I like their guns and own a tac myself (last years edc). Unfortunately my 1 year warranty has expired (has had about 500 rounds through it) and I had to replace the ambi safety. I'm down with Bul 100% but I am going to say a 2k gun should have a longer warranty.
This is one thing I don't particularly like about Bul Armory. It's what's keeping me from buying another, as I've had to send my Ultralight back to Bul Armory twice now (grip safety would not stop the hammer from dropping - the gun is 100% non-modified). I've had it back several months after sending it back to them a 2nd time and the issue is occurring again - will not send it back to them since they can't seem to get it right. They did attempt the 2nd fix when the gun was out of warranty though, but only because I complained that they didn't fix it the first time they had it (when the gun was under warranty). I'll probably look into finding a local gunsmith that can repair it.
@unixfool I'm not a professional when it comes to smithing, but I'm pretty sure apart from the grip and frame geometry in relation to the magazine that it's the same as a traditional 2011 (STI style as it were).
Thank you for sharing this video. Bul Armory manufactures some of the best double stack 2011 pistols. Bul Armory 2011 pistols are definitely the most reliable out of the 2011 style pistols. My reliability comment is based on The Bul Armory vs another popular branded 2011 pistols, the guns were unofficially tested by experienced law enforcement agents who are disciplined, stand up people. My husband is a law enforcement agent who was not involved in the testing, but was an observer. Long story short those that have qualified to carry the weapon choose Bul Armory over the other model's involved in the testing. The Bul Armory or other approved non issued weapons are purchased by the agent not taxpayers money. The good thing is everyone can find the brand of pistol they prefer as long as they are legally allowed to own firearms. Have a great evening and weekend 🎄 🙏 ❄️❄️ We're enjoying the snow ❄️ ❄️ as my husband is traveling for work frequently...
I'm sitting here typing with the keyboard on my lap because the desk is covered in EDC parts and cleaning supplies 😜. Watching you take the Ultralight apart reminded me that A) my EDC needed cleaning and B) the FLGR is much easier since I bought a tool-less guide rod from Jacob Grey for the 4.25" barrel. Too bad no one seems to be offering one for the shorter barreled pistols. They aren't cheap but eliminating the need to use either the supplied tool or my own MST Custom Special Take-down Tool is priceless. I keep waffling over the decision to buy one of these Ultralight models or not. I have more than enough CCW pistols but that thing is just too kool for skool 😎
That custom tool is a great Christmas 🎄 stocking stuffer. If you order now you get two GB Guns custom tools for $49.00 shipping included 😃 Order now as qualities are limited 😅😂😂😂
Picked up mine last week. Have yet to take it to the range. Really looking forward to the first trip. Looked at Bul's website and it's already not available again.
Unfortunately since they're extremely popular (and for good reason) the best way to get one is to get added to the email list and be ready to pounce as soon as they pop in.
Throw that paperclip away! If you take the slide off FIRST and then push the ALL NEW one piece stainless steel guide rod forward while compressing the spring it will expose that tiny hole out the front and You can put the Allen wrench looking tool through it with ease.
I've wondered the same thing. I'm sure it comes down to manufacturing steps and how annoying it would be to time the hole while assembling the guide rod.
What's the issue with having a bobbed hammer? It doesn't bother me (I've owned the previous version of the Ultralight going on 2 years), but I don't decock the hammer, as there's no need to do that.
@@18wheeler77 In what case would you need to decock it, though? Are you saying that you're decocking an SA gun with a round chambered? IMO, that's dangerous and many gun makers usually have a blurb stating such in their operator manuals. What I do is remove the mag and unchamber the round, and I do that with ALL 2011s/1911s, even the ones with non-bobbed hammers.
@@GBGuns .....I want to see my front sight in complete darkness. They're fine for daylight and subdued light. It's fine that they come with the fiber-optics, but there should be a Tritium option. I have yet to find an after-market sight for mine.
Sold mine in 2 weeks.... didnt like it at all.... cant cock the thing since it has only a nub for a hammer and the safety kept engaging while shooting due to my hand size... thats just me tho....
Cock by racking the slide. Safety will not engage if you rest your thumb on the safety. Hope that didn't come off as condescending...it's not meant to be.
@bourjuva I don't know if I would say I've practiced, but I do have experience with the platform. I take my slide off, push the guide rod forward and then set the key for removal and that just works better and faster for me.
I never understood why people do tabletop reviews of firearms. I mean, I can see if that is the first half of the video, and the second half is actually shooting the gun. It's like doing a review of a hammer without showcasing it hammering nails. Or a tabletop review of an impact wrench without actually using it.
Welcome to the channel. I separate Tabletop from Shooting Impressions because so many only wanted to see one half or the other. Both halves are included in the full reviews which are the pinned comment.

Watching from Israel. Been to Bul a few times. Thank you for putting the politics aside

Love Isreal. I fully support them.😊
Thanks for walking through the new version. Love the original and impressed with the new one.
Like the range bag, much more useful than plastic boxes.
Wish I could get the newer poly frame and mag well for my older model, that fluted barrel and slide was what originally drew me to the gun.

I believe that policy comes from the fact that their competition guns are their main line and those guys modify and run those guns hard.

Nice I like the 1st barrel. 😉
Always wanted one
Curious technique. I always take the slide and barrel off first before using the magic paperclip to lock the guide rod forward and remove it.
Both ways work and I've seen both ways in manuals. I got tired of folks telling I was do it "incorrectly" so now I just do it as shown in the manual.
@ I made a bunch of take down tools out of 16 gauge finish nails from my electric nail gun. Work great 👍
@jagpilotohio I just use a paperclip. They work about 20-30 times before breaking
😂😂😂😂 awesome 😎

Waiting for mine. Like how they got rid of the silver accents. Can’t wait to see how it compares to sfx9 and CS.
@@bropocalypse2065 in my opinion it beats both in capacity, price, and performance in the GBGuns Protocol
Hey Graham are you planning on taking a look at the XD Mod 3?
The BUL or the new Fusion for EDC? Your thoughts. And thanks for the non-biased reviews! Keep up the great work & content!
The fusion is a bit heavy for carry for my taste. I see it as more of a range or competition gun
Think i would have preferred the fluted barrel for dirt and debris mitigation. Looking forward to the first shots video.
Old one looks way better
Agreed. I also prefer the fluted barrel. Fluted barrels are great for mitigating dirt and debris.
I completely agree. The new ones look like "ever other gun" now. The stainless steel accents made the gun stand out from the crowd.
Disagree. I Love the new one. The ported version is the one I will get. I have the Tac Pro 5” and it’s spectacular.

Yes
Why don’t they place the hole in the guide rod at an angle so the take down pin goes in easier?
