I tried ABB this year . I called them up and talked to someone and told them I normally use GAS but was interested in the opposite twist they run to run with a right helical . Gave me a discount to try them out . Put strings on and serving separated on both cables string and yokes . Not a good first impression , they are local and it sucks to say but they blew their one chance .

Gas High Octane are the only strings and cables I use on my hunting rigs and Gas Ghost strings are what I use on my target/3D bow. Never an issue. Before I even set up a new rig I order Gas strings for it and have them put on during build.

The other strings you can try are Wicked Twisted Bow Strings from Trader Jans in Fall River Ma
    Her BLOODLINE
    FIBER TECHNOLOGY
VEc9g strings on my Matthews TRIAX are awesome mine is a 60 lb bow and I picked up 3 feet per second over the stock Zebra strings
I’ve had the a year now with no issues and I shoot a lot after work 40-50 arrows per day minimum and weekends usually over 100

I'm just an average guy with no bow shop and less than a year in the world of archery, but here's my two cents...
I haven't done much "research" on ABB, but I know they have three product lines. Their Pursuit series, which I have coming in soon, is their lowest tier at ~$110 as of 04/2022, and they say in the description "minimal shoot in time"; I've come to interpret this as, it will take some time to shoot the strings in, at which point they will probably need to be reset to specs in the bow. Perhaps your shop sold you the lower tier at mid-tier price. If you were really sold the mid-tier Premium series, it still says, "virtually no shoot in time", which still means they need shot in.
Also found in my "research" on RUclips, any set of strings that isn't put directly on the bow from the stretcher will probably settle out a little, such as when they are mailed to your doorstep. When this happens, they still have to be shot in and reset after settling back in under tension. I know you paid for a string marketed as needing less time to shoot in, but they still need to be shot in and reset.
My thinking is, if it isn't installed directly on my bow from stretching, it will need shot in and reset after about five hundred arrows. After that, I'll take them to my local shop and reset them, or do it myself with a portable bow press. I won't complain if it isn't perfect from factory. My first bow, a Mission Switch bought in 2021, still needed the string twisted back into spec, and it was setup from factory with those strings. If they stretched from factory, why should my aftermarket strings not stretch?

This is the best comment I've come across! I've been building bowstrings and cables for 30yrs, I make a damn good set of strings! (Yeah tooting my own horn lol) and there will always be SOME shoot in.. it's not the manufacturer, it's the material used. All manufacturers have a formula they use, how ever different from one another to minimize as much stretch as possible. (Usually 300lbs or a little more) But there is a "relaxing" that occurs like you mentioned after it stretches. When you put them on your bow, it's a smart idea, to twist cables and string to factory specs, then "shoot in" and then reset to factory specs... granted you SHOULDNT have to do it too many times, but I've never seen a string from any company (so far) that it hasn't had to be done at least once...
      Again.. great comment!

98% of string manufacturers twist their strings clockwise to the right except ABB they twist them counter clockwise so if you are twisting your strings clockwise that could very well be the issue but I have also ran ABB platinum strings and had the same problems

  • @d500mag2

GAS strings will do the same thing

  • @huntsimple9527
    @huntsimple9527 Год назад

ABB is sketchy for sure. I put a set of new Platinum strings on a Mathews Image and within less than a month the axle to axle grew from 29 1/16" to 29 1/4". Not good. That can only occur from the cables stretching. Lost 3 lbs of peak weight with this stretch from ABB. Another disadvantage of ABB, if your arrows are fletched for a left helical or offset, you will be going against the grain with ABB strings, as they throw arrows to the right in terms of arrow spin off the string. This is because ABB are twisted the opposite way of most, if not all, other major string manufacturers. While I am not going to say they are total garbage, there are much better choices out there.

There is a thing called marketing also product in demand when they get orders and there behind i guarentee they stretch none and build serve 📦 sounds like a set im use to getting back in the day when you had to let the strings set in . Does not mean there shit but it does mean there marketing scheme is like everyone else 🤷 buy them all with the intent of having to let them set in and if they need some twist then twist them if they don't then good for you we need to learn that money is king in this day and age has been for how long now. Also marketing is just that sell you what you want to hear 👂

Sounds like gas as well. My buddy had to have gas bc of the hype. He needed a set before the season. He had them put on 4 weeks before the opener. 2 weeks before season He had major serving issues on both cables, his string stretched around 3/4" and lost 7lbs on draw weight. I had to replace them with my back up set I had for my bow....... all hype it's not custom. To many hands n untrained people for issues like that.

Install strings..ck ATA. If at specs ck brace if at specs..bow will make poundage. After shoot in time ck specs again..if not in spec add twists to correct. No way to lose 8 lbs due to string issue. Learn correct procedure for string service.

Worse bowstrings on the market! Your buying the name no telling who made them. It could have been made by Pedro on his first day of work and he doesn't even have a bow! But you paid twice the price and got a tiny sticker! Buy from a smaller string maker who actually cares what he sales you

@@stringtwister7654ABB strings are made by mennonites/ Amish . Would think quality would be good but nah . They are way overpriced too . On top of the issues I’ve had , comparable to factory strings . My factory strings don’t have serving separation like ABB did after 10 shots . Their customer service is good though .
