- Coming to Cootamundra every year for the Drag Battle GTR challenge is one of Kyle’s favorite events we do all year! I can’t believe no one has commented about the fact that it’s actually a GTST, a replica for a GTR, so putting a Barra in it is actually not as sacrilegious as it may seem, considering they come with RB20’s.

How do they do it every time? There´s always this one guy that just sends his complete bottom assembly on the track.

I mean, the Barra is kind of the Aussie 2JZ, very boost friendly motor with mod potential
700hp + with stock internals plus (valve springs) around 500hp with just tuning and stock turbo

The Barra is one of my favorite engines to come out of any ford. I recently had one sent here state side so I can put it in my maverick. Awesome video guys.

@@nickfury1279 We import them if you are really interested. Just let me know what specifically you want and I can give some pricing. Low end with just the engine, no trans. Comes with factory electronics, wiring, etc is $1,200 if you pre-order it with $600 deposit, already landed cost is $1,395. Highest price one would be something like 4,350 but that would be the turbo version with a manual 6speed. That's the pre-order price, requires 2,175 deposit. We should be getting in a few with auto trans here shortly later this month early next month.
Those prices do not include shipping from out warehouse to you, but free pick up is an option if you are on the east coast near VA, or West coast near WA.

Yes, they were sold locally here, alongside lax import laws and a strong 'Car Culture' being apart of our Aussie heritage. Up until the last half decade or so they weren't expensive either but the prices are going up astronomically!

AUS/NZ countries have all specs of Skyline, for example, I was cruising in melbourne the other day and I find a Skyline only to be disappointed that it’s a 2.0T version, which 80% of other countries dont have, we even have the R31 GTRS and many more. But yeah pretty much is the RB/GTR mecca.
I gotta move to AUS/NZ! Lol! I'm assuming the prices are going up due to ppl wanting to export them from there now?
The VL Commodore also used the RB for its 6cyl motor. That, in combination with how the R32's dominated previously V8-led motorsport in Australia, is why they've become so legendary here, I'd say. That motor has had a pretty big impact in Aussie car culture for a time.

Those Barras are underated as hell. I have a feeling once most the 2JZs blow up and or keep skyrocketing in price, youll start to see more of these Barra swaps.
They're not underrated. This is just one engine which is available in one country.

swapping out inline 6 for another inline 6 is kinda odd to me.. but whatever its still way better than any car i had yet lol
well, one inline 6 has a displacement of 2.5L and another has a displacement of 4.2 , not to mention can handle more boost while having a stock bottom end

I'm not happy with this, but the Barra is not bad. I will never put any other engine in my GTR than a Nissan.
I definitely see where you're coming from I'm a bit of an RB purist myself. But if you're going to swap an engine into your R32 I guess the barra would be a good choice. The barra is kind of like a RB26 on steroids. That thing is an inline V8 so it's gotta have a boat load of Torque.
