Hi Pete Just came across this video and realise that it's 7 years old and that must be as long as I've been playing and enjoying this song since watching and learning from you then. Also as you suggested in this video I did go and watch Steve Miller on his acoustic in the studio and, as an embellishment, I also learned his descending scale ending with the "Yahoo!" at the end which gives it a great finish. Thanks Pete. You have brought a lot of pleasure to us mere mortals from your teaching! 😀
Sure glad you figured it out … I studied that video for ages and couldn't quite get how he was playing it … I am so grateful you came to the rescue. Your voice works very well on this song btw. It is funny when you stop and think how many cool rock songs involve that G, Cadd9, D progression in so many hundreds of ways and combinations .. the list would would be way long if I tried to attempt it. This would be a great song to keep in the arsenal when someone says, "play me something" as it is such a pleasant and recognizable song and easy for people to join in singing.
Hey georgia! If you can't laugh at yourself, life is no fun ehhh?? Lol, let me get a thumb up and a "LOL" comment back for "Space POW BOY??" lmao. Thanks for the tutorial man!
You are an awesome Aussie!! Thanks for the lesson, brings me back to the summer of 1974.
Great lesson, dude! And I like the fact that you also sing it. I'm learning to play this song today with your lesson.
Thanks!

I do love your rendition of this song. I'm happy to see the Cadd9!!! The hammer-ons make this song more like the original for me. Thanx
