i couldn't upload a take away dinner - so no complaints, but i wish there were some more "live nice" - saw them and they were not "awesome" [yeuch! ] they were great.
eimbertha1 - did you realise that you have missed off the last section of this piece, where the main theme is repeated? Your video is just under 6 minutes, but it should be 8.57 ....
The 8:57 version you're talking about is on the Five Bridges album, and was played live with the Sinfonia Of London. This version was a different studio recording, and was truncated for the Best Of... album, for reasons of timing. Personally, I always found it tiresome to have to listen to Keith roughing it up with a thuggish volley of electronic feedback at the point where this fades, thus spoiling the continuity of a majestic piece of music. Each to his own, I suppose, but it wasn't really clever to make such an appallingly unmusical racket over such a dignified piece - like ill-bred schoolboys misbehaving and thinking they're being funny.
@espace250 so? upload something better on another "nice" upload someone has to badmouth lee jackson. thee is so much on you tube. if you don't like something, just go on to the next.
Bless the music and the memory of Keith Emerson, five years today since he left this earth.
Saw The Nice in Ipswich in 1969 Superb.
I can see somewhere Sibelius smiling and saying: "You are doing it right".
my first album! Still like it 40 years on.
The music made by Keith Emerson and The Nice is truly everlasting.
