Inner Child hits me too. There's something about talking to your past self. It's about a relationship (an ultimately unhealthy one) where he has buried his true self; locking it away deep within himself, (in effect, dropping his true self - and true voice - deep into a frozen winter lake). All so he can be the person his loved one wants. Stifling his true voice, his thoughts, and wants, his own needs, , so he is accepted by another.💜🥺 But spring always comes. The ice weakens and begins to melt; and his true self threatens to break through. In other words, he can only pretend to be someone else for so long. His true self still exists, and is struggling to be free. But he is afraid to show his true self; afraid he'll loose the one he loves. But... If you have to bury a part of yourself so deeply (or bury a part of yourself at all) is that a true relationship? Is it truly love when one person doesn't truly know the other? And if they don't accept you for who you really are, are they the right person for you?💜🤔 It's a beautiful song. A beautiful portrait (of Tae) painted with the unique shades of pain, with multiple layers of sadness, and the light brush of hope.💜
Singularity was written by RM specifically for Tae right after he woke up from (I think) deviated septum surgery. He wrote the whole thing in under an hour and to me it’s got that dream like drugged still feel to it almost. He references ideas like the idea of technology singularity and it’s got that signature RM poetic feeling but Tae 100% made it his song. Bookish Theories has a great theory on it video FYI. Inner child wrecks me in a good way every time.
This music is Tae, just as his 2 new ones are. I think people were expecting him to perform a summer bop like JK did. How could they, Tae is a deep thinker, he stands back and watches others, he puts his heart and feelings into his music and performances. When he performs with BTS he puts his all into it, dances and sings perfectly, entertains us, charms us with his quirkiness, but this is the type of music he loves. It’s sad that the millions of ARMY who said they we’re hanging out for his album didn’t understand him as well as they thought and don’t seem to appreciate his efforts. JK said that Tae checks everything one to ten to make it right, Tae himself has admitted that he finds it hard to be happy with his own works and has discarded countless songs because he didn’t think they were good enough. So for his ARMY who he loves to not love his work, must be heartbreaking. I hope he doesn’t doubt his ability and talent. As you have probably guessed Tae is my bias, he sucked me in to the BTS rabbit hole, found them when I needed them the most (long boring story) and I am so glad that he did. Every day I watch this man and his band mates and they make me laugh with their antics, gave me back my love of music, and gave me a respite from the hardships of everyday life. He is in my eyes truly a gift to the music world, and mine, a treasure that should be cherished.
Stigma mainly talks about guilt but I feel like to understand it better we’re gonna have to go down the Bangtan Universe rabbit hole and the connections with most solo songs in the wings album- it all goes really deep💀

I'm a 57 year old baby silver army hearing Inner Child for the first time and I am bawling. Picturing myself looking into the eyes of the terrified 6 yr old me and thinking I owe her more than what I've done so far. I'm still filled with anxiety and most days I do my best to move forward even a little bit. Wow love this song.

I absolutely adore Tae, his voice is so amazing, the low of his baritone & his crazy high notes. You wouldn't think he could hit those notes but he does! I always liken his voice to a cup of hot cocoa, a cozy fire & a warm embrace all in one. His voice brings me comfort when i need it the most, ever since my husband of 30 years died last year, ive began my slumber playlist with many of his songs, to lull me to sleep and help me get through the empty nights which us the hardest time of day when my grief sneaks up on me and hits me like a donkey kick to the chest. 💜 And the looks he gives...jeeze. he is super beautiful but its not just his sexy smoldering looks that get me, he always has fantastic facial expressions when he dance and sings. From my knowledge V is the only one who could tell. I love anything V does. His voice is delicious and he shows so much emotion, well really they all do but V’s voice can move me to tears. His voice in Crystal Snow gives me goose goose bumps. This concert MAP OF THE SOUL:E was an online concert I was watching at 5:00 in the morning screaming my lungs out. I love everything about this MV. And it took me awhile to figure out why--and still having difficulties putting it into words. The complexity. The conflict. The acting (dancing) one way, but feeling another. The choreo is beautifully timed, and it creates conflict. The setting is a box and the movement reflects the constraint. The lyrics (sad) and music (sexy) are also in conflict. It is a jumble of emotions. The song is arranged very simply, vocal driven, filled with powerful empty spaces between notes. This song was the trailer (first released MV) from the album Love Yourself: Tear. It is the second album of the Love Yourself trilogy. The first is Her (excitement of love), next is Tear (pain of love) and last is Answer (self-love). Besides Singularity, the Tear album includes Fake Love and Outro: Tear. Outro:Tear is a rapline song, that makes me cry (tears) and rips me apart (tears).

@m.k.offical that is true. They used to be farm workers when V was very young. V related this in an interview. But I heard him say that. However, I know NO details. Other than what I've heard. I just love the juxtaposition of the dance to the lyric's and even though they fit to the metranome in the background. It says he's doing 2 differnt things to maybe like some people being in relationship were they are not being their real self hidding their real self and afraid to be their real self for fear of losing the one they love. So the real person verses the persona someone can put on to keep the one they love. I don't know but that's how it appears to me. It's like he's drowning a part of himself when I read the words hidding under the water but if he stays there he'll die eventually. Our purple friend is correct.... “Stigma” explores the tragic backstory of V’s fictional self in the BTS Universe. Some extra (no spoiler) info for you.... Although the “Stigma” storyline is fictional, its raw emotion and anguish couldn’t be more real. V’s lyrics express the growing pains of youth as well as a sense of frustration many young people experience. “I wanted to portray someone young,” he said. “still growing up, crying out in anguish-that feeling of wanting to thrash about and tell the world you’re tired and fed up.” .. “Stigma,” however, is just the first chapter in a story, and that story has a happy ending. V said, “the young person in ‘Stigma’ passed through ‘Singularity’ and ‘Inner Child’ and grew up.” Singularity can be seen as talking to someone you love.... or maybe even talking to himself (has he lost himself by becoming his persona)... the disconnect between the music and dance reflects this discordant feeling within.... you can very slightly hear the metronome in the background.... the metronome was also used in RMs Do You... No one really knows the background of Stigma. Namjoon wrote it based on what V asked. He once said he didn't know exactly what it's about and another time he said it wasn't his story to tell. I think we'll never know.

RM wrote most of singularity specifically for Tae as he was having trouble with the two different personas as V and as Taehyung. He felt like V was kind of silencing who he really was as Kim Taehyung. Thats why you have the extremes. It was so beautifully written and performed
The solos in Stigma's era are BU stories but also personal ones - they have more than one layer. The more personal meaning is Tae's story to tell and he hasn't told it. RM said as much when asked. Whatever he means by it, it's a story of keeping a secret, being ashamed, being afraid you've hurt your loved ones. Apologizing for who you are and what you've done, but being unable to change. It could mean a lot of things, but us gay folks *really* relate.
The Singularity video represent what the social mask the character wears in order to make his world a happy peaceful place the dance shows the contained hidden energy and the passion that is kept behind the mask and the real personality of the character not V's, the song Namjoon wrote using as reference Narcissus story.

I had a very similar response to Singularity when it dropped! The dance seemingly at odds with the song, but riding that metronome beat like it's going to fall off of it.... No drop, just verse after verse of sexy but mournful crooning. It took me a long time to get used to it.

The little boy is a mini-V! He looks just like him (((hugs))). Singularity seems to be a mix of various concert and MV's I've seen - a stage mix, not a straight performance.
Ok sooo what i think Singularity is about, tying with the theme throughout these albums, is i believe it's about you wanting to voice out who you are "speak yourself" but instead you hide away your true voice i.e. your true self and hide it behind a mask (at the end) / behind the frozen lake (as in, you've created a barrier ) Voicing your true self can be very terrifying, so he's being haunted by wanting to voice his true self but can't (i.e. the sounds he doesn't recognize (because he's hidden his voice for so long) ) But he eventually throws himself into the lake to confront his true self/ to accept himself and thus creating a crack in the lake, he's true self starts to peek through. Because in the end you need to love yourself first before truly loving someone else This is just my interpretation of it though, and someone else may very well interpret it differently.
I’ve watched/listened to Singularity about 500 times and read one interpretation somewhere along the way. I believe it’s another break up, love song. This one asking, What were we? Did I love you or did I love the version of you I saw, heard, or created? I think that’s what he’s communicating by making out with himself at the beginning. Also, the references to losing “his voice” as though they only spoke with only one voice. His throat hurt, though, the pain wouldn’t go away, so who was really controlling the voice? I still think it was his voice. He reflects in the pond which gives us the imagery of the myth of Narcissus, who fell in love with his own image because he was the most beautiful. Now, I’m not sure about throwing himself into the frozen pond. I do think a bit about the “Loved” and whether he’s saying that he loved someone, or that he was loved. Perhaps when you’re looking in the mirror, it’s the same thing. I believe if he hasn’t stopped wearing the mask that hides, that he has a long way to go to know himself and to find a partner different from himself. So he his single, and cries a singular tear. He exists as a singular existence despite his narcissistic dual fantasy of a relationship. That’s my interpretation.

Taehyung's solos are EPIC! Timeless masterpieces that I will never get tired off. I can't wait for his full solo to come out.
Singularity was written by RM specifically for Tae right after he woke up from (I think) deviated septum surgery. He wrote the whole thing in under an hour and to me it’s got that dream like drugged still feel to it almost. He references ideas like the idea of technology singularity and it’s got that signature RM poetic feeling but Tae 100% made it his song. Bookish Theories has a great theory on it video FYI. Inner child wrecks me in a good way every time.

This music is Tae, just as his 2 new ones are. I think people were expecting him to perform a summer bop like JK did. How could they, Tae is a deep thinker, he stands back and watches others, he puts his heart and feelings into his music and performances. When he performs with BTS he puts his all into it, dances and sings perfectly, entertains us, charms us with his quirkiness, but this is the type of music he loves. It’s sad that the millions of ARMY who said they we’re hanging out for his album didn’t understand him as well as they thought and don’t seem to appreciate his efforts. JK said that Tae checks everything one to ten to make it right, Tae himself has admitted that he finds it hard to be happy with his own works and has discarded countless songs because he didn’t think they were good enough. So for his ARMY who he loves to not love his work, must be heartbreaking. I hope he doesn’t doubt his ability and talent. As you have probably guessed Tae is my bias, he sucked me in to the BTS rabbit hole, found them when I needed them the most (long boring story) and I am so glad that he did. Every day I watch this man and his band mates and they make me laugh with their antics, gave me back my love of music, and gave me a respite from the hardships of everyday life. He is in my eyes truly a gift to the music world, and mine, a treasure that should be cherished.
Stigma mainly talks about guilt but I feel like to understand it better we’re gonna have to go down the Bangtan Universe rabbit hole and the connections with most solo songs in the wings album- it all goes really deep💀

I absolutely adore Tae, his voice is so amazing, the low of his baritone & his crazy high notes. You wouldn't think he could hit those notes but he does! I always liken his voice to a cup of hot cocoa, a cozy fire & a warm embrace all in one. His voice brings me comfort when i need it the most, ever since my husband of 30 years died last year, ive began my slumber playlist with many of his songs, to lull me to sleep and help me get through the empty nights which us the hardest time of day when my grief sneaks up on me and hits me like a donkey kick to the chest. 💜

From my knowledge V is the only one who could tell. I love anything V does. His voice is delicious and he shows so much emotion, well really they all do but V’s voice can move me to tears. His voice in Crystal Snow gives me goose goose bumps. This concert MAP OF THE SOUL:E was an online concert I was watching at 5:00 in the morning screaming my lungs out. Inner child was him talking to his younger self and that little boy looked so much like V. I love this song to. V is just beautiful. The wailing high notes are on the album, shifting into the background when he starts singing lyrics again. I love everything about this MV. And it took me awhile to figure out why--and still having difficulties putting it into words. The complexity. The conflict. The acting (dancing) one way, but feeling another. The choreo is beautifully timed, and it creates conflict. The setting is a box and the movement reflects the constraint. The lyrics (sad) and music (sexy) are also in conflict. It is a jumble of emotions. The song is arranged very simply, vocal driven, filled with powerful empty spaces between notes.
This song was the trailer (first released MV) from the album Love Yourself: Tear. It is the second album of the Love Yourself trilogy. The first is Her (excitement of love), next is Tear (pain of love) and last is Answer (self-love). Besides Singularity, the Tear album includes Fake Love and Outro: Tear. Outro:Tear is a rapline song, that makes me cry (tears) and rips me apart (tears).

En el caso de Stigma hay un short film que forma parte del BU (Bangtan Universe) que es una historia ficticia que gira en torno a diversos álbumes, MV's, notas, webtoon, etc; por ello hay frases que los coautores incluyeron para que pudiera integrarse a esa historia.
Debes ver Singularity en presentación en vivo, te recomiendo la del Tokio Dome. En la canción hay dos ritmos distintos uno con el que Tae se guía para cantar y el otro que es con el que baila. Siendo la primera vez que la escuchas tu atención va más a la voz y al MV, pero si lo escuchas varias veces los notarás.

Hello, greetings from Spain, for me, V's presentations, his MVs and his music, are on another level, they are very creative, elegant, sophisticated And beautiful, her voice is so kind, sweet, silky and very sensual, but it has power and strength, she manages to wrap you in the song with such ease, her vocal range is incredible, and she has a power so seductive scenic!! When I first reacted to BTS, V got my heart . And watching this Singularity MV get me into the rabbit hole of BTS. I'm Ot7 but sometimes V got my hearts the most. ❤
I just love the juxtaposition of the dance to the lyric's and even though they fit to the metranome in the background. It says he's doing 2 differnt things to maybe like some people being in relationship were they are not being their real self hidding their real self and afraid to be their real self for fear of losing the one they love. So the real person verses the persona someone can put on to keep the one they love. I don't know but that's how it appears to me. It's like he's drowning a part of himself when I read the words hidding under the water but if he stays there he'll die eventually. Is that like losing your real self dying slowly??????? mmmmmm I don't know what others feel when they watch V's Singularity MV.

Our purple friend is correct.... “Stigma” explores the tragic backstory of V’s fictional self in the BTS Universe.
Some extra (no spoiler) info for you....
Although the “Stigma” storyline is fictional, its raw emotion and anguish couldn’t be more real. V’s lyrics express the growing pains of youth as well as a sense of frustration many young people experience. “I wanted to portray someone young,” he said. “still growing up, crying out in anguish-that feeling of wanting to thrash about and tell the world you’re tired and fed up.” .. “Stigma,” however, is just the first chapter in a story, and that story has a happy ending. V said, “the young person in ‘Stigma’ passed through ‘Singularity’ and ‘Inner Child’ and grew up.”
Singularity can be seen as talking to someone you love.... or maybe even talking to himself (has he lost himself by becoming his persona)... the disconnect between the music and dance reflects this discordant feeling within.... you can very slightly hear the metronome in the background.... the metronome was also used in RMs Do You... RM also wrote Singularity.
Finally in Inner Child he speaks to himself of the past

No one really knows the background of Stigma. Namjoon wrote it based on what V asked. He once said he didn't know exactly what it's about and another time he said it wasn't his story to tell. I think we'll never know.

RM wrote most of singularity specifically for Tae as he was having trouble with the two different personas as V and as Taehyung. He felt like V was kind of silencing who he really was as Kim Taehyung. Thats why you have the extremes. It was so beautifully written and performed

The solos in Stigma's era are BU stories but also personal ones - they have more than one layer. The more personal meaning is Tae's story to tell and he hasn't told it. RM said as much when asked.
Whatever he means by it, it's a story of keeping a secret, being ashamed, being afraid you've hurt your loved ones. Apologizing for who you are and what you've done, but being unable to change. It could mean a lot of things, but us gay folks *really* relate.

I had a very similar response to Singularity when it dropped! The dance seemingly at odds with the song, but riding that metronome beat like it's going to fall off of it.... No drop, just verse after verse of sexy but mournful crooning. It took me a long time to get used to it.

Ok sooo what i think Singularity is about, tying with the theme throughout these albums, is i believe it's about you wanting to voice out who you are "speak yourself" but instead you hide away your true voice i.e. your true self and hide it behind a mask (at the end) / behind the frozen lake (as in, you've created a barrier ) Voicing your true self can be very terrifying, so he's being haunted by wanting to voice his true self but can't (i.e. the sounds he doesn't recognize (because he's hidden his voice for so long) ) But he eventually throws himself into the lake to confront his true self/ to accept himself and thus creating a crack in the lake, he's true self starts to peek through. Because in the end you need to love yourself first before truly loving someone else
This is just my interpretation of it though, and someone else may very well interpret it differently.
In The BTS storyline , V stabbed his father with a piece of glass .His father was abusing his sister … probably for years . This is what I recall .

I’ve watched/listened to Singularity about 500 times and read one interpretation somewhere along the way. I believe it’s another break up, love song. This one asking, What were we? Did I love you or did I love the version of you I saw, heard, or created? I think that’s what he’s communicating by making out with himself at the beginning. Also, the references to losing “his voice” as though they only spoke with only one voice. His throat hurt, though, the pain wouldn’t go away, so who was really controlling the voice? I still think it was his voice.
He reflects in the pond which gives us the imagery of the myth of Narcissus, who fell in love with his own image because he was the most beautiful.
Now, I’m not sure about throwing himself into the frozen pond. I do think a bit about the “Loved” and whether he’s saying that he loved someone, or that he was loved. Perhaps when you’re looking in the mirror, it’s the same thing. I believe if he hasn’t stopped wearing the mask that hides, that he has a long way to go to know himself and to find a partner different from himself. So he his single, and cries a singular tear. He exists as a singular existence despite his narcissistic dual fantasy of a relationship.
That’s my interpretation.
