yea, shes the same girl from ito junji collection. tomie is basically a paranormal human she have that type of spoiled-brat attitude, crave for luxury things, etc. but she can make men drive crazy for her, they love her so much until they want to dismember her body into pieces. and if she got a scars, she'll get healed. if she got chopped up, her body pieces will grow eventually. the only way to get rid of her is burn her into pieces, and if tomie saw the other tomie, they will try to kill each other. to be honest, in the manga version, there is actually a continuation of this ep, but I can see why they didn't include it, maybe they might release it in OVA? since they did that in ito junji collection.

Without a doubt, I would like to see more of Tomie. I also wished that it had gone into more detail on who she is and her capabilities. Before now, I was unaware of all you just told me.

I do feel bad for Tsukiko about her crush liking Tomie, but that was it. Tsukiko making a hustle business by taking photos of peoples crushes - and for high prices, I might add (one girl had to pay the equivalent of $50 USD while another was $100 USD. Tsukiko even said out loud she could get $1,000 USD for Tomie-related pictures alone 😡)...

People should not take Junji Ito stories literally. The events that take place and the things said are supposed to be symbolic, which is why the plots seem silly. I might be wrong but I believe this episode was telling about social media: How people portray themselves perfect and gain obsessed followers who believe whatever they see online is the truth. When someone tries to expose the social media star, the fans attack that someone. The person creating an image of themselves dislikes who they are in real life and does everything they can to hide this side from the other site users. They cannot stand any criticism. And the reason why people were so unbothered in the end of this episode was because that's how people are on social media; something dramatic happens but people move onto other things very quickly and just try to make sure they themselves don't look bad in other people's eyes. Again, this is my interpretation. I recommend people to rewatch this series and ponder alone or together with friends what type of message each story is trying to convey.
