I'm glad you guys decided to give Elsie a new look. She deserves more hehe. I don't know much about mechanic stuff but I know a lot of effort and dedication to transform an old car into a good-looking car and roadworthy. I admire your dedication. Cannot wait to see the final result ❤

Great start guys ! , best part Matt is after the rust repairs you will be able to reassemble the old girl injecting good rust prevention techniques and sealing her up way more affectively than original 👍🍻

Yeah that’s great mate , a lot of people would ask about how much money this costs, what i really want to know is have you estimated how many beers this build will take 🤠👍.
Cheers mate , looking forward to these ones

They are unbelievable the way they pull apart. Would be good to see it with something like a 12HT with A/C

    Great video guys
Will be interesting to see if it cones back as a 3 or 4 seater.
For doing the rust and body repairs get a good mig welder, you can get them now where you put the panel thickness in and it will adjust the amps and wire speed to suit making things much easier for those who dont do it much.
Also just buy a gas bottle as the rent will kill you otherwise and its not that dear to buy a d bottle.
If you can get as many panels zinc coated or galvanised, if you cant then paint everything with as much zinc or galvanizing paint as possible.
Also look up on youtube geoffery crocker vs landrover he has been doing a resto onna s3 landrover with rust repairs etc and also re zinc coating of nuts bolts etc and how to on doing it as well.
Are you going to get or make a new wiring loom for her to trynand eliminate those gremlins?
Also something to keep in mind when doing repairs is toyota designed the 40 series chassis to flex/twist up to about 75mm so when mounting things off the chassis or doing repairs make sure you take that into account other wise you will get a lot of cracking etc (so if the chassis is fully twisted up you may have a 30 to 40mm difference in the height of each chassis rail at ether the front or rear) found this out from old Alan at terrian tamer.
Inwould prob stick to the cheap takeaway containers zip locks are fine but with a long term build like your doing the containers will prob last better.
    Have fun with it

So good to see this content back. I will admit to not seeing any of the episodes with the new troopy in it. Nothing personal, just not relatable for me. I have a shorty and troopy both in varying stages of rebuild. The finishing touch that makes the biggest impact for me, is wheels and tyres.

I own a 79 fte turbo 6 and a genuine 80 series turbo, i am currently doing a 500k overhaul on the 80, i did a blueprint on the motor all genuine, i bought most of the parts in the Middle East. Genuine is best only Denso. If the troopy was mine i would put it on a 80 chassis. Even with the engineering. The possibility to have disc brakes modern motor HDT would be worth it. The ride alone and passenger’s comfort A1, Dont look at the cost take your time and the result would be worth it. The other thing is the colour, I am going to break with tradition and paint or wrap the 80 in the new Towota yellow with black accent. I have worked all over the world photographing cars hot rod and all types of race cars, including Street Machine here. Make her a statement. Finally the motor of choice is HDT better for the troopy, the12ht is a beast but i find the Turbo jerky and less gentle than the HDT. I own a fte they are great but the 80 turbo smoother, dont do any form of V8. This is my opinion only.
