@@PHDInSevereInternetRetardationYep, you literally just listed everything wrong with gaming today. A moment of silence for the golden age of video games 😔 PS1-PS3 Era ✨
@w0rx1 yep, it's all for money, no passion in the crafting, just make whatever something that can give money. Even companies caring for money back then, they couldn't release patches or fixes, the way the game was shipped it would stay like that till the end of humanity inside a cd, so they did with all passion and professionalism. It's all a joke nowadays compared to the divine times in the gaming world back then. They made sure to the best artistic, creative and well engineered games of all time. It was more creative and experimental time, nowadays they just love making the shittiest games ever with the most ultimate realistic graphics, full of bugs, glitches and errors. Back then games had much more simple graphics because technology (chips,cpus...) costed much more and had super limited capacities for realistic graphics, plus having to make the technology affordable for everyone..., the games weren't so complicated, but still sophisticated for their times because of the novelty.
I absolutely lost my mind seeing Sega Bass Fishing thrown in the mix. I feel like that game, along with all the others belonging to the genre, are so overlooked. The breadth of games you included here really strengthens the demonstration of how impactful drum and bass was to video games for a period of time.

I have an incredible appreciation for the fact that the Gran Turismo track is paired with footage from the game, and the "START" banner is synced up with the drop
Listening to this is giving me such a weird, but not bad feeling. Just sitting here thinking how different my life was being a kid, and this music + visuals is really helping me think about it and remember my feelings from back then. Great mix :)
Brings me back to the earliest days of internet radio, tuning in on WinAmp to the jungle and drum & bass channels while playing PC games on CD. The sound of disc drives and hard drives spinning up in the background. What a time.
Love that you are actually mixing and its not just track after track. Nice selection of tracks with nice video game footage. Usally more into techno but jungle and dnb is just perfect for studying. Keeps me going but not too distracting
Dude you send me back to 1997 sitting in front of my playstation1 and play all the nostalgic games the feels i get when i hear this music is undescribeble just pure feels
The way that Pizza Hotline's Startup Tune mixes into LTJ's Music is honestly so good I went hunting for that version of it until I realised it was your mix!
Growing up, seeing all these games back in 2006-2007, just such a great feeling. I can remember almost all of them. and the beats are extremely reminiscent of those games OST's . It almost doesn't make sense, it's like each track creator in this video played every single video game you mentioned. Kingdom Hearts, Need For Speed Underground, Devil May Cry, Shadow of the Colossus (Arguably one of the first PS2 titles I ever saw), Gran Turismo (2007), I sincerely wish I experienced more of this era as a 2001 kid. My childhood was filled with shitty school experiences that would take away all the summer fun memories I would get every year, kind of wish it wasn't like that, but I have no choice, you can't change fate (the past). I like to think that I managed to barely touch what life was like "before social media", or when people who had social media were considered "quirky extra people" and all you needed was phone numbers and go out drinking a fresh cup of juice or coffee and cake, something like that. I really don't get how YOU get it so well. All the tracks you gave convey that feeling. But yet somehow, this type of music, wasn't quite "the thing" back then, unfortunately, unless you were playing a video game most people listened to rock bands and "gangsta rappers".
No way, I was just playing NFS Underground 2, and looked for some playlist to listen to while playing. What a gem this set is, nostalgia hits different with this playlist. 😮

This mix is absolute FIRE! These tracks give warehouse party vibes, especially the LTJ rremix, and the games on display definitely hit nostalgia. 👊The mix is a banger altogether.
