Hey Dan, when you get home clean that grease off of the accelerator. If need be, remove the roller from the bracket and clean it also as that grease is doing nothing but collecting dust and grit. If the worn spot on the base plate is causing problems make a plate from 1/16th inch steel or aluminum and drill and screw it on top of the base plate. It will give the roller a new surface to roll and and the amount it changes the pedal position won't be noticeable. Also it will save the cost of a new base plate and can easily be replaced if it ever wears down again. If you remove the roller to clean it, reassemble it with graphite on the shaft and you will be good to go another 1/2 million miles. Just something I did to another truck that had that problem.

Dan, you are Mr. Fix it on the road which I'm learning from you is key to your overall economy as an owner operator. Its telling me that you ought not be an owner operator unless you have these mechanical inclinations. Shop rates add up. Though this video shows that must of us can trouble shoot and that its the little things which are the culprits even the consequences are big.
    Great video!

That was the old Giant truck stop. I was based out of central Cal. when i did fuel tankers. I loaded few loads at the refinery when I was sent out there. Wow that brought back memories.
When the newer trucks came around you can't say "peddle to the metal "". now it's " rheostat to the metal "

Just FYI, Lubing things that are out in the open will collect dust, dirt and small rocks. Best to clean the lube off when home and use graphite if it still need slicked up. Other wise replace the worn base pad.

Good video. would have liked to see them unload those little foam pieces. In regards to your eggs, you can always do the float test. there are youtuses that splain it. But an egg straight from the hen house can sit on the counter for up to 5 weeks if not washed. Store eggs are 3-5 weeks old. You can make milk stay fresher longer by using 1 tsp salt to a gallon. Enjoy your time at home.

Just a thought-When you get home consider soldering those connections (leave the crimp, cut the insulation, solder and wrap with tape) there is a lot of amperage on that line, heat will expand aluminum crimps

Dan, i have this case, i bought at Walmart. has everything you might need, electrical, even has those tiny fuzes, and some big fuzes. i was never sure what i might need, if a truck stop/shop didn't have the item in stock. i wanted to be covered. although i was a company driver, i didn't like adding expenses to my company if i could fix the minor problem myself. major engine problems or tires, well i couldn't fix those. i'd inform the company of the minor problem, but tell them i had the parts to fix it, then when i got back to the main terminal, i'd inform the shop what i fixed.

i'm not sure, but that TA in Holbrook, might be the place where i bought my silver bracelets and egg shape paper weights, and other glass figurines. i use to put velcro on my dash and glue the egg paper weights in the middle, in front of me, on the dash, it never blocked my view.

What brand of fridge is that in your truck? I've been looking for something similar with a compressor that runs off of 12V or 24V (which I assume yours do). Thanks for another great video. Used to live in NM, so it's great to see that part of the world again.

l might be wrong but I think that's just a potentiometer on the back side of the pedal. As others have said, better off to keep it dry. All the dust/dirt/schmutz is going to stick to the grease.

I hate those squeeze connectors. When at all possible I soldier the connections, wrap with tape, then shrink tube over that..
Every idea I had to fix the accelerator petal you stole, LoL.. Isn't that CRC white spray grease just the best stuff? I spray it on my house door hinges, the car door hinges and locks, etc. hood latch, anything that's metal and moves, LoL.. I keep a can in the house, and a can in each car.. Heck, i'd even spray it on the cat is she squeaked, LOL
Please - Make a video at home time so we're not going thru withdraw. :-( LOL

It's no problem to store eggs outside the fridge, even for two weeks. I always do.
Basic rule for food is how they store it at the supermarket. Is it sold refrigerated or not.

No need to throw the eggs away. Eggs are not even refrigerated in stores outside the US. It is not like they waited for the hen to lay an egg and then immediately consume it before the fridge was invented :)
