- There is a snow storm coming soon, so I head out deep into the woods for a fun night of bushcraft style camping. I am in the Appalachian Mountains of Somerset County, Pennsylvania. I brought deer tenderloin along with some other food to cook while I'm out here. I'm using a large ultralight tarp as shelter, which I fashioned into a tent.
You are probably my favorite Bushcraft youtuber - not only you give a lot of explanation and information, your voice is also kind of calming
Completely agree
Glad to hear that!
Yeah this guy and outdoor boys really awsm videos
@@ahmedkhalfan9244 agreed 🤝
Yeah, I really feel like I’m camping with the dad I never had 😂😂
It would be cool if u could upload regular lengthy videos like this, its so soothing to watch this before sleeping
That's the plan, I've been wanting to make more of these style videos now that I have more time
@@WoodsboundOutdoorsYes, please do. You are my best bushcraft RUclipsr.
Oh dude! I cant wait!
Love your content. I am 66yo .you never know when you will need this. Excellent! God bless you!
Gourmet cooking on a makeshift stove in the snow! How awesome, your channel always has such great tips and advice, thanks for the content!
Glad to hear 👍
So many great tips on how to cope with snow and cold weather!
Nice. I remember doing this in my young teens. Just a couple of us would pack up and stay in the woods for shits and giggles. Remember waking up, and the snow would have covered up the land such beauty. We did it just because we could just be a little out of town we would hike there. Man, if you haven't done this, your missing out. This video brought out some old memories. Keep the journey coming. Some have never seen or experienced this life. Waking up was always great, but yes, packing up sucks.
Hello from Oklahoma! Good Video! Thanks for letting me tag along. Looked like a cold camp. People don't realize how handy a couple extra pairs of socks can be. Love that cowboy coffee! Thanks for all You do! Happy New Year! God Bless!
I still have yet to watch a video of yours and not learn something. Your plethora of knowledge always amazes me, and i love that i am not just entertained, but am also learning an extensive amount of things to take with me. Keep it up! And thank you. 🤠💪🙏
That looks so damn relaxing and peaceful. Wish i could do that, got two little babies at home. I'll be doing this once they get older though!! Everything is better when you're out there!!
Very peaceful out there, especially with the snow falling down
Love the videos man super entertaining and fun to watch and time passes like a fly when I watch this thanks man keep up the good work
Western Pa woods are a great place to find some solitude and adventure
It looks freezing, but that tent looks oddly comforting.
This guy knows his stuff! So glad to see you out there in the Appalachian!
Amazing experience, I love that, I wish I was there 👌🔥🤘🍻💯
That's cool I know this area close to home
Awesome video
This is such beautiful landscape
Nice!
Nice.
Made me hungry,
TWICE!
Such a good one 👍
- I really enjoy your videos. You've quickly become one of my favorite. I especially like you because you're on of the few American bush craft folks on youtube. 😂❤
You make great videos. I enjoy watching and I learn a little. Regarding the coffee though, Mount Hagen instant is really good instant coffee.
Glad to hear.. and I might have to give that brand a try
Great video that was quite the snow.
good stuff brother!!
Thank you 👍
Love the longer vids!
Happy New Year!
Same to you and thank you!
My Dude, Ive been watching you for a while... Very educational, very pleasant to watch, Very Good Looking... Love your videos. Thank You...❤❤❤
great video, really enjoy the style of your content
Your literally an inspiration man
I appreciate that
Looks cold but awesome! Hope more snow comes very soon
More of this. Your tip videos are good, but you gotta show survival camping videos, great evolution. 👍
I grew up down there, brother. Beautiful during the winter. This video really reminded me of home.
Man do I love these types of videos. Please make more!
glad to hear and that's the plan 👍
I use a Corona saw also but mine is the folding version. Works great and has a built in blade protector.
I just break branches and sticks with hands, feet and torque between trees, dont even carry a saw, less you count the one on my Leatherman, or an ax.
@buzz5969 I'm 76, have arthritis in my hands, have had carpal tunnel surgery in both hands, and just had shoulder surgery for a large tear of my rotator cuff, mostly all according to my Dr's by proving how tuff I was as a kid. I do it the easy way now. I didn't even include my broken back in 1983 or bone-on-bone in both knees.
I really like improvised gear! That chainsaw guard is great! And bright red, too!
Man has a lot of wisdom he’s passing off, he reminds me of the countless hours I’d watch Les Stroud’s Survivorman series when I was a kid. So much useful information to learn, I live in a very rural area so I’m hoping to go out here soon and start doing the same thing.
My best wisdom has always came from hands on, watching vids are nice but you wont know till you get out and do it.✌🏻
I like the idea of hot rocks in a sock to help dry out your boots. Were they dry the next morning?
A lot more dry than they were
Who saved this video with me
Like this kind of video. covers a lot of ground and ties it all together in a way thats easy to follow along if you’ve never camped.
feel free to link some of the stuff you use (bonus if i can get it in canada!)
My god are your videos relaxing. I kindly ask that you keep it up, I'm loving them!
I enjoyed your video very much. Your voice is so calming and you know what you're doing😊
Gotta admit. You are probably one of the best out there. I wish I was with you
Coffee would have been the very FIRST thing for me to make in the AM, only then I can function to make the rest 😂
I wish I could do this. I love going to the reservations and creating fires at home. But I’m just a florist I would probably feel paranoid and vulnerable 😂
Praise the Lord - a video without tunless jangling at the beginning! Thank-you!
My favorite bush craft vlog. You explain stuff so we learn and understand!! So interesting! Thank you!
Thank you for putting these videos up. You have inspired me to get back into the woods. There's nothing more cathartic and rejuvenating than being out in the woods. Please take us on more of your adventures, teaching us along the way. Again, thank you...I'm finding myself again, because of these videos; cannot verbalize how much this means. Namaste' brother.
That's great to hear, comments like yours are why I love making videos. I will definitely keep them coming 👍
You offer a fine and thorough summary of plenty of winter camping tips. I wish I were still able to practice them.
I've have been practicing bush craft .and watching vids for many years. it surprises me that I still learn some well thought out tips that could be life saving for some folks. Great job brother. TY
Love this video. It really showed everything in detail. 👍🏽
Best Bushcraft Content On RUclips Hands Down!!! 🙌 Keep Up The Good Work Buddy👍 Stay Blessed🙏💙
It HAS been fun, Thank You
Gosh, I love winter.
Brother im 48 years old and haven't dun something like that in the past 25 years!!! That is heaven to me:) but when u start having babies it's hard to do that kind of stuff!! But it's nice to see ❤keep grinding brother..love your stuff!!
U need to start a school for padawons lol
Absolutely love your content. I found it just a day or two ago and I’m already hooked.
This is what I call great camping
Nice tidbit about heating up or drying your boots with the heated-up rocks. I remember once on a camping trip in our VW bus my dad heated up rocks to put under our mats to keep us warm.
Love your videos! Thank you!
I love your video's.
I should write down many of this stuff.
Do you have a tip on a good bushcraft book/guide that you can take with?
"Bushcraft" my More Kochanski is one of my favorites. Speir Outdoors also has a good one coming out in a few months
Meat, taters and fire you'll make it 😊
Awesome video! Lots to learn here thank you
Looks like a lot of total enjoyment in the great confines of nature. I've done much camping myself. Excellent
Glad I found your channel. Excellent.
I like your style brother. Your hands full of skill and accurate information are most valuable to those of us who follow, thank you.
Yeah the thing about it is I know exactly where you were camping at I used to live there in that area that is. That is a nice area to go camping
This has to be the best bushcraft channel on RUclips
Your my favorite camper! Good video
you remind me of one of my old friends who sadly we lost to having children and wife.
Alleghany national forest?
No this is Somerset area but I do go to the ANF a lot
Man, I miss the times like this!
Amazing!!
One of the best videos I've seen. Can't wait to see more
Swiss miss yum 😋 good stuff...
Chocolate fix 😎👍
I can't stop watching your content, they are amazing!
I think you could start a fire underwater, lol.
Throw u a shot of cold water in that cowboy coffee. It will sinks all the grounds.
Thanks for all the great videos.
Good adventure. Thanks
Thanks!
Thank you! 👍
I miss camping in West Virginia
Looks like a blast and you arent too too far from my neck of the woods
I admire your bravery, woods terrify me, I would be afraid someone would come out of nowhere and likely kill me
Your 1/2 cut and break SEEMS obvious, but it's a great trick for creating smaller pieces when you have no hatchet or twigs for kindling 🎉 keep up the great content!!
Hey man, absolutely love your content. One thing I noticed though - this video has ALOT more cuts than the previous ones, and it feels more like it’s in a hurry and slightly more stressful I guesy? What was absolutely top notch about the previous ones was that it was very slow paced, cuts were much more apart. Like, I don’t mind watching one view for long, that’s what I’m here for actually.
I like your Fred Flintstone frying pan! I don’t know why, but food really does taste so much better when you’re cooking on a fire. Great video!
Hey there! Just wondering what folding saw you are using in your videos? - i've been looking but they all seem pretty mid. If you could send a link that would be amazing, but just a name would do perfectly fine as well :)
I use the Corona Razortooth, they have a smaller folding saw and the much bigger fixed blade saw I used in the video. Silky has some of the best folding saws if you wanna spend a little more
@@WoodsboundOutdoors thank you soooo much!! I really appreciate it! Also wanted to say absolutely love your videos and I hope that you have a great time in every one!
great videos, love the long form content
New follower here and may i say i could listen to you spin a yarn for days on end.
Unlike other people who would bring their air fryer lol
Dude I could watch these videos forever
First time watching your video and am highly impressed! Learned a few things too. Keep up the good work!
Just found you, what an awesome video. It was really interesting, watching you do the bread on the rock. Realistically not my type of Camping, but I certainly enjoyed watching you very much.
Shoulda let me know, I'd have gone with you!
I like your saw...
Wow! Sorry for all my comnents but I REALLY enjoyed the video!
Good video😊
good vid, God bless
I'd love to know what camera/mic gear you are using. And do you have anything setup over your tripod to keep the snow/rain off of it?
I actually just use my phone for most of my filming until I get better camera gear. Galaxy S23 Ultra with a waterproof case. No mic
THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you
The videos of simple snow camping are great, thanks very much. I have to travel a long way from Sydney, about 5 hours, for decent snow. Including fieldcraft tips in your narration is clever. I wonder how the pita would've tasted if you'd wrapped it around the deer loin?
thanh you❤❤❤
