It would be hilarious if Shayne Topp was cast as Booster Gold.
I was not really paying attention to the video so when I heard "Shayne Topp", turned to my screen and saw Shayne's face staring back I laughed out loud

So eventhough I believe that it's high time for Shayne to branch out of Smosh, an SNL audition is probably a more realistic goal, than a DC blockbuster

Same here. I’ve been a fan of smosh for so long and Shayne never fails to bring a smile to my face. I can’t stop imagining him in the role now, which is a shame, because he cannot be unlikeable for even a minute. Even he’s playing a complete dirtbag, you can’t help but laugh at the delivery. My, what a man. Charisma beyond words

I NEED Shayne Topp as Booster Gold. He absolutely has the charisma for the role. And given how James Gunn can really go for left field casting, I really hope he's at least considered!

something pretty funny about that Shayne Topp recommendation is that he and Ezra Miller had very similar career paths leading up towards a movie were the finalists for. In an alternate dimension he even could've been Snyder's flash

You should do this for more characters like him. Ted Kord Blue Beetle, Fire and Ice, Captain Atom, Elongated Man. Other Justice League International members.
I have a feeling Ted Kord is definitely going to show up in the Booster Gold series, maybe as a cameo but likely a recurring character, and casting would be very interesting to see, considering we have picks in mind for Booster now.

@@jbearclowaterI wonder how likely it is that the show will be about Booster coming to terms with Ted Kord’s death. Especially since we have a Blue Beetle who is his successor confirmed to be in the DCU. It’d be a real shame to not get much of their friendship, but it doesn’t seem impossible (plus it’s the kind of story Gunn seems to like to do).
@@johndevlin9225 Maybe the show starts with Ted Kord but somewhere along the way he dies? Like maybe thats the big thing in the season 1 finale.
Elongated Man might be a bit redundant, with Plastic Man being the more popular stretchy man (even though PM brought up a great point in the comic "Justice" where he says that Shazam doesn't have to leave due to being too similar to Superman, so why can there be only one stretchman?).

a booster being in his 40s actually kinda works pretty well in my opinion since if jenny kord is in her 20s then blue beetle should be in about his 40s or 50s and i feel booster and beetle should be around the same age
Hilariously, the more Nandi spoke about Booster Gold, the more I was sitting here going, “That’s Joel McHale.” Like literally Joel McHale. McHale even played Football in college at UW. 😂

I also like the idea that all the human vigilantes have been around longer than metahumans like Superman. So characters like Batman, green arrow and blue beetle are around late 30s to early 50s.
Never woulda expected Shayne Topp to show up, but i’d low key kinda love it if he got it. I don’t know if he’s actively going for roles after Goldbergs, but if he was I think I’d like to see him audition

As much as you don't know him and as everyone has already said, I genuinely can't understate how FUN it would be to have Shayne Topp in the role. He's such an affable goofy guy that I think he could really nail it.
I started watching the Ryan Hansen show (I have RUclips premium cuz it's better than paying for spotify) and it only took 20 seconds for me to fall in love with his performance and see him as the default booster gold.

I would love for in someway they are able to adapt boosters gold story in injustice 2. His and Teds story and death truly brought me to tears

I always thought Captain Hammer era Nathan Fillion would have been pretty perfect for Booster Gold. But some really, really great pics in this video.
Fillion really has fit the role for most of his career. It works a lot better for me than his casting as Guy Gardner, that still feels a little...off, but I can understand he now might be a little too old for whatever Booster Gold they're looking to give us.
He's such a Hal Jordan that in the animated New 52, they gave his role to Alan Tudyk for 1 movie and I just couldn't get over how he wasn't Nathan Fillion.

Glen Powell has been my top fancast for booster since I watched top gun. Also I really think Alden Ehrenreich could do a really great Animal Man in the DCU

With Will Poulter I was kind of shocked there wasn't even a mention of Eustace Scrubb in Voyage of the Dawn Treader. It's so exactly that arc that I thought it would be the first thing said about him, even if it was dismissed because he was just a kid at the time.
If anything the fact he was a young actor at the time should be more impressive. Maybe he’s shifted and grown in playing that type of character, but if he could do it as a teenager why couldn’t he do it now, is my logic, lol
Glenn Powell, Ryan Hansen, and Shayne Topp are my top 3 choices
For me it Seann William Scott has always been my first pick (his performance in Goon is what got me started thinking about him). Honestly though (as this video highlights) there are so many actors I would be interested in seeing in the roll
Booster Gold has been my favorite hero ever since I saw him as a kid in JL:U, his costume, his confidence, his attitude, his backstory, he will always hold a special place in my heart and I hope James Gunn does him justice.
I saw him initially in Batman Brave and the Bold and he ran very similar there. Very memorable and very loveable.
That series is what turned me on to him and Jaime Reyes.

If Ryan Gosling is too high of a bar, then Glen Powell. You only need to see him as Hangman in Top Gun: Maverick to see that he can pull off Booster Gold's arrogant celebrity-in-his-own-mind persona.
I watched Barbie movie for the first time recently, and yes Ryan gosling was already a mega star, but he really impressed me and this seems like a role he would have such fun with. Unfortunately, I don’t see him taking a role in a series rather than a movie (if he ever took a super hero role at all)-but bringing that kenergy in a much more self aware way would absolutely work

I think James Gunn should hire someone that’s very close or who’s worked with Jason Sudeikis to play Booster Gold because apparently he’s Ted Kord and those characters are a great Duo from the comics
How could it be apparently when there isn't even a Blue Beetle sequel or project in the works right now💀💀. It was rumored that he would show up in Blue Beetle but that rumor was immediately debunked he's just a fan cast even by the director.
You know I would consider Glenn Powell for Green Lantern. But seeing him as Booster Gold is not a bad choice.
I think it has to be Glen. The one thing not brought up is the ability to possibly co lead or at the very least appear in or transition to big screen movies.

honestly i do think Shayne would be a great booster. watching his Dio Shayne bit from Damien's funeral roast on smosh really displays it well. hes got the looks, the ego, the face, and the comedy skills. some of his bits on the try not the laugh series also show that hes not above poking fun at himself and taking off the mask to show some emotion when its needed. while he may not have as much experience being on tv, nearly a decade of variety content on smosh has really built up his skills to some high levels. not sure if hes looking for another tv show after goldbergs, but i think hed bring a great energy to the role. plus with smosh hes clearly got the experience playing off of others in a big ensemble cast, which could work well with a justice league international in the future
William Nefferson aka Will Neff is the Booster Gold we need, but don't deserve.
Jake McDorman brought that fun goofy energy to Limitless and Mrs. Davis. He would be my pick to bring that likeable, rogue-ish hero that brings a chaotic duct-taped brand of superhero that would play well with an equally charming straight man Ted.

Booster Gold reminds me of my favourite dungeons and dragons character I’ve played. He was a peacock aarakocra (anthropomorphic bird person) wizard who claimed to be the king of a kingdom in the elemental plane of air, sent on a mission to save the material plane. Really, he was in the aarakocra equivalent of his late teens, and had only been king for 8 days before he was overthrown and tossed through a portal to the material plane because he tried to add a new day of the week and name it after himself.
He would constantly introduce himself to everyone he met by saying “I am Haw, ruler of the kingdom of *SQUAWK*”.
