God Almighty, the Creator was manifest in the flesh. He came into the world to take away the sin of the world. He gave up his own life to save yours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for your redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. This is the Gospel which means the Good News. Those that reject redemption will go to hell.
      1 John 1:8-10 KJV
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
      John 1:1-3,10 KJV
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] The same was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. [10] He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
      Revelation 1:17-18 KJV
And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: [18] I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
      Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.
      Acts 4:12 KJV
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

I had the similar thought. That makes Jimmy/Saul even more moral than Chuck. Because Chuck and Howard protected "good" people, they despise people who make mistakes (for example episode "Winner"). And Jimmy is upset in season 1 because many see him as the lawyer for people who are guilty. But then he accepts this and protects those who is weak or/and marginalized. It begins with the elders. Forgive me the analogy, I think he is like Jesus who comes to the thieves and prostitutes. He even likes people who makes mistakes because they are more sincere and honest and it makes them more humane (again think about his speech in Winner to the girl with shoplifting charge). Jimmy hates hypocrites like Howard.

At the end of the video you mention how Saul should have stayed to his "legal-ish side of the business" basically because he would've still made over a million per year and wouldn't have had to become Gene. I think that he involves himself in ilegal business not because of the extra money, but mainly because he likes doing it; working with Heisenberg and Gus makes him feel like back when he was doing ilegal things as Slippin' Jimmy. But anyways man, great video. I had no clue how much money Saul made.

About the case when Saul got somebody else to do the time for Walt, he didn't actually get paid a pound of meth, as stated in your graphic, the pound of meth was actually what was sacrificed to the DEA for the bust. Thats why Saul says, " it'll only cost you $80,000 and a pound of your finest meth." Because they needed the meth for the bust. Cheers 😊

Great video, I think it was well- researched. I would make a few amendments. First is I imagine Saul pays his taxes since he's very aware not to raise alarms with the IRS, which would not be insignificant, given how much he makes. Second is the extrapolation of how much he makes on regular clients. If you take the conservative assumptions you made based on the scenes of his office lobby, it makes perfect sense. But I don't know that the director of these scenes really stopped to think about this level of realism and just went for filling a room to showcase the type of clients he has. Their honest oversight would be a bad place to start when making assumptions about his earnings. I also haven't watched in a while, but I remember in Better Call Saul he's extremely hard working and puts tons of effort on his cases so I don't know about your assessment of his corner cutting.

Law student here, just so you know the people in a lawyers office are not an indication of cases. Most issues are resolved without ever going to court, and the majority of clients only require legal advise, not representation. So the number of people in his office is touched up, but that is no indication on how many cases he takes on. Typical consultations are charged at 150-200 USD per hour, depending on where you are at and whar lawyer you have chosen.
10 cases a week is not humanly possible, even in show about a made up lawyer. Criminal cases can go quicker than other cases, but still anything more than 3-4 a week is not realistic at all. Also a single case requires more than 4 hours, in criminal ones this would usually be around 10 hours to a few weeks (keeping in mind the exceptions on big cases and appeals which may take a year, or more).

    • @RenaldyCalixte
      @RenaldyCalixte 2 года назад

I think the 10 case should include consultations and the numbers still work if that is taken into account.
So 5 cases and 5 consultations. He pleads out 3 and works the other 2 over a longer period of time.
$15,000 for cases (he only charges $4000 for felonies and I doubt all his cases are felonies) and (assuming Saul charges a low number for consultations $100 per consultation) $500 for consultations.
That's $15,500 per week. $62,000 per month. Minus expenses and taxes that's roughly $650,000 a year just as a shady lawyer. Again if Saul works through more than 70% of his clients through consultations and plea deals this makes sense to me.
Walter had $90 million of his own money and Saul's cut was 5%. That's roughly 4 million dollars plus 800,000 from Jesse equals roughly $5 million. He probably got another $1 million from both of them while they worked for Gus. So 5 to 8 million number of the money Jimmy earned as Saul is somewhat accurate.

Great video. One thing you’re incorrect when it comes to Hue. Saul clearly keeps him around and other people as personal gowns to assist with illegal activities. Hence why in season five they had no problem helping Heisenberg hide items. I’m pretty sure Hue on paper is simply just a security guard but again he’s essentially Saul Goodman‘s personal bodyguard who is supposed to be there for him at any time and does lots of shady/illegal things that are clearly not supposed to be done by a security officer.

Re the cost of the adds:
    1) The $450/spot cost was for adds during good airtimes (middle of the afternoon) targetting the elderly, which probably more expensive than during the late night when most of his ads probably ran for the target market of lowlifes and criminals he was after.
    2) With a plan run 4 ads/day, Saul good have probably gotten a heavy discount for committing to run so many ads, probably as much as 20% the smaller-package price.
Together, this suggests that the estimate of $54,000/month probably overstates Saul’s actual advertising cost by as much as double or more.

Saul made 5% of everything Walt was involved in from the time he started working with Fring. And it stands to reason that he got his cut of the $80mil Walt made as well.
When Walt, Jesse and Mike got in business together after Fring and they were counting and splitting up their money after the first cook, Saul's cut was a part of it. Stands to reason that it that remained all the way until Walt retired.
What this means has Saul made plenty of money over his time in both shows, especially with Walt, with whom he made millions.

Even if he "only" got 5% of Walt's $80m in the desert, that's still $4m. Not exactly small change and in New Mexico you can do a hell of a lot with that kind of cash.
Give me $4m and you'll never hear from me again. I'd invest it wisely for a steady lifetime income.

I think he could do lots more cases seeing these cases are mostly low rent possession cases/petty theft/prostitution types that he can blame on poverty/addiction ect and get clients off or at least reduced sentences. New Mexico has the lowest incarciation rate for drugs when measured in months. not to mention being a border state. the police would be more focused on higher level dealers/smugglers.

@@LogicallyAnswered In Better Call Saul it was clear the ADA that opposed Saul in later seasons was eager to prosecute the Salamancas after Tuco fought Mike. It's obvious the ADA hates Jimmy because he told Mike to lie about whose gun was found during the fight. The ADA knew Hector intimidated Mike to lie but had no evidence.
In Season 5 when she pleads roughly a dozen cases on the elevator for Saul she clearly doesn't care or show interest. To me the ADA wants to prosecute higher level criminals like the Salamancas.
