    Easy enough to play...not so easy to play well!
    This charming and ever-popular melody was bought to the publics attention when the recording made by Narciso Yepes was used throughout the 1952 black and white French movie 'Jeux Inderdits'. It has gone on to inspire millions to take up learning the classical Spanish guitar.
    This track can be purchased together with the tablature from the Al Marconi Media web-site (link above). It can also be purchased on its own from the same web-site.
    For the curious I am using a 1976 Manual Conde Flamenco Guitar that I have restored and embelished a little. The microphones are Beyer 930 condensor mics.

    My father died over 10 years ago. He studied classical guitar and flamenco as well, he used to play this song every time anyone ever got a guitar out, he died before he could ever teach me, and I could never remember the name of the song, one night I was laying down to sleep and had classical music on a playlist, and this video came on. I don't know how fast I must have sat up as soon as I heard the first few measures, but I will never forget the joy of finding this piece of music. Now it will be my turn to pass it on to my children someday.

    You've pretty much got it. People think Romanza is a beginners piece, probably because most people can manage the first few bars but to play it properly and smoothly takes quite a lot of technique and that comes with time and practice.

    • @rdcoupal
      @rdcoupal 4 года назад +5

      I totally love, LOVE your rendition of Romanza as you inspire my to study classical guitar and practice hard every day. I have only started playing guitar about one year ago and as such I struggle across 4 frets with pain in my fingers. I figure the challenge, well received, will make me a better guitarist over time. Any advice you can give me would be appreciated.

    HELP STOP FAKE CHANNELS AND CONTENT THIEVES STEALING FROM ORIGINAL ARTISTS! In recent years RUclips has been actively encouraging and supporting the vast plethora of rip-off channels uploading without consent our original works. These channels are often rewarded with thousands of subscribers and views into the millions…and all at the expense of writers and composers, many who will go unmentioned on these channels with no help from YT’s content ID system that invariably fails to recognise the true source of the music. THIS HAS TO STOP or we will cease to exist…or become so discouraged we will simply stop creating…or at least uploading on FREE streaming platforms. PLEASE DON’T LISTEN TO THESE FAKE “RELAX” CHANNELS but rather only click on those videos from authentic channels that feature the music notation symbol next to the artists name such as Al Marconi ♪ . The music on these channels will almost certainly be a higher resolution and you will be helping REAL artists and not these opportunists. Also please LIKE, SHARE, COMMENT & SUBSCRIBE to these channels and not these FAKE copycat channels. On behalf of all of us fighting this infestation…I THANK YOU!

    Perfection! I first heard this melody back in 1966 when visiting family in Norway. Lill Lindofors had just released a lovely vocal version of this called "Du Er Den Ende". It was a huge success. I bought the LP then and there and have enjoyed it for years. I later learned that the song was based on a traditional Spanish melody made for guitar. I now believe that your guitar playing skills were made expressly for this melody - Bravo!

    I believe that one of your commentors for this particular piece stated that they did not like the way you held your guitar that it was unprofessional, and I did indeed laugh out loud. They apparently do not know that this is the proper way to hold your guitar if you are playing Classical Guitar. Bless their poor little unknowing hearts, lol... Bravo!!! Love It!

    The longer I stay at home during the COVID-19 pandemic, the more hours I will have to practice. By the time we can return to the shops and pubs, I may even have this song mastered. Fantastic. Inspirational. Thank you.

    Well played sir. Thank you for this video. I am learning this song now and found out that this isn't even that hard to play :D. Those are the best songs, simple but beautifull. But: there is a difference between playing it and playing it perfect like you do ;). How would you rate the difficulty?

    • @stinamanni
      @stinamanni 8 лет назад +4

      +Ikbennietalleenjeoma Wait until you get to the second part buddy, not as hard as you think would be an understatement! If you can manage those stretches with ease I would buy you a beer

      +Stuart Crosbie Well I posted this comment 4 months ago, in the mean time I played this piece everyday so I'm kinda good at it now :). Oh and I have very long thin fingers so I didn't have to stretch it that far, hehe lucky me :).

    • @stinamanni
      @stinamanni 8 лет назад +1

      Ikbennietalleenjeoma Im the same, long fingers are great for stretches, but it takes time to get it right without buzzing! Good job

    • @wigglethemiddle1

      Stu I agree, it’s an easy progression but the buzzing on couple of chords in the second part are really tough to iron out
