My adventure that day was a TAXI to Newcastle Central Station at 6am followed by a Train to Edinburgh followed by another Train from there to North Queensferry via the magnificent Forth Bridge.
I walked all over North Queensferry stopping off at Rankins Cafe for breakfast then walked up the hill and over the Forth Road Bridge to South Queensferry stopping off at The Little Bakery for a sandwich and coffee before heading home the same way I came.
My Fitbit showed I took 39,748 steps from leaving home to getting back.
Walking over the Road Bridge was certainly refreshing, -4 degrees celsius and the wind was horrendous.

Both North and South Queensferry were like ghost towns, where are all the people? Indoors hiding from the cold?
What was it like in that cafe, did you get anything nice to eat? O'hh and the phone box with the books, I love that.
Somebody should buy that Hotel and doo it up, it's in a great location
When I was there on Friday it was my 4th visit to North Queensferry since 2020 and it has been like this every time I been there, closed / boarded up which is a shame. Hopefully it can be bought / refurbished soon, I wouldn't mind staying a night or two there myself.
I been there 2 times and both times Rankins Cafe was closed which was disappointing.
I believe the cafe is closed on Wednesdays. Don't quote me on it though.
Not much traffic on the bridge you walked across there Luke
I believe the only traffic allowed now is Buses, Taxis, Emergency vehicles, Bridge Maintenance vehicles, Pushbikes and Pedestrians
The Forth of Fifth, But there are only Three??? Can't wait to see the Fifth of six?
