The shell and colors look gorgeous, but the stick & touchpad makes me recoil in angry confusion and the price seals the no-deal. As a primary vertical handheld user I will stick with my rg406v. It may look a bit bulbous and dumb, but it's so comfortable, works good enough so far and it's ½-⅓ the price (depending if there are still early bird slots when you read this). I don't think it's worth it unless you are really hell bent on vertical handheld PS2 emulation for some reason and don't mind the off putting virtual right stick.
440€?? spitting my coffee all over the desk... wtf?! Absolutely insane. My guess is that there's no big target group for this. Even the Analogue Pocket with its nice perfect OLED and its individually designed FPGA chip layout "only" costs half of that price. And this made sense at least for hardcore Gameboy fans who wanted to have the perfect Gameboy experience without emulation. I highly doubt that many people are willing to pay >400$/€ for an emulation handheld. They should've used less strong hardware (limit it to N64, PS1 and 3DS emulation, that's totally sufficient) to keep the price much lower. I would buy such a device for 200€ immediately with this case, this display and hardware which can emulate 3DS.
Yes People Please buy this :) Save all the better devices for me. Think man think. Do you really think the best arm chipsets will be for custom handhelds? So you have this G3X gen 2 SOC which is a lot better than say a Miyoo Mini Plus; like 15 times better and about 15 hour battery life. But then you have Snapdragon 8 gen 3 which has double the performance @ virtually no increase in power consumption and which starts at 355 USD and this will play most and nearly all games and emulators which G3X gen 2 will go up to Switch and PS2, but choke on PS3 etc. Btw at that price it comes with 6500 mah, nearly 7" screen and about 11 hour battery life. It's nice for sure. I don't think I heard any real comment on those triggers though? The l2/r2 are they touch pad or is that a large rocker? If it's a rocker then that is just strange and could limit the use. As one comment said it would be nice if they would make one of these that allowed you to swap button configurations, probably the biggest issue with a lot of consoles is the controls were so varied before they settled on the current norm. If it had different face button 'modules' if you will, that would swap out that would make this an add to cart right now. I'd love to have a face button set for sega, a n64, and a gc layout as well. I know that may sound like a lot, but for what they're charging, I don't think that's a crazy idea at all. Anyway I Love Them
I’m unsure about the touchpad. A touchpad interface sounds great-until I saw you _trying_ to use it as a joystick.
I'd love to see AYANEO's trackpad mode for 3D android games; watching you play _Genshin_ and _Minecraft_ using the control stick emulation got me worried lmao.
Anyone with experience with a Steam Controller knows two things: SteamInput is essential for getting the most out of the trackpads, and using a trackpad to emulate a joystick is the worst way to use it.
I think this thing might outperform my PC lol. I always prefer d-pad but something this beefy needs two analog sticks IMO. I guess it comes down to that touchpad. Could you possibly even play some PC games with an emulator?
