Many writers RIP off esoteric stories and pass them off as their ideas inside anime. Why, I can't say....but if you study ancient history then it is VERY obvious that many writers/studios have also studied ancient lore and "myths" and mimic it within their story. I guess the platform is essentially already complete they just tweak it a little.
