Wish this one would have been out a year ago. I have the original SE model, still very good drone. It got me into drones and led to me purchasing the Air2. For the price the mini2 se is amazing and amazing to fly. I love the mini’s best first drone ever.

This is the perfect budget drone as a secondary for someone with a higher end drone, or as a first drone for someone on a tight budget.

The SE is a wifi transmitter, but the Mini 2 and the Mini 2 SE are ocusync, Makes one hell of a difference in distance that is achievable. Not that anyone needs to fly or should ever fly silly distances to start with.
I was like that about flying my first drone over water, the Phantom 3 Standard. But after watching videos of others doing it I decided to try it. I'm glad I did. After the Phantom 3 I bought the Phantom 4 Pro, then the Air 2s which I have now. My favorite thing has always been flying over water. I fly near my house at the Tennessee River and then I'll drive an hour to fly at a very scenic Lake Guntersville Lake, AL about an hour away. Both are very scenic with harbors, boats, bridges, etc. Just a lot of stuff to see and fly around. I'm glad I eventually gave in to my fears.

Got one, and it is indeed a great entry level drone with amazing quality video for not a lot of cash. I've considered SJRC drones, 4k cam with half the price of dji mini 2 se, but yeah, half the quality too on the video results. You got what you paid for I suppose, glad I chose the Mini 2 SE. I dont have my DJI mini 2 SE yet (next week) but from what Ive read Im not going to be able to get out there the way you did because a spotter is for if you're using FPV Goggles or doing something that won't allow constant visual field of sight, it's not allowed for extending the pilots FOV. but it was awesome to see your footage its incredible what they are capable of!

I saw on another youtube channel a guy that also tested this drone's range and he got to 5 Km and back.Yeah it was on the limit but I couldn't believe it if I didn't see it.Glad I got me this beginner friendly model.Though initially I was tempted by the Potensic Atom with the 3 axis gimbal.Also a nice drone that could be a real competition for DJI.They still have some work to do regarding the stability of the gimbal which in some cases couldn't maintain the horizon leveled even when calibrated. But a firmware update will solve that from what they said.Love the scenery of UTAH.
The Potensic Atom will not get you the ranges the DJI Mini SE will give you. DJI is in a whole other class.

It's right if signal is lost she will automatically fly home yes? As long as I update home point and return height? Very jealous of your "playground" lol. Beautiful shots.
Yes, it should automatically RTH when it disconnects. If not, you can just press the rth button.

About a year ago after constantly having my iPhone dimming when it got the slightest bit hot I bought an iPad Mini (5th gen) and not only does it give me this great larger screen but doesn't dim in the heat at all. I just connect to my iPhone via the hotspot.
I’ve got a iPad mini and I just bought a tablet bracket. I keep selling my drones and leaving it on them. 😂
This thing is waiting for me in delivery mailbox at the moment. Watching this literally before going out to pick it up. Wish me luck.

Nice scenary flight there, DR. Yah that's what sucks about using your iphone with the RC-N1, it dims fast when its a bit hot out.

@@yostinpoveda2083 : I film in 1080p probably 90% of the time and in all honesty nobody knows it's not 4K. I only buy new, refurbished is not for me. 😊

Hello from Ohio, I have a lot to learn so thanks for helping us newbies. I haven't taken it outside yet. One of the 1st things I kept reading about was to always keep the unit is sight. There's no way you were to see it in the sky , what am I missing...did I misread the Drone Training course? Thanks again!

I just got the se t'other day..... so, if conditions are totally calm, could you in theory be fairly safe flying out for 45% of the battery and then return using a total of 90% with 10% buffer?

Hi Dad, nice flight, thank you for sharing. I also keep a couple of Mini 1 Li-Ion batteries fully charged so I can get my Mini 2 and Mini 2 SE up in the air with a moments notice. The only disadvantage of the Mini 1 battery with the Mini 2 (and SE) is that the drone weight is over 250g and must be registered. The batteries that come with the Mini 2 are Li-Pol that discharge in time to protect the battery. The Mini 2 SE is a great little drone that also has me smile.
+ssb73q you are correct, about the mini 1 batteries. Reliable buy bring your drone a few grams above 250g

Great flight, I was hoping DJI Mini 2 and the original mavic air 2 was compatible with the DJI RC controller as well as this one. You know you said in the end of the video that because it's ocusync 2 it probably won't be compatible with the DJI RC controller, now here is where you are wrong. DJI Air 2s is ocusync 2 but it is compatible with the DJI RC controller.
The air 2s is Ocusync 3 according to its specs.

I bought Mavic Mini batteries as extra for Mini 2 SE. DJI Fly app says battery firmware update available for the new battery. Should I update Mavic Mini batteries while using them in Mini 2 SE ?

+John K Anafi 8000’ feet and the mini 2 12,000 feet - I say this as usable control distance where the pilot is in full control and not fighting with signal interference by the changing direction of the antennas

Wow. How are you getting that kind of range? I can't even get 1000 feet in a rural area, straight line of sight without horrible artifacts, blocking, lag, and freezing.
I’ve been really lucky with my drones. I was really impressed with the Mavic 3 Pro and the RC. Range is incredible. YAGI antenna additions are pretty helpful for both the original and N1 controllers too.
The mini 3 is 200 dollars more in my country than the mini 2 se, would you go for that? Im going to Bali and wanna shoot some awesone shots, also for social media, I know the mini 3 can rotate camera, but is it okay to crop the SE image? What to buy
BUY the mini 3 for flight time and 12 mp pictures. I f you are afraid of losing an expensive drone on your trip, find a mini 2 se, it just has most everything you need
So I’ve had the Mini 2 SE for about a week now and I can’t get it to go past about 3000 feet away from me. I live in a pretty rural area and there are lots of trees. It just seems to lose connection around 3000ft of distance anywhere from 200-300’ of altitude. Using an iPhone if that matters. Is that normal or what? I’m new to this
+@dmsndy unfortunately, if you have trees in your LOS signal penetration is reduced. You need to plan your shots so your transmission area is in better LOS with the drone. I choose my flight areas for distance purposes in great LOS areas. All drones have varying degrees of limited distances based on the transmission power and obstacles in the path of the drone. Hope this helped.

That's a restriction for India. You have to go to an other country to fly your drone to higher than 15 meters.
15 meters max? That's crazy low. I wonder how they came up with that number. It actually seems less safe than letting you go higher, as it's easier to see when it's farther away and the connection to the drone will have less interference from wifi, etc on the ground.

I was thinking of something regarding FCC and CE modes (which we have in France).
CE mode limits us to 6 kilometers of range with the Ocusync 2.
But as much on my Mavic AIR 2 it mattered, because the battery had more autonomy, as much on the Mini 2SE I think the difference in range between FCC (10 kms) and CE (6 kms) modes is less important, because anyway the battery limits the flight in duration and prevents reaching more than 6 kilometers., .. What do you think about ?

Scanning the airspace the drone and the controller all at the same time. Scanning
With mine, when it's nearby and low I like to look at the drone itself so I don't fly it into trees or buildings. When I have it farther away or very high, it's much better to look at the screen and occasionally glance up at wherever it is. Sometimes, I've looked up and seen birds getting very close to it that I couldn't see on the screen.

Do you live in CE area or FCC area? Also you can look in your DJI FLY ap under CONTROL and adjust your max distance setting
