The only real complaint i have is we should've gotten more subclasses or a new darkness one but other than that I think people are just being overally negative about it and it wasn't as bad as some say. I believe it'll overall be a solid dlc and the narrative seems way more destiny like than lightfall.

While it could be fine, they didn't show anything that inspires faith, or even lived up to the affirmations we got a few weeks ago. It was just fine
Honestly with the supers I think they just wanted to even the light subclasses out so each element has 3 supers to choose from, arcstrider old 3 nodes got compressed into 1 remember besides middle tree having the block they were more or less all the same super, hunters only got gathering storm when season of the plunder hit. Same with dawnblade and sentinel before the rework those 2 diamond nodes they had were just the same super but with a added gimmick/perk that activates that didn’t make those 2 supers feel different from each other.
If this showcase was supposed to make everyone forget all the problems, they failed. I'd be interested in seeing preorder numbers, because this is the first time I'm not even tempted. Nice place to be for the grand finale... Bungie dropped the ball so hard, even after we stuck with this damn game for more than 10 years. Should be a giant red flag for anyone thinking Marathon will be "their" game. Bungie's just gonna disappoint you as long as you keep coming back. That's their business strategy.
I want to be excited, but it also felt like all the streamer reactions were forced to try and help create hype for Final Shape. I just hope with in game LFG (which really should of just been raid matchmaking) I can finally get some Raid exotics / Raid completions since it's impossible to get people for the raids let alone finishing them.
When I watched the reveal I tried my best NOT to be excited. But despite everything I did get excited when I saw that titan super and story beats for the new season. Im still not gonna preorder anything, last time I enjoyed a campaign was witch queen so I’m hoping they can mail the ending of this saga like FF14 did with Endwalker. If anything the social and light changes are pretty good along with the in game lfg.
Seeing how with "Episodes" we get new story, activities, exotics, weapons, and armor...EVERY 6 WEEKS BTW it's sounding very promising, especially when they say that these episodes might be the same or higher quality than seasons
Hmm so no price increase for the FS expansion, but no more new seasons sold separately at the increased price of 1200 silver, instead there are "episodes" and those will be sold separately at 1500 silver. Will be interesting to see how this all pans out.
I think that the story will be decent since a lot is riding on this expansion. But even though this is the case, they haven't wowed a large majority of the player base. Personally, since this is considered the finally of the light vs darkness saga, we should have gotten a third darkness subclass. It's been something that has been hinted in all sorts of destiny 2 media so without the player getting it, feels like a massive loss. But that's just my opinion.
I'm just hoping this gets the witch Queen treatment. Players thought witch Queen would flop after coming from beyond light so I'm hoping it's the same for final shape.
And for some reason people have already pre-ordered it. Seriously wtf. It's like they don't realize that they have free will and it's a bit concerning. You CAN boycott Destiny and honestly should until Bungie actually steps it up rather than just saying they will. You can make a difference. Please save your time and money this season. It's looking like a whole lot of reused content anyway + Crota is free anyway and we all know you're waiting for that. I love raids :)
@@b1battledroid335that’s not the problem, for who like me loves day one raids doesn’t have many choices, I have to buy it if I want to do the last raid of this saga that will conclude THIS final chapter. Also I’m a die hard lore fan so idc, and I need to do the campaign and everything after. It’s hard to get away after you’ve been into THIS game for 10 years. But I’m optimistic, or at least I really Hope FS will be on top of forsaken or Taken king. Beyond light sucked, Witch queen was incredible, lightfall was incredibly dissapointing, so I hope that after not one but TWO years of developpement the FS will be god tier.
I just hope they bring back the moments of triumph armor back for vog and kf. I am cautiously optimistic, I like what I see art and gameplay wise. I am on the fence on the narrative considering how lightfall went
Imo Rose of Iron feels like a great example of what the episodes could be. Smaller scale and/or standalone stories complete with new weapons, new and returning characters and raids/dungeons that will cap off it’s story.
Episodes is gonna look like ( i am guessing) like DLC in Assasins creed Valhalla when you have part 1,2,3 and you must wait few weeks to know more story on this DLC
Im eventually gonna get the yearly pass either way, but I'm actually kinda excited about what TFS will bring to the table with the whole End of a Saga thing.
from forsaken which has 2 planets 9 supers S tier raid excellent lore a ton of weapons ans armors 2 1planet 3supers no wonder i left this game before witch queen
None of this feels like an end and that's the problem for me like cool we have content coming after. But I mostly want a satisfying conclusion to this saga after ten years and with lightfall falling on its face with saying and even feeling like we lost. I don't have a lot of hope for this. And honestly watching the high profile streamers buy into this all over again is frustrating I do not expect bungie to deliver on this in my opinion
Looks good unfortunately not good enough imo. WQ took the wind of of the sails from the finale a 10 year light and darkness saga which by most estimates should have been Lightfall. And even though theres new additions to supers etc the ability to gunplay ratio is no longer there. Since BL there's been a "major" enemy update and its nothing more then a bullet sponge. Im not one bit swayed and TFS will definitely cost more given that it has been getting more expensive through the years. Its probably gonna be HYPE then WOAH and WOWs followed by MEHs....
I’m over it man. I’ve been playing since D1 and I’ve come to realize it’s just a cycle. They get lazier and greedier, the community becomes apathetic, they release a good or great expansion, then they go back to being lazy and greedy. Once Final Shape comes out I’m officially done with Destiny. I may play it every now and then if I see an interesting super or raid but it will stop being my main game. Ultimately their philosophy of not over delivering has led this game too a state in which I no longer recognize as Destiny. I’m no longer angry about the direction the game is going in wether it be lazy content or overpriced content I simply don’t care anymore which is really sad for me to say because I loved this game at one point. It’s such a waste of potential.
The wasted potential is what hurts the most. Cause there's so much more that could have been done with this franchise if they would have just stopped trying to milk it for money every year. The irony of it is they would've made more money too.
@@camlot0746Lightfall ruined the narrative and the seriousness of the Light vs. Darkness Saga for me. I mean the Traveller just 'died'? The Witness left because of reasons? Nezarec got killed instantly off after years off lore hinds, and Calus got clapped pretty underwhelming. Bungo just cant do good big Battles and me naive self thought that the Space War Cinematic above Earth would be a key and important part of the story. Lightfall would be the perfect part to introduce something new like Space Ship Combat but Bungie just does the same and the same again
New weapons, new functions, new locations, new looks... that is what B has always done. That is great for a day or two but then it is back to the same old grind with new icons. It is the same thing over and over and that is what leaves me cold and not wanting to do it anymore. The new ideas are grounded in a system that has worn out and can't be overcome by facelifts and new tools. I don't have the answers to that but I know this season is back to the same old grind already. It is 2023 but it feels like 2015. Bringing back old raids are fun but that feels like Bungie's has run out of ideas and reworking the entire game is too hard. For me, cosmetics won't fix things.
I was hoping final shape would have the same stakes as vanilla d2 where the witness comes and destroys us only for us to come back from that loss to finally defeat him. Instead it’s looking like we go on an adventure through the traveller made up of past locations to fight the witness at the end of the journey . After lightfall and this reveal the stakes seem oddly low. What happened to the second collapse? I’m tired of stuff happening in destiny that ultimately doesn’t effect the greater universe. Vanilla d2’s story wasn’t great by any means but the city being destroyed definitely gave a reason to care.
This whole narrative took a huge dump on itself over the last year or so. SO much less cool space science magic replaced with hack writting elements. Like every enemy faction having friendly characters in each one. The stupid old "they aren't evil they're misunderstood" trope. Eris turning hive didn't even hit the same because i was just waiting for the friendly version of a hive to be our buddy (aside from the one hive ghost vendor or Savathuns planet). Feels like the Final Shape is going to be far too self congratulatory.
So far it looks good, but so did lightfall before it released. I haven’t played much since season of the deep released and I don’t plan on playing unless people actually like it this time
It upsets me to see so many people preordering and getting hyped, even if it ends up being good by some miracle, that doesn’t just excuse all the bs bungie has been up too, the community are gold fish man.
After Lightfall fiasco... eh, I don't see much to be excited about. Compared to Witch Queen it feels like a season showcase, not the supposed "end of saga xpac"
i hopped on destiny to find most of my friends list vacant. all day. 4 of our backups for the day 1 raid said they dont play destiny cause they dont care anymore. so now we're missing 1 player. everyone else who was very tryhardy in my friends list said they arent doing day 1s anymore. and these are guys with MULTIPLE low mans and day ones. Just weird man, maybe its just my group of friends but every1 seems to not care anymore.
If I dip my raw thrashed toes back into this game, I will do so after others have scouted it out. Bungie is a company that has gone the way of EA and Activision, so if they think they can reel me in with another vidoc, no way. I'm expecting a $275 total price tag: $100 Base, $25x4 Dungeons, and $15x4 seasons, PLUS Eververse. All that and no new Crucible maps, no new strikes, and STILL no secret content in the open world worth anything. I miss pre-BL Destiny.
Has a lot changed since season of arrivals when we tapped outta here.....loving the throwbacks but to what end? Don't get me wrong, I ain't been playing, dedicated, being a Debbie downer, etc but my point is will this be the pivotal point where D3 comes around and it's a rinse and repeat of D1 to D2, specifically where our labor in D1 didn't carry over, yet now more beloved D1 gear is returning. I miss the good ol' days but I don't miss the manure and RNG. 😢 Thanks for the content and your love and dedication to it despite the BS Evan and family 💪👍
Honestly, the further we progress in time with the game, the more updates feel like actually just DLC’s. At destiny 1 - beginning of destiny 2 era, they felt like just genuine updates made with love from the devs. Now, they feel like a small add-on with a story for 1-2 hours at max, a new mechanic and maybe subclass to add something to your regular experience, but nothing much in total. Honestly, (imo) some seasons are better than the actual updates/DLCs at this point.
The way d2 has been for me is come back when a new season drops, play for a season and play on and off not very often for the next 3 seasons until a new dlc drops
I really hope Final Shape isn't a Lightfall Letdown, I'm very invested in destiny since I've been playing since 3 months after launch and if it ends just so mediocre, I've lost all faith in story games as a whole
It is just like a marriage. The first year or two is new and exciting but as the years go on, it feels more and more like work and sacrifice with a hefty price tag. Maybe I am wrong and maybe D3 will be even worse but a younger wife would truly spice things up in this relationship much more than new bed sheets.
My hopes are high, but I won't be surprised if it's bad. What I'm hoping for is - Bungie realises they need to salvage Destiny, tries to fix it (Even if it's just to make more money) and actually does. The people presenting the new supers seemed very passionate, and the trailer for the Final Shape seems very cool, so I do have hope *And please, if you want to respond with "Don't get your hopes up Bungie will fumble it again", don't bother. I don't care. I've already seen thousands of "Fuck Bungie" posts which are understandable, but I don't need more of them*
I don't even understand the hype even after the showcase. It was literally just like every other showcase, it was just Bungie beating themselves off while showing off mid at best content.
This showcase was kinda mediocre compared to the other showcases ngl. The trailer really didn’t show that much and nor did the showcase. Like either they were scared of keeping the high expectation like they did for last expansion and failed or they were hiding more info on this expansion. But either way this showcase kinda made me more worried than excited
The showcase was literally a trailer for final shape a trailer for the season and that was it and the fact that the aftershow lasted like twice as long as the actual showcase just shows that final shape is gonna be LACKING
I don’t know why but I don’t feel good about this expansion something feels wrong/missing I’m not sure what it is exactly, but there is no excitement from my side
Why on Earth is the DLC £84 for deluxe and £42 for normal. Turns out we have to pay for each episode too wtf is bungie doing. They just made it mega expensive for a campaign.
I hope the campaign is good and really gets a close. But not too optimistic. On the other side try the new season and I just can't get myself to keep playing. It's just more if the same and Final Shape it's still too far away. 😕
its really clear that bungie is a shell of what it used to be with activision. At the time we all thought of it as a good thing, but they went from being able to deliver forsaken which had 9 new supers, 2 destinations, and a massive raid, to......1 destination, 3 new supers, and not much else. They keep talking about resources cuz its true, they cant deliver on the level of what they were able to. Why do you think they're starting on other projects? They don't have much faith in destiny anymore, and all the eververse and scummy tactics they pull to get more money is cuz they're struggling
the shoiwcase waas so weak, we are getting a "darkness: subclass post "light darkness" saga we dont even kkow who we are fighting in thje campaign they never adressed it, "all new areas" they are all reskined areas.
@@salmonbamminfish2925 They've shown nothing they haven't in previous Expansion trailers. New setting, same enemies with new minibosses, New/reprised exotics, Raid announcement. For the ending of a saga you'd think they'd try to break the mold a little, but it seems like more of the same, which hasn't been great.
@@CamFGC but that’s the thing sure it’s the “same” things technically but players (most of them I think) don’t want new half baked mechanics/features, they want those “same” things with better quality which bungie has clearly shown they’re capable of with Witch Queen. Which keep in mind that they didn’t do anything to “break the mold” to make it a beloved campaign
I feel like people are just conditioned to accept subpar content and be quiet which is why so many seasons have just felt so boring and/or poorly written. Bungie tends to spiral downward and then coarse directs when they get a wake up call after seeing the player count spiraling downward so they get their stuff together and make truly good content hence year 1 going into Forsaken and the epic seasons of year 2, then they lose their footing and do ok expansions like Shdowkeep and garbage seasons like half of year 3 then drops the ball with sunsetting and vaulting. I liked Beyond Light but I felt empty because I felt we lost more than we received which we kinda did. That that first season in year 4 didn’t help either which made Beyond Light look worse. But every season in year 4 after that was great. February 2021-2022 we had some of D2 best stuff and most of the best stuff after year 2 ended. Seasons 13-15 and the 30th anniversary was a great correction after year 3 and 4 making big goofs. More so on year 3. The Witch Queen being a truly great story and season 16 despite being short was a fun season. They proved an expansion and a season launching at once can both be good. But then it all went wrong after that. Haunted though I was fatigued could’ve been much better but instead it’s help friends get past regrets. Plunder was horrifically bad where we chase the McMuffins because the enemy wants them, why? I dunno. Seraph had fun missions bad bad writing. They made such a moronic reason to kill off Rasputin it felt so forced. Lightfall enough has been said so I’ll just say how they say we lost but I don’t feel like it. Cringe dialogue and raising the price for no good reason. Season 20 was boring as hell and I was too tired to play 21 and beat it until last night. Will the future seasons and year 7 be good? I dunno but I hope so. Xivu better not be killed off in a seasonal story. I hope they correct themselves but after Lightfall may faith in Bungie is almost as low as my faith in marvel to make good movies.
I've always pre-ordered the Deluxe edition on my bday but that's because cuz of great reveals such as Strand on Stasis. They showed no new subclass, that leak of the red subclass got me a bit excited and I was looking for a confirmation yesterday, they showed nothing... I will pre-order if a great leak comes out about a new subclass, otherwise I'll use that money on Gunpla...
I watched the whole thing and I didn't felt anything, I was so empty that I just started playing Baldur's Gate 3 and was happy again. There's really no motivation for me to install the game again lol
I kinda hate to say it but I don't think this game is meant for us anymore... I feel like the more I hear about the Showcase the more it feels like a new coat of paint but the same song and dance. I also think it's kinda a case of being to late to the party that they somehow still was able to ruin? There was a lot of reflection on the bigger picture and current state of the game (not even mentioning the actual state of the game post) to see it's at current lowest it's ever been. I don't know I think Final shape is the time to jump ship once the raids over and maybe the first "Season" ends.
Very underwhelming. I will watch first reviews after release and see if there is something more to it ( I dont think so tbh). But from now its a clear pass for me☠️

That's their business strategy.
guess we can check the best selling dlc on steam in a couple days or weeks
@@Starwarp02won't be anywhere up there
well we say that but lightfall sold crazy despite it being so mid@@Slavic_Snake
I respect your opinion but you are the exact type of sucker they are banking on, they don't deserve your money👎
Hope drifter likes hive, considering his moondust is one now
He likes to eat Hive and Eris is looking mighty tasty now. You're welcome for the mental image.
he has eaten hive before @ Eris Morn 👀
@@ZombieSlayerTakashi I'm sure he'll like her new lips
"I always wanted a pet Hive...the Ascendant Realm must have all kinds of- I'm oversharing."
-Drifter, seconds before we transmat into Gambit
I guarantee Red Death will be a part of the Xur revamp coming in Final Shape, considering it was the first exotic weapon he sold.
One thing is obvious, everyone is excited but they keep it toned down because they don’t want their hopes up and I don’t blame them.
I think a lot of people are not saying they're excited is because it's still popular to hate on d2
@@moonwhooper for a very good reason
@wimpo111 yes, some people have good reasons but you can't deny the mob mentality of people
Absolutely not excited. They lost my interest entirely after the fiasco of Lightfall
A lot of the people just like playing victim and be angry for being angrys sake. They just like to take it out on bungie
Overall, not intensely hype but there are some concrete things to be excited about and look forward to.
Yeah but the problem is that the Destiny Community is stupid as a rock. One random Life Action trailer and everyone is getting their credit cards out😂
@@b1battledroid335 So true 💀 😂
You do know that there are people who pre-ordered just cause they like the game despite its current state
@@beepboop2803 That's called mental illness
Honestly all I want to do in the Final Shape is use the new Hunter super like Minato used the Flying Raijin on Obito.
I never thought of that lol
Literally my on only thought since I saw it. I'm glad somebody else thoight the same
funny that old content would be a highlight of the last dlc. fitting, considering the devs
It's a recap season!
cant wait for all the old assets for the cabal vex hive and fallen to be used instead of anything new for the 50th time
I just hope they bring back the moments of triumph armor back for vog and kf.
I picked up on the wrath emblem I had to skip back twice to double check
This dlc looks a lot more serious which I'm down for
Episodes is gonna look like ( i am guessing) like DLC in Assasins creed Valhalla when you have part 1,2,3 and you must wait few weeks to know more story on this DLC
Im eventually gonna get the yearly pass either way, but I'm actually kinda excited about what TFS will bring to the table with the whole End of a Saga thing.
What hits me hard is the sales tax of seasons. You can't buy a 15 gift card for seasons, u need a $20 because of the sales tax.
from forsaken which has 2 planets 9 supers S tier raid excellent lore a ton of weapons ans armors 2 1planet 3supers no wonder i left this game before witch queen
I was not happy with how the final shape is looking I don't think I'll be buying it this year
None of this feels like an end and that's the problem for me like cool we have content coming after.
They need to actually add the Phosphorescent shader to the game and maybe I'll consider being happy about Final Shape.
Is it just me or is there an inkling of the Journey soundtrack from the Red War within the music for the reveal trailer
I'm not buying until the expansion is in his third season and maybe in an offer more cheaper
This is the way.
@@IamEchelon Yeah. It’s really sad.
@@b1battledroid335 Yeah they refuse to innovate in any meaningful way and are constantly worried about over delivering.
Hyped to see how TFS turns out!!
With Bungie running out of road and time to resell D1 content in D2, I'm not hopeful for what the future holds for this franchise.
Oh Shi- Evan has found me 🤣
After Lightfall fiasco... eh, I don't see much to be excited about.
It's time for Bungie to lower the price of their products, because the amount of content and quality is not enough.
Destiny 2: Final Shape Destiny 1
The way d2 has been for me is come back when a new season drops, play for a season and play on and off not very often for the next 3 seasons until a new dlc drops
I really hope Final Shape isn't a Lightfall Letdown, I'm very invested in destiny since I've been playing since 3 months after launch and if it ends just so mediocre, I've lost all faith in story games as a whole
Rise Eris! (but don't even think about the dark future timeline)😬
HEY! You, YEAH YOU! Don’t get excited, remember every other time you did?
It is just like a marriage. The first year or two is new and exciting but as the years go on, it feels more and more like work and sacrifice with a hefty price tag. Maybe I am wrong and maybe D3 will be even worse but a younger wife would truly spice things up in this relationship much more than new bed sheets.
My hopes are high, but I won't be surprised if it's bad. What I'm hoping for is
- Bungie realises they need to salvage Destiny, tries to fix it (Even if it's just to make more money) and actually does. The people presenting the new supers seemed very passionate, and the trailer for the Final Shape seems very cool, so I do have hope
*And please, if you want to respond with "Don't get your hopes up Bungie will fumble it again", don't bother. I don't care. I've already seen thousands of "Fuck Bungie" posts which are understandable, but I don't need more of them*
I don't even understand the hype even after the showcase. It was literally just like every other showcase, it was just Bungie beating themselves off while showing off mid at best content.
Why the hell is anyone still playing this credit card simulator where you grind stuff from 2015
Because the Destiny community is stupid as a rock
Alright Bungie… It’s time to cook, you’ve done it before, now you need to do it again.
I just want to have fun. So far, so good.
I'm still not coming back
The showcase was literally a trailer for final shape a trailer for the season and that was it and the fact that the aftershow lasted like twice as long as the actual showcase just shows that final shape is gonna be LACKING
So either that previous transmat effect clip was fake, or the guys who made it were really good.
I don’t know why but I don’t feel good about this expansion something feels wrong/missing I’m not sure what it is exactly, but there is no excitement from my side
Its the location for me. Re-used areas with grass feels bland. Also Lightfall ruined the story for me tbh
@@b1battledroid335 same I'd like to see how they're going to redeem the story in final shape though I doubt they'll be able to do that
Why on Earth is the DLC £84 for deluxe and £42 for normal. Turns out we have to pay for each episode too wtf is bungie doing. They just made it mega expensive for a campaign.
Wasn't curse of osiris cut destiny 1 content
I hope the campaign is good and really gets a close. But not too optimistic. On the other side try the new season and I just can't get myself to keep playing. It's just more if the same and Final Shape it's still too far away. 😕
Bungie have to surpass Witch Queen to be considered as success.
I don't know how anyone can look at Warlock radiance and get excited. Without self-res it's the single most boring subclass in Destiny history.
its really clear that bungie is a shell of what it used to be with activision.
The final shape is NOT going to be the ending we want it to be.
What’s one more expansion after 10 years?
Recycled destinatin
Recycled weapons
Recycled super, rip warlocks once again
the shoiwcase waas so weak, we are getting a "darkness: subclass post "light darkness" saga we dont even kkow who we are fighting in thje campaign they never adressed it, "all new areas" they are all reskined areas.
POV: you view everything negatively
@salmonbamminfish2925 exactly. I think the way they're doing the pale heart zone is pretty cool idea.
Which keep in mind that they didn’t do anything to “break the mold” to make it a beloved campaign
the new expansion is expansive af now
wtf
ofc salt is already saying the supers better be good💀
I feel like people are just conditioned to accept subpar content and be quiet which is why so many seasons have just felt so boring and/or poorly written.
Im sorry but i just didnt get hyped, Bungie didnt show me anything and i dont feel like Cayde is enough :/
I watched the whole thing and I didn't felt anything, I was so empty that I just started playing Baldur's Gate 3 and was happy again. There's really no motivation for me to install the game again lol
this is what i want you to do . prove your conviction and delete your characters.
Ya….. already got my collectors edition
