I love the river Wye. So many different species to target using different methods. After more than forty years fishing the river I still get as excited as when I first fished there as a kid. Back in the seventies we used to catch massive dace all day long, not to mention pike before the barbel came on the scene. Great video.
Yes, I remember the days when it was unheard of to catch a barbel from the Wye. What a wonderful river the Wye is and I feel so blessed to live so close to it whilst others travel hundreds of miles to fish it 😊👍
I never tire of admiring the beauty of Wye roach Dave. It is always a thrill to tempt them. Wow... that last fish. Another superb watch and listen sir. Thank you. Paul 👍😊
Thank you so much for the video's quite amazed these are just yourself and two gopros, you got some great camera angles of the actual bite which is what we all love to see, anticipation and excitement 🎶 Thoughtful feeding technique, we get so regimented in our feeding , trying to be so accurate a lot of the time but forget the boiling water flow. I'll be trying that next time on a river You selling Xmas voucher but should consider adding donation options for these great videos. Ps lucky guy to have such a great dog companion on your fishing 👍 trips 🎣
Cracking video that's the reason silver fish fishing is making a huge comeback muddy puddles have had there day .rod and line on a running river. as you said cannot be better 👍👍👍👍
Can't wait to get on the river, trouble is, everywhere is flooded , and there seems to be no let up in the rain .should be good fishing when the river reaches normal level after flush out
Hi Dave great video only fished rivers a few times in my younger days didn’t really know what I was doing but managed to catch( luck must have smiled on me on me for them days) but now at the tender young age of 60 I’m going back to rivers and this video has me drooling 🤤 at the very thought of it I live in hackney east London so the the river wye is a dream I hope to make a reality one day soon. Is there any advice on were I’d be better to start my apprenticeship on the wye or any river I’d very much appreciate your advice and time thanks Dave
There's plenty of Rivers down your way Gary capable of decent Roach sport. Stick float fishing is the same wherever you go. Flow, depth and colour might change but ultimately it's about getting that hook bait travelling in amongst a trail of feed. If you come to the Wye in Autumn/winter, head for Hereford Town centre. It is where the fish congregate and you'll find sport whatever the conditions. 👍
Hi Dave I’ve only just started watching your videos. They’re brilliant; entertaining, very informative and a lovely change from the endless stream of carp puddle videos. It’s also nice not to be bombarded with sponsored product advertising ( don’t get me wrong if a bit of kit needs mentioning then that’s fine but the way some anglers, particularly, on the carp front , plug products it’s a wonder how we ever caught anything before the invention of the latest wonder gizmo !) Back to the fishing, it seems you’re a fellow roach fanatic so can I ask how you’d target a small river/stream for very spooky big roach ( they are few and far between but go to almost 3lb although a 2 is still a major challenge) I have tried stick and caster, bread on a tiny Avon set up and a small cage feeder with liquid used bread but have really struggled. I was wondering if trotting with a dinner on the pole might work or laying on with the same ( I’m no pole angler but I’ll try anything!) Anyway sorry for waffling on, keep them coming and again we’ll done sir 👍
Loved the film. Sorry I ask alot of questions. I have a youtube channel and film. Do you do all your own footage as its raw full of detail n bloody brilliant. Secondly the box you use. I like it alot nice n lite. Which model is it ? Oops n third. I collect reels which reels are they. They look bloody good. Thanks gaz
Hi Gaz. Thanks for the kind words. It's basically me and 2 go pros. I'm learning all the time and getting it wrong at times, but it's coming. Seat box is a maver venue seat box. It's folds away into a bag and is ever so light. The reels are the Daiwa 1657 DM auto bail arms. A bit of a marmite reel but I love them. 👍
@@anglingescapadeswithdavero2363 thank you for the reply. i have been filming as much as possible since April . i too made alot of mistakes but with alot of learning from mistakes i have made alot of changes. ie microphones power banks. and editing. it gets easier and quicker, i like the raw aspects of your films. dont change this i like a real film. no script style. my films are constantly changing in format. keep it going . unfortunately i can be a little loose with my mouth on camera at times but your a natural.and if you ever need any advice on filming basics always give me a shout
Do you still use the Allerton float rod, or something else from the range? Are they a bit old now in you opinion, or still up there with the best? Thanks Dave.

Hi Dave. How would our club go about booking a club match on the Wye
Hi Alan
It is possible but I'm not sure how far in advance you have to book.
John Pembridge should be able to help. Email john_hdaa@talktalk.net
👍
