Hello, TriFaters! What do you think about the NEW format? Let us know how we can improve! For an update on the situation, the infestation has been dealt with and Isaac lived happily ever after (until duck returned)
Try the Bayer Blattanex Cockroach Gel. It really works. Also, try to check the outlets in your condo if there are traces of them being there. If there are, you can safely open the outer covering and try to put some in there (not in the place with wires and stuff).
Exactly, my friend is a property manager of an Airbnb business (more than 10 units) in Mall of Asia (Sea), and one time my sister needed an urgent Airbnb for a night for a huge event and it was last minute, there was a suddenly available unit but lots of roaches since the tenant who moved out was filthy asf, my friend didn’t want to rent it out to my sister until the thoroughly clean it for like 2 days because she didn’t want to cause any problems/allergies specificially for their kid, my sister even asked her that she would clean it instead but my friend refused, she doesn’t wanna risk that. This is the unit owner problem thing in this case. They could just hire a deep cleaning home service company, it’s now a thing in Manila, they will deep clean everything, with high tech machines and disinfect everything including the couches, mattress, ceilings, etc.
Thank you for the plan to introduce Philippines and our culture in MN. I've been following an American-Korean Couple (Raye & Jin) who lives in MN and I love your State. They keep on promoting Korean cultures there and I wish that someone might introduce our culture there too, and then there you are! I am so excited,.
There’s also a particular place in the Philippines that looks like that where the surroundings are green and natures are beautiful but you will not find it in Manila . You can find it in bohol, Baguio, tagaytay.
Winter is so harsh. It’s hard on the body. Tensed muscles all the time and body aching. Although the heat can be unbearable too but you can do more to ease discomfort than when it’s cold you just don’t want to move and bundle up and put on so much clothing. But… I don’t know.. 🤷🏻♀️
Hey guys if your renting in the condo or apartment you can request the owner to treat the cockcroach/insect though if you're living in an old SMDC condo more or less the small cockcraoch will stay because the accredited pest control is not that effective. I suggest move to a different condo there are much better and cheaper condo.
@@TriFatePH Condos that are a bit away from the MRT/LRT stations tend to be cheaper. Although this is also SMDC, I've noticed that Shine Residences in Ortigas tend to have units around 15k but it's one jeep away from Shaw MRT Station or, because you guys are fond of walking anyway, abut 15-30 min walk away from Ortigas MRT Station. I stayed there for 2 years and there weren't as many roaches although granted that this was relatively newer then. But, regardless of where you might stay next, always ask for a viewing of the property first before you seal the deal. Inspect thoroughly and immediately when you move in, if you think they didn't do the deep clean and pest management they promised, take pictures as proof, send them to the owner, and reiterate your agreement that they will hand over the unit to you after they've had it cleaned. Hope this helps!
@@TriFatePHThere are a lot of condo buildings that are cheap and available here for you in Cubao. There are Amaia Skies, Manhattan Gardens in Araneta City. Oh man. So sorry to see Isaac's experience. This coming from a realtor. Dishonest realtors and owners make the industry look bad, but there are still many sincere ones out there. I just have to add, high density condo's can have more chances of roach and cleanliness issues, just by the sheer number of people living in the building. Since that's an SMDC development, you're like 30 to 50 units per floor. There are many pleasing areas to rent on the country for sure, especially in higher end condos. Entry level or high end, yes there are still basic necessities a realtor or owner need to do, and it's not proper how they turnedover the unit to you like that. Isaac can complain to the owner for a full exterminator service to be done in the unit. It's just proper.
I use roach trap "Trap-a-Roach Hoy Hoy". On the box it says Japan's #1. You can buy it on Robinsons supermarket but it sold out easily so sometime you might not see them. But everytime I go to robinson supermarket I always check if they have stock. Its very effective. I dont need to spray because it can be dangerous. But before you leave your condo, make sure to spray in infested areas. Before you rent the condo, maybe ask if you can rent it for like 2 days to see the feel of the condo and to see if you will like it or not. Some condo can really have many cockroaches. It depends on the prevoius tenants if they di not maintain the cleanliness of the condo. Sometime it is also depends on the building itself.
Isaac, I do Airbnbs a lot of times, and yes I think u should really find a new one. Those roaches will eventuallyn come back as from what I can see, that is a bit old unit u have there! I can suggest a few affordable SMDC units bookings via Airbnb.
Nice house Tyler. Be careful of the insecticide Isaac,I lost my best friend to leukemia because her mom sprayed raid and he got exposed to the chemicals of the spray .
depends on the tenants as well. my brother lived in forbeswood in bgc for a few weeks. he lived with a few people and they could not careless about their filthy and roach invested unit.😅 this was years ago.
careful about those insect spray! make sure to wash your hands thoroughly with soap before eating or touching food! typical for tropical countries having pesky bugs!
Hello, Filipino here living in the US (kinda opposite of what you’re doing 😅). If you’re gonna stay in there for a while, i would look for roach eggs on every nook and cranny i could find, especially around areas with plumbing (kitchen and bath). Worst case, you might need to seek professional help. And yeah, you just got unlucky 😢 like I said earlier, I’m US based and I believe the apartment several blocks from where I’m at has pest issues too so it’s not just a Philippine problem. But the year round humidity and heat in the Philippines can make every pest issues worse. Lastly, Manila is pretty crowded so yeah, pest issues are all over the place and a lot of locals just learned to co exist with them
That's not his problem. The land lord was just lazy and never took the time to go over the apartment cause if he/she did, they would have seen the roaches and didn't even bother to take care of his requests of making sure the grease trap was cleaned. I think this is grounds to terminate a contract lease and look for a better place. It was evidently that his landlord was just interested in some quick cash.
Mergim Vlogs may be able to help you and give you information re affordable condos - i remember him mentioning such condos in BGC, Ortigas and even Mandaluyong. Mergim and other foreign vloggers who lives in Manila will be good resources.
I'd give you tips but honestly my house is still infested with cockroaches lol. The only time I experienced not having cockroaches here was when we just moved in and there's literally nothing in our house. We barely had appliances and furniture lol. I think getting rid of clutter should help but its kind of impractical to be honest.
I feel like sending you help but I’m not in the PH. Where do you look for apartments to rent? Don’t you have Filipino friends by now so they can assist you with these kinds of things? It will be good if you can make connections for the future as well like a realtor, lawyer, doctor or nurse. Are you tied in to your contract for a long time? The landlord has not honored the agreement and whatever stipulations you have. You can break the contract if they continue to be terrible landlords. I really wish I was there ai would deal with them for you and help you get a decent place etc. So sorry for this experience, Isaac. 😏
