Looks like something I need to check on now. My old cast net is getting pretty shabby. Thank you for sharing this. Edit: You sold me on it, so I just ordered mine.
Thanks for sharing. It does appear to work better than the traditional lead weight nets. Can you tell me if this is a panel net or not? I checked the ebay listing and it shows as a 6 panel design. Can you show a video talking about it's construction and showing the panels?
I am impressed with the construction. I can't add anything about details beyond what is listed at the bottom of the eBay link - check it out for the nits and grits
I'm 50 years old and have been tossing cast nets since I was a kid. I never heard of a chain bottom net. I have a cheap net now and the weights are covered in plastic. It's only 3/4 lb per foot and 4', so it's small and slow sinking. I'm sure those nets aren't cheap. I might get a chain and make mine into a chain bottom net. Edit, they're not expensive at all!
@@swamprat9018 It's hot dip galvanization method we use for chain in these nets which is superior to electro galvanization. It will last many years if you follow the cast net care instructions.
I've had a chain bottom net for a while. I don't believe i bought it - I'm pretty sure it was given to me when someone got a newer one. It's a really nice net, though the netting kinks up some. The only thing I'd say about even a bad throw being fairly good is never underestimate the ability of someone (such as me) to make a truly horrendous cast 🤣
Good Deal! Use the discount code KAYAKHACKS at the Silver Catch website (silver-catch.com) for 8% off. Silver Catch is a US Company.
That looks awesome. I'm going to get one soon.

nice video thanks
Dang. I wish you would show some of us how you set it up to throw as you did without an edge over your shoulder.
No problem - here is how I throw it - ruclips.net/video/JQoVs_Qc7LQ/видео.html
Never heard of it. Looks pretty good. Do they have a 4 footer?
I checked the link - they have one that is 4.5'

Yes, this one cost around $80 but I have seen others on Amazon for less. They may not be the same quality.
good one
Thanks
is the chain galvinized? do you think it will rust
it says galvanized and as soon as it gets scratched it will rust.
It is galvanized. Yes, it will probably rust at some point.

lol! That goes with the standard rule of fishing - if something can get tangled, it will!
@@KayakhacksFishing There's another one which frequently applies to me: never underestimate the power of incompetence 😂
