    why should we use clipping mask > release ? i tried with ungroup and it works. can u please explain me that step of using clipping mask ?

    • @AdobeIllustratorforScientists
      @AdobeIllustratorforScientists  2 года назад

      Ungrouping and releasing the clipping masks allow you to edit the contents of the table after you have pasted it into Adobe Illustrator. If you have no need to edit, you don't need to ungroup or release the clipping masks.

      @@AdobeIllustratorforScientiststhanks for your kind reply.
      but my question was, i can edit by doing ungrouping only. so why should we use clipping mask release?

    • @AdobeIllustratorforScientists
      @AdobeIllustratorforScientists  2 года назад

      You can edit each part of the table after pasting, even without ungrouping or releasing the clipping masks. It just takes a ridiculous amount of double-clicking. So, I guess when I said "allow" I misspoke. If you ungroup and then release all the clipping masks, from that point forward you just need to click on the text. It makes editing much easier.

    When copying from google sheets, it comes through as text without any formatting like a table

      I have the same issue. Here is a workaround. Download the spreadsheet as an .xlsx and copy from there.

    Can you vectorize imported tables so that you can export and resize without quality loss?

    • @AdobeIllustratorforScientists
      @AdobeIllustratorforScientists  Год назад

      Yes, any table made in excel or word will be vectorized when pasted in Illustrator

    Thanks a lot for your video.I copied the table in XL and paste in illustratror, but value in the cell shows error message. how to solve this?

    • @AdobeIllustratorforScientists
      @AdobeIllustratorforScientists  3 года назад +1

      Interesting. Thanks for letting me know. What values did you have? I bet Excel functions dont copy over. I recommend copy and pasting on another area of the spreadsheet to copy the formatting. Then copy again and past only the values into the table by clicking on the icon at the bottom right. Then copy that table into illustrator. Let me know if this works.

      @@AdobeIllustratorforScientists Thanks a lot for your reply. The value in the table is an numerical value such as 0.893 and 0.4892. When I copied in the illustrator, the whole table appears, but the value appears in the cell like “A and $ . Do you have any video for this ? Could you please explain more about this clearly?

    dear scientist. never….
    never ever use pseudo 3D effect.
    -----
    why cell borders heavier than numbers?
    Why horizontal amount of space around numbers is 10 times more than vertical space?
    why you making everything so ugly?

    • @AdobeIllustratorforScientists
      @AdobeIllustratorforScientists  Год назад

      This video is merely a tutorial on how to do it. It’s up to you to make it the way you like. Illustrator really can’t do 3D. It does 3D effects, which make things only appear 3D. You would need to use blender for that. I never really thought about cell border vs text thickness. Good idea.
