lovely CybaAstrid. Now I know what the birds do with their babies here in the wild..we have no idea where they nest, so seeing this is a treat. thanks for this. Wendalena
Thank you... there is about 8 video's here in the Yellow-bellied Sunbird theme: from building the nest to flying off to independents. Glad you enjoyed them. They never bore me and continue to build nest's around here.
haha they have also been nesting around my house for many many years, haha i'm glad my house can provide a shelter better than any tree in the wild. right now i think they are getting an egg
Is lucky enough to have a pair nesting on the solar light chain on the veranda at my oldies joint they’re awesome little birds, only began to notice them when one landed on the door handle and peered through the glass with beak bowed, eyes as close as possible it was almost as if he was observing me lol Peace an 420
Hi Wendalena, I will try your suggestion (the nectar is 1 l water, half cup sugar, teaspoons salt, food colour and 10 drops vidalin paediatric syrup) but will have to shop around for vidalin paediatric syrup. Sunbirds are now flying and I have started preparing the last youtube but my best shots are on my video which a friend is trying with another friend to download the clips. Troubleshooting my downloading my best clips from video. Hopefully this weekend. Comments take time to process.
Hello... the chicks have now left the nest. One left 3 days ago and the other 2 days ago. However, they are currently sitting with both parents in a very nearby tree from their original nest. I was concerned at first when I saw one chick in the nest that evening with no mother but in the morning noticed them in the tree, so I was able to go work knowing the other chick will soon follow. New video coming soon of their venture into the realworld. Stay posted and please rate.
nice video! we just had them on our balcony, they absolutely lovely cute birds!
