Beautiful day on the water just before Summer. Took the 21' Sea Ray from Newport Beach to Dana Point and saw lots of dolphins and sea lions along the way.
This is a great video , I can’t wait to get a boat a do the same with my Family. I’m thinking of renting a boat a few times before purchasing. Ideally something I can use in salt water and fresh since we have a home in Lake Arrowhead. Any suggestions?

Is it a direct shot to Dana from Newport or are there protected areas you have to go around?
It's a direct shot, but you do have to stay offshore when you get near Dana Point to avoid the rocks. Head for the buoy out from the rocks. Have fun!
Just a comment; PLEASE slow or swing wide passing sailboats. Its polite as well as conforming to USCG regulations.
