Hey Dan. I just wanted to let you know how much I really enjoy your videos. I started watching them a month or so back and have been going back watching all the previous ones that happened before I started watching. I drove for Maverick which was also flat bedding, and I can say that your films are the most true to life videos that I have seen. Riding along with you on RUclips sort of fills the void of missing life on the road. I am currently in another line of work due to a medical situation and need to be close to my doctor's, but it's nothing that will keep me from getting back out there in the next year or two. I appreciate your videos so keep em coming. Randall Murphy
Hi Dan, here is a FLATBED FIELD EXPEDIENT TIP, ASK TRUCK STOP PERSONNEL FOR A TRASH CAN liner, make you a hole in top for your head then on each top side corner make arm holes. It won't keep you 100% dry but it will keep most of it off you. have a safe day out there.
That's funny, when you were in that rest area, you were within 8 miles of my house! Should have stopped at Silver Creek exit (second exit) from rest stop and filled up with cheap rez fuel, last time I fueled up there was $2.259.
I was born in Silver Creek. Lived my first seven years at 20 Buffalo street and walked over the foot bridge that used to be over the creek to get to school. Mom worked at Seegarts Dairy there on Buffalo street back in the early forties.
That new truck sure is sharp I think you made a good choice . I look forward to hearing about the mileage that it gets. Always enjoy watching the videos thank you 🖒🖒🖒
Make sure your fan only kicks in at 210 Degrees, if the fan kicks in lower than that, you will use more fuel. Also make sure you have a alignment done, all three Alex alignment. Your fuel mpg will go up.
Dan, try attaching some kind of counter weight to the bottom of the bracket just under the camera to absorb the vibrations, it seems to be caused by reverberations at a low truck RPM or idle. just a thought. thanks for another great video, like the music and driving clips.
Sounds like a good philosophy; "If they charge you for parking, you don't spend any extra money. If the parking is free, you patronise their store, restaurant etc. Gord, Vancouver
Such a great looking rig. I hope you are happy with the new truck. It seems you are getting in the groove with the fuel mileage approaching your goal. You are making it work!
Cool! you went to ProTech! They're kinda famous.. Gee, too bad you didn't have time for lunch. I would have picked up the check just to shake your hand and say "Thanks for the great channel" - Well, maybe next time :)
Hey Dan! Not sure about everywhere else, but if you have the EZPass on Illinois tolls, you only pay half of what the cash charge is. Might think about getting one.
Hi Dan ,been following you for quite awhile ,retired now,,you probably dealt with Rembradt wright he was a agent for Mercer in Youngstown ,had good rates
Hey Dan, a question about your fuel mileage. Have you checked to see if your doser injector is not clogged? At 500K, it is probably due to be replaced.
Wondering if you got $1.50 a mile for that Cali to NY Load....Cool Videos though in my opinion, gives a pretty good insight to what we go though out here!
How are you able to stay focused driving for hours on end on highways that may be empty at times? What do you do to keep alert and not let your mind get bored or distracted?
Wouldn't those snow plows be better for fuel mileage if the were tarped up? Those flat ends and open space in between the plows will cause a lot of turbulence and hurt the mileage. Just my opinion from watching how you tarp loads.
That's what I was thinking too? In my experience the 2 things affecting MPG the most are speed and drag. Even reducing speed by as little as 5MPH will make noticable gains, and the whole load doesn't need to be tarped but the front section up to the top plough would slide through the air better if there was a smooth surface to divert air up and over the top, especially since you have a big hole in the middle. The back part would then be sheltered by the front half. I know it means more work but it might be worth a try to see if there is a gain there too. If you are on a long journey maybe tarp it for the first half and then remove the tarp for the second half and compare. Keep safe though and thanks for sharing your experiences. Love em!
I'd think hard about buying stuff from Walmart. They make their delivery drivers wait sometimes 8 hours to get off loaded, that's insane + Walmart is hard pressed to sell anything american made. I'd give ya a ticket just for shopping at Walmart, and charge ya double tolls, LoL..... You are getting our new tractor dirty driving in the rain
Yea, a lot of vibration and bouncing on idle. I can hear that she idles a little ruff. Not sure how that can be fixed. But, I will take it and get used to it. :)
you do not use nylon on any steel - - - you hit the breaks - your in trouble. the fine for that in the right place would be higher than what the load pays!
Excellent channel. SUBSCRIBED! Curious as to why you opt out of EZPass. Seems it would save time/money overall (not much, but every bit counts :) Your thoughts would be valued greatly.
one of those cheap non slip mats you can put on the dash would do the trick, just cut a piece off it, thats what i used, i got one very cheap from ebay but i have seen them often in fuel stations here in the UK bit i'm not sure where they sell them in the US :)
I really don't understand why someone would give you a thumbs down on your videos...
they just want to be noticed...lol
Exactly what I was thinking..... I was just curious what their probable reasons could be......?

Hey Dan, a question about your fuel mileage. Have you checked to see if your doser injector is not clogged? At 500K, it is probably due to be replaced.
Dan, why no ez pass or prepass + I don't go up north much, but the discounts a fairly significant and probably pay the monthly fee....
Hey Dan, wondering what you dropped in NY unless you're keeping it under wraps
Wondering if you got $1.50 a mile for that Cali to NY Load....Cool Videos though in my opinion, gives a pretty good insight to what we go though out here!

Those plows must be for air ports or some thing, I don't think the Hwy dept uses them .
There is a vibration from your truck effecting the camera pointed at you.

Not sure. I'm working on it. It didn't do it In the Old truck
Thanks for watching
You need a piece of rubber between your new bracket and the dash to dampen the shake when truck is idling Dan.
one of those cheap non slip mats you can put on the dash would do the trick, just cut a piece off it, thats what i used, i got one very cheap from ebay but i have seen them often in fuel stations here in the UK bit i'm not sure where they sell them in the US :)
$38 for each trip across-the mind boggles!
