    Great video again really enjoyable, I fished that peg opposite the steps last Friday, had a chub and two barbel, around 4lb and 2,1/2lb lost a better fish about two rod lengths out, started on open end feeder with meat and hemp for a good hour or so without a bite, Jonnie the Bailiff came along and recommended caster and hemp in a block end and it worked, it was hard going though lots of snags, went a couple of hrs then without a bite, so called it a day, someone had a 11 barbel a few days earlier from a peg closer to the Victoria Bridge, it was to steep for me for me though I wouldn't have got back up the bank 🤣

    Dave why is it the small silvers were not feeding on the maggots? Fished Warks avon around same time as this vid and had a good session on the stick float but all small roach/dace/perch - following your previous video of stick float and keeping the feed going. Took an hour or so of feeding maggots then I started catching but no “quality chub” even though I know they are there (lido)

    Loved the video. One question for you mate, I didn't realize you could get bronze maggots anymore due to the dye they used which caused cancer? I used them all the time in Germany for match fishing back in the 70's and 80's.

    Totally agree with you about the use of keep nets , can I ask what make of rod you were using looking at a 14 foot rod myself and the rod you were using had nice action!

    • @anglingescapadeswithdavero2363
      @anglingescapadeswithdavero2363 9 месяцев назад

      Hi Andy The rod is a 14’ Cadence CR10 #3 It is capable of lobbing big lumps of lead around but also isn’t too pokey so can handle chub fishing.👍

    • @AndyTootill
      @AndyTootill 9 месяцев назад

      Cheers not come across anyone with a cadence rod I have been looking at the 14 foot cadence float rod the 14 foot 0 softest one for silvers on the Ribble but can't make my mind up between that one and the tricast trilogy 14 foot the softer version which in your opinion is the better rod for roach and dace as I know you had input at Tricast years ago thanks in advance @@anglingescapadeswithdavero2363

  • @KevinKempOvenmagic

    Would you say that you are fishing the far Bank or would your feeder pull round and be into the middle? What GrAM feeder is it?

    • @anglingescapadeswithdavero2363
      @anglingescapadeswithdavero2363 9 месяцев назад

      Where the feeder hits the water (around 2/3 in this case) is where the feeder sinks and stays. As it hits the water, I trap the line with my finger and follow the feeder to the bottom by moving the rod forward. If I kept a tight line on landing it would drag the feeder round probably to about half way, but then I have no exact idea of where it landed, and the column of bait spread would be much wider, and not as effective. I’m using 80grams to hold with a decent bow let out. This would not hold on the same line if I fished a tight line.👍
