Memories! I saw this commercial during the 80's cartoon Saturdays. Even though I may not have fully comprehended it, exposure certainly did guide my education. I am 44 now and I graduated with a science degree from CSU and am a public school science teacher!. THANK YOU NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION!! You reached me!
Man, this was like my favorite commercial when I was a kid. I used to get so happy every time it would come on and I would try to sing along but I didn't understand most of what they were saying because I was so young. Throughout my life I would randomly think back to this commercial. All I could remember about it was the art style and the melody. The only lyrics I could remember were "discover science and technology!". I started searching, hoping I could see it again. I googled those few lyrics I could remember along with keywords like "commercial" and "song" but nothing ever came up. Finally, a few years after I started looking, I discovered that it had been uploaded here on youtube for years and I couldn't believe it. I figured this was just some super obscure decades old commercial from my long gone childhood that I'd never get to see again, but here it is. The internet is incredible.
Woke up at almost midnight with this randomly playing in my head. Had no idea why until I saw this and now I remember it from when I was a kid. Guess it made an impact for it to be rattling in my subconscious for almost 40 years.
I heard this PSA on the radio in 2004 but slightly different beginning than the television version. This is one of my inspirations to be fascinated by science and technology. Both I had never lost interest since I was 3 years old. I am 38 years old and science and technology never ceased to amaze me and engage in learning as well as utilize for 35 years. To be honest, I had all A and A+ grades in science including biology and chemistry in high school. I am not going to stop discovering science and technology and both will never cease to amaze me while others get scared.
I love this commercial! I remember seeing the commercial between childhood programs or during those lucky times in school where they showed movies in class😄🚀
I didn’t know how to pronounce technology back then. I asked a teacher, she had no clue. What I was trying to say. Kinda made me feel stupid. I learned how to pronounce words eventually. Technology helped me see this PSA 34 years later. Thank you
Does anyone remember the color chalkboard animated segment about the post office? It premiered around the time of this ad. It was more than an ad though; more like School House Rock. I only seen it once and wish I can find it. I remember it premiered around primetime.

My childhood favorite commercial every time this came on I was in front of the TV singing ❤
I loved this PSA as a kid. Can someone give me my childhood back?
And with a wave of my magical wand, I restore your childhood, but, forgive me, if I can only keep it locked in your mind.
I used to work overnights at a radio station where this PSA was on quite a few stopsets. It was probably running well into the 2000s.
I have so much nostalgia for this commercial, they played it a lot when I was a kid watching afternoon weekdays and saturday morning tv.
This video has both intellectual merit and broader impact
And it has all kinds of inspirational potential.

I’ve been looking for this for years! I haven’t seen it since 1989. First search I found it

Wish this was on Spotify. My nostalgic Millenial self would shamelessly bump this driving down the street.
Science.... It works!!!!!!! Technology.... It USUALLY works!!!!

Now there's the big STEM movement.
STEM sucks, this was such a better thing, because it showed you what science really is- observations.
Go
The truth is that the dinosaurs are extinct nowadays.
Except for the ones who are still in congress.
