Being powerful means u don't go to prison for any reason. Better u say influence i kno powerful ppl that didn't even have to go to police station after killing someone never even made the news so don't put him beside powerful if u really kno the powerful families that control the narrative
Hello Kartel do some nice song too its not only badman song him do. What about emergency wi a suffer round here,Scholaz nuh sex in the school bus,the man talented like him or not
Its 2023 and Kartel effect is STILL in motion while we all await the verdict of the Privy Council. The other artistes like I Octane,Chronix and others still ain't running music.Instead, there is Skeng,Valiant,The Six Camp,Vendetta,Masicka and Skillibeng but Kartel music still hitting hard, regardless of his location🎉❤.Freeworlboss
So was aidonia and mavado and many others. Its just like hip hop music before the likes of Drake. Artist had to market themselves as gangsters (involved in drug dealing and violent crimes) to create a buzz in their music career. Vybz Kartel is just a mirrored version of Tupac Shakur in the dancehall sphere. He captured the entire underground market and was spreading rapidly into the upper class market and rest is history. He is the best dancehall of all times and my personal opinion is they gonna make Vybz Kartel brand legendary similar to Tupac, Michael Jackson or Bob Marley
Kernell Alexander now your looking at it very very smartly.......the rest don't seem to know what the fuck Adidja Palmer was up against... Or who or what was Vybz Kartel......
The people wanted to see the trial. It was an exciting case. The same was done in the US for the O.J. and Zimmerman trials. Vybz Kartel was the #1 DJ when the trial began, and prided himself as being the intelligent badman. The case deserves attention.
Kartell made all different kinda music , but he made more slackness and badman song ...Dance hall was his career and his way of earning a living so he made more of the songs that people like so he could make more money and enjoy a better life ...its not Kartel, or biggie or tupac, nor terminator or rambo its human nature ,no matter what people say they unconsciously enjoy these subjects and it's continually proven in record sales, box office charts, and so forth.even in the media nobody wants to watch no boring shows but let the subject be murder or sex , the and ratings instantly sky rockets ..Its sad but thats just the way it is and some people make up for their guilt by using these public figure as scapegoats...If Kartell kill a man and he guilty he guilty but not because of what he say to make his money!!!
I think Jamaican government is basically trying to cash-in on Dancehall music, similar to the way how they are trying to cash-in on the legalization of marijuana in Jamaica. Vybz kartel and many dancehall artist perhaps saw this coming, where the music and culture would cave in on itself by the force of the invisible hand. I believe that there are many forces pushing for the privatization/regulation/monopolization of Dancehall music. 1. With control over Dancehall, elites can control homophobia. 2. Deny Dancehall of playing its whistleblowing role in society. Dancehall is entering a similar phase to that of Hip-Hop in the mid 90's when two of the greatest Hip-Hop artist were physically eliminated from the industry. Not long afterwards did a number of rappers started to act "funny." Kartel is a smart man, and I think what he was aiming for with the statement, "I am not a role model" is that the people must use their minds and not have others use it for them. That is similar to what Bob Marley believed, "Uplifting oneself from mental slavery." In the days of slavery, what the slave master would do is put a yard negro in charge of his fellow brothers, and that negro would carry out the exact (even worse) form of brutality on his people. Case in point, maybe Kartel didn't want to play father-figure role because the hypocrite government would do the direct opposite of what they have now done to him, in a rather pretentious manner (glorification to those who support or refuse to challenge the flaws of the system). Kartel states this in one of his songs - "when why rise up like Bob and Usain the hypocrite system gi wi fake love, the hypocrite system badmind" JAMAICAN PEOPLE NEED TO STOP FOCUS ON THE FRAGMENTED CHAIN OF EVENTS THAT ARE UNFOLDING AND TRY TO BECOME AWARE OF THE BIGGER PICTURE! If you believe that there is a God, a God whose name we are unsure of, then by simply associating the term "Worl'Boss" to him, you are committing blasphemy and secularism...the term Worl'Boss does not appear in the bible. Worl'Boss became a household name by Vybz Kartel, and I don't recall him referring to himself as a God, even though he reigned supreme in the Dancehall world. If you are getting the concept of God and Worl'Boss entangled then you probably need to re-evaluate your faith in your beliefs. (God cannot intervene and judge Kartel on the spot for us, and we all know human beings have a nature of being biased to the core...simple solution was to polygraph Vybz Kartel and everyone who participated in the trial, even that bias judge).
We live in a technological era where voices and sound can be altered, how then can we actually say that those voice notes were Kartel's when the police were tampering the phone for over 2 yrs

I am not sure if the system has used Kartel as an example. However, the argument about the media had elevated Kartel to the position of a superstar, and thus contributed to his eventual demise is a flawed one in my view. We have to examined what were some of the real causes that has contributed to Kartel reaching such a zenith in the dancehall arena, and his eventual downfall. As to his zenith position, in my view, this primarily came from his lyrics, wittiness, how he "rides" the rhythms, the rhythms behind his vocals, and how all of that resonate with those who chose to listen to his tunes. As to the notion of Kartel's eventual demise via the media. The media, especially since it has evolved to this multi stage position, has no choice but to compete for fan based in order to survive in that industry. Hence, some media houses would think that the best option to remained relevant is to play a set of artists that are highly rated by their listeners/viewers. So prior to his demise, Kartel was considered as the very best, or one of the best, in the business. Therefore , this argument about some media houses are to be blame for what had happened to Kartel is an illogical argument. Kartel's demise was greatly due his own doing which perhaps stemmed from his predisposition, his upbringing, and some precipitating factors eg. a few of his fans, goons around him, his upbringing, his environs, and perhaps those who had wanted to witness his downfall. Eventual, the buck stop with him, and him only in the end as we can see. Has that had an effect, whether negative or positive on that genre of music since then ? Well, it did had a negative effect on it during and shortly after his trial. Subsequently that has weaned, and now that genre is preparing itself to bounce back to where it belongs in my view. The genre will survive, irrespective of whoever taken from it. This is the genre that came from a set of people considered to been the lowest on the rungs of this nation. It is their experiences...it is their realities..It is their expressions.... It's their way of life....It's their reactions against those who are at the upper stratus of our society.
All who say Dancehall dead or never go b d same could go in jail with Kartel it will continue without him and aluh don't beat up watch how fast we will forget him
Why are these people trying to impose THEIR beliefs on people? Telling you what you what music you should be listening to or not be listening, who or what you should believe in(Christianity, God e.t.c). You CAN'T force your shit unto people, like that...especially the children of today. When the time is right, THEY will gravitate to whatever! A lot of musicians/Artistes that I LOVE, were before my time, but I found them and their music eventually... I found out about them on my own--libraries...

Let the streets keep talkin bout Kartel shoulda lock up long time. Memba say as one gone the next one born. So someone else worse is going to come on the dancehall seen.
idk what to say about this interview...yes I think that dancehall is on trail and someone had to be taught a lesson but I also feel that no one can put you in a situation but yourself. Kartel weather guilty or not was that example. He put himself in the limelight and this is what it cost him. Its sad because his family will miss him and his 7 kids are now without a father. And we know which side the reporter grew up on. Lol Kartel gonna be the next boosie! ppl gonna be screaming free Kartel for the next 10 years!
Some people who a talk if it was their family member that they said he kill would have a different option no doubt about it and when everyone is asking for evidence what about the dog bite and the doctor report
I am not taking any side and I quite agree "you do the crime, you face the time" but what interest me the most about this case as a law student is the decision of the jury; the verdict. You have five men locked up, no bail for so long then a lengthy trial when finally the verdict you have four of the accused found guilty and one not guilty. Commonsense tells one that something is not right here. They were all up on trial because they were all involved in the crime there is no way four could be guilty and one not guilty, either all five should be found guilty or all five no guilty. The not guilty one is guilty about something???? maybe "CONSPIRACY ". There is no way he could NOT have any knowledge about what actually took place with the deceased albeit he may not be physically involved he must know what happened and that would make him liable for conspiracy to the crime he may not have done the assumed act . So how come four guilty and one walks? Probably he took a bait and for the police/prosecution to be so sure that the guilty men did the crime without a "BODY" to prove the death they must have some sort of evidence or more like confession. He must have spilled his guts on what he knew about the incident into the deceased disappearance and as he is not physically involved he got off. I wonder what the story would be IF the alledged dead man should show up one year after the sentencing of the men found guilty. I dont see this case as final the police need to find the BODY, the most important piece of subjective evidence is still missing. One of our problem in commonwealth jurisdictions throughout the Caribbean is the level of biases within the legal system, there is no real separation of powers and so many times the different branches of government abuse and influence their authority and discretion. They know if the ACCUSED walk it will be detrimental to police prosecution and high compensation to them. Let Jah be the last judge.
the media can do what they want - it's the fans, the people who call the radio station asking for Kartel is what matters - you guys don' know what you talk about!
Justice was served, the justice system never sended Kartel to killed Lizard, he chooses that path. So stopped blame the justice system. Kartel is a serial killer, so was his friends and they all served everything that reached them. Ho he is the badest artist in Jamaica, so that give him rights to go around and take other people life. I know Lizard wasn't his first victim. Jamaica people need to stop support murdered and open unu dam eyes, no wonder why the Country is in the state that it's because the like of people like u.
Jamaica needs change and its coming through TECHNOLOGY science not obeah people born in Jamaica go foreign for what ever reason and hear about the crime rate and constant killing going on born Jamaicans are afraid to go back home i am one its not about puss and dawg i just dont want to lose my life careless Jamaica needs clean up yes so gwan move with the times or get left behind Jamaica IS not was a Christ like country with our own independence where a person is accountable for his / her own of action say no more! we all seek progress in life but i pose a question sentence as been passed now so can we blame the lyrical contents from kartel as to why he his been painted as bad influence and talent that has gone to waste talent stands out for its self and if the lyrical skills were not on point would he have such success and a massive impact with fans in dance-hall remember theirs a difference between dance-hall and that sweet reggae music that comes out of Jamaica that is known world wide but 35 years before parole is that an escape goat or what to remove the best lyricist in dance-hall off the throne who not even really seen the glory of his empire to the fullest dem draw him out and trouble trouble trouble and trouble find him but over 2 shoes tho thief from thief make god laugh but its the smart phone that did it .... i would never rejoice in a persons dismay their is no smoke with out fire and if it was my family that has gone missing and upon hearing the evidence i would want justice i am just glad its not me!! the big picture in my own personal opinion its so the youth have a future as in growing the next generation of Jamaican youths to be smart at school so they can make a difference to society doctors inventors and have a say and a role in building Jamaica society and not to glorify in badness if you work hard studying sky is the limit so if Jamaican system is cleaning up its act so citizens can so trust in the law and the code of practice not the shoot first ask question after they have a lot of back logging to do and sacking the law is the law so police can go on trail too and not buy out the case i vision a Jamaica where the 14 parishes have cameras every where you turn its just a matter of time ....no disrespect to the deceased family
The twins of twins guy does not understand the discussion. He is listening to respond and not listening to understand. He has an agenda and he is hell bend on making his points, even if the context does not lend itself to his thoughts...

DUKE BAYSEE you nuh see ah bag of brainwashed people who still believe everything them slave master tell thm,dem nuh read books fi educate dem self all them ah quote ah what bible tell them, dem still under mental slavery
you and Ninga green shirt understood the question. Kartel well not necessarily prison but he went to far, as for being people from the ghetto then they make it, there is a god, now when a man makes it from the ghetto he achieves what working people couldn't achieve in 25 years without the education with a few hit songs, so please don't tell me about improvished people please, artist that travel all around the globe free of charge, forget the improvished argument that isn't true, no ones cupboard was ever filled with food whether in foreign or Jamaica whether you are educated or not, the educated people have it difficult in Jamaica you can see by their attitude, they take things seriously, whereas the people from inner cities are fancy foot free with no worries whats so ever, so when we talk about balance the ghetto people seem to have that, while other people are struggling to meet their needs, Ninga you must speak the truth, it was disrespect when he attacked you at Sting that wasn't funny, he is a youth and he passed his place, maybe he never deserved prison but he needed to learn respect. I heard that he wants to give some money to the deceased family, money isn't all, yes a good notion but why take a life it is so over guns, why not just cool, like the interviewer said 'with all the talent he had why didn't he remove himself from whatever', stop playing dumb, the lyrics were nasty, look at all the other entertainer its not talented he was or could write lyrics as what you have inside it will always come out, was this really acting or was this something he was aspiring to do, the term alfa male, well yes so there is room for growth but having an education doesn't make a person, not saying anything bad but look how successful Ninga is and he hasn't studied, Ninga you are very talented, as for culture well yes changes need to be made for the next generation, people need to shape up, and stardom isn't everything, Good luck Ninga and god bless, apart from constructiveness the people of Jamaica need to stop following idiots, as everyone contributed if someone was apposing Kartel and putting it into prospective maybe he would have listened and wouldn't have been there but he was new on the scene and he come and dis Ninga Man to gain stardom, some people out there they have no behaviour and the killing must stop. One love peace, there is no loss as he wasn't constructive, Bob Marley was a loss and a few others who spread the message of love, Kartel pure womans private parts he had no talent, he was still developing and checking out certain things and he indulged with foolishness.

exactly and they rejoicing now, but that doesn't change the love we the people has for kartel. them just fi seh we ago change that love. there are three sides of the story 1. the story it self 2. the truth 3. the lie … I am not a critical person to impose what had transpired, i'll i'm saying is i don't know. but shit doesn't sound right.
Distraction from what??? man stfu!! Vybz Kartel is practically the best money maker in the dancehall industry which is absolutely great for Jaimaica! He don't deserve to be in there this was a stupid case they have no hardcore evidence against him this is all a conspiracy! you can chant for him to go to jail all u want dumbass I'll forever rep for him to be freed! ~FREE WORLD BOSS~
words can become action, what u have inside will come out. not good lyrics, psychological seems like Kartel wasn't right in his head, don't mean to judge but lyrics about chop up wasn.t positive - the interviewer is funny.

Kartel weather guilty or not was that example. He put himself in the limelight and this is what it cost him. Its sad because his family will miss him and his 7 kids are now without a father. And we know which side the reporter grew up on. Lol Kartel gonna be the next boosie! ppl
gonna be screaming free Kartel for the next 10 years!
Some people who a talk if it was their family member that they said he kill would have a different option no doubt about it and when everyone is asking for evidence what about the dog bite and the doctor report
Everybody can now remember bout God ..God niggazz
Look 👀 just remember there was people in the dock
Justice was served, the justice system never sended Kartel to killed Lizard, he chooses that path. So stopped blame the justice system. Kartel is a serial killer, so was his friends and they all served everything that reached them. Ho he is the badest artist in Jamaica, so that give him rights to go around and take other people life. I know Lizard wasn't his first victim. Jamaica people need to stop support murdered and open unu dam eyes, no wonder why the Country is in the state that it's because the like of people like u.
There is no sentiment to dance hall music where the artist is personalizing crime and violence to harming others or inciting others to do same.
Rubbish! Justice is being served. Done the crime serve the time.
Dancehall mash up !!! You ment for young people

Jamaica needs change and its coming through TECHNOLOGY science not obeah people born in Jamaica go foreign for what ever reason and hear about the crime rate and constant killing going on born Jamaicans are afraid to go back home i am one its not about puss and dawg i just dont want to lose my life careless Jamaica needs clean up yes so gwan move with the times or get left behind Jamaica IS not was a Christ like country with our own independence where a person is accountable for his / her own of action say no more! we all seek progress in life but i pose a question sentence as been passed now so can we blame the lyrical contents from kartel as to why he his been painted as bad influence and talent that has gone to waste talent stands out for its self and if the lyrical skills were not on point would he have such success and a massive impact with fans in dance-hall remember theirs a difference between dance-hall and that sweet reggae music that comes out of Jamaica that is known world wide but 35 years before parole is that an escape goat or what to remove the best lyricist in dance-hall off the throne who not even really seen the glory of his empire to the fullest dem draw him out and trouble trouble trouble and trouble find him but over 2 shoes tho thief from thief make god laugh but its the smart phone that did it .... i would never rejoice in a persons dismay their is no smoke with out fire and if it was my family that has gone missing and upon hearing the evidence i would want justice i am just glad its not me!! the big picture in my own personal opinion its so the youth have a future as in growing the next generation of Jamaican youths to be smart at school so they can make a difference to society doctors inventors and have a say and a role in building Jamaica society and not to glorify in badness if you work hard studying sky is the limit so if Jamaican system is cleaning up its act so citizens can so trust in the law and the code of practice not the shoot first ask question after they have a lot of back logging to do and sacking the law is the law so police can go on trail too and not buy out the case i vision a Jamaica where the 14 parishes have cameras every where you turn its just a matter of time ....no disrespect to the deceased family

you and Ninga green shirt understood the question.
KArtel deserve every high lite musically he's very hard workin n creative. . exactly and they rejoicing now, but that doesn't change the love we the people has for kartel. them just fi seh we ago change that love. there are three sides of the story 1. the story it self 2. the truth 3. the lie … I am not a critical person to impose what had transpired, i'll i'm saying is i don't know. but shit doesn't sound right.
