right there! If we assume each plant produces 500g of strawberries in a good season, which I think is fair. That would mean up to 36kg of strawberries going off that estimate!
I'm glad you enjoy my content 😊 absolutely, time to get ourselves charged up and organised. And do some of those jobs we wouldn't have chance to do in summer
If you're thinking of going for an allotment, I'd say go for it! Don't be put off by the work involved. You can do as much as you'd like on an allotment. You can plant a little bit in buckets, or more if you feel up to it. Completely up to you. I always do too much then I go away on holiday and things go a bit wild 😂
Just do what you want to do, it’s your life and only you know how best to look after yourself. Did you manage to get hold of some Ailsae onion seed for the growing challenge? Be great to have you join in with that, it’s a great fun and a stress free community of people just growing. 🧅👍 Take care, Pete.
Cheers, Pete. I've been meaning to place an order for some, but haven't had the chance just yet! Do you reckon I could get away with sowing some in December? I'd love to join in! I love growing onions. Growing some giant ones would be fun!
@ Of course you could, you would be a bit behind the really early starters using grow lights , but it’s a long growing season as you know Or you could start them in December with no grow lights, as there’s 2 classes as such, using grow lights and not using grow lights, all I need to know is which one or both you are entering. Would be great to have you join us Jim. 🧅👍
Big blue ball of healing energy sent your way i dont edit that's my style im thinking of a visit cause carnt work out live email me happy gardening Richardx
Sometimes simple is better, Richard. I don't edit anywhere near as much as some RUclipsrs out there. The gardening niche doesn't need too much of it. Trimming and stitching clips together is most of the editing I do, so I can cut out parts where nothing is happening
Jim, you don't need to edit! We follow you because you are true and honest.
Have a great break & thank you ❤
Thank you for your kind comment 😊 I think being yourself is the best way. Why be fake? I want to stay true to myself. Happy gardening 💚

Cheers, Mags. A crazy year for sure 😂😂😂 where to even begin. Have a great week, and take care. 💚

Take some time off Jim .Its been a hard year for a lot of people . Your audience will still be here come spring 🙂
Thank you 😊 time to take it slow for the winter
I think we're all feeling a bit burnt out! I don't blame you!
It's so full on isn't it! We enjoy it, but it is sure tiring. I really do feel for the farmers. They have it hard!
Take care. Enjoy some downtime. Get well. Look forward to seeing videos whenever you can put them out. 💚😊
Thank you. There will still be some videos over the winter. But I'll be going at a slower pace 🐢 happy gardening 💚

Enjoy taking a bit of down time! Looking forward to what you get up to next year.
Thank you! I'm hopeful next year will be good!
Looking forward to next season.
I'll join again.
I'm excited too! I'll be getting sowing some seeds in January! 😁😀😀

Thank you. I wanted to get my thoughts out on a quick video and let people know what to expect over the winter. Happy growing 💚
Hey Jim. Enjoy your break. I think you're great and what youre doing at your plot is fascinating. Will look forward to the up dates when you can, no pressure at all though.
Thank you for your kind comment 😊 I'll just be uploading a video when I feel like it. Happy gardening!
Time to chill Jim , enjoy time with your family and catch up when your ready mate 👍
Thank you 😊 trying to keep the balance as much as I can

Exciting! Let me know how you get on! As I will also 😊
Love the videos, have a break you deserve it. I always seem to be behind with the allotment while working a full time job 👍
That's the most difficult thing. I suppose that's why we see a lot of retired folk with allotments. Although they're becoming increasingly popular amongst the younger generation now. Cheers!
Bless you you do sound a little ill. I am the same and I am slow on doing my beds but it's headphones on and chill 😅
Slow and steady is sometimes best especially through the winter. There's no rush at this time of year!

I will do, thank you 😊

Exactly. Winter is a time for taking things slow. I like to get the DIY projects done over winter as I am doing 😊

Hi Jim I always enjoy your videos, so will wait for your next upload . Winter is a good time to take a step back and take stock
I'm glad you enjoy my content 😊 absolutely, time to get ourselves charged up and organised. And do some of those jobs we wouldn't have chance to do in summer
I was gonna try to start at an allotment but watching your return from Scottish Holiday vid l thought maybe be more realistic and plant in buckets.
Also you dont need to edit ghe videos, I would watch your videos anyway even if you messed up , honestly! The more natural the better!
Thank you 😊
Give yourself a break. Short 4 or 5 minute videos are fine.
Thank you for the feedback 😊 maybe some quick updates of what's going on through the winter
